How's mixing in traditional stereo? Better then S4x? I dont mix in atmos
@@lucasjuniorproducer I use these almost like diagnostics. Usually do creative stuff on monitors, then for mixdown use OLLOs and hear things differently/make adjustments which helps things to sound much more clean once I'm back on monitors. Probably should just start on headphones but my one gripe with these is that they are heavy and hurt my neck after a while.
Have a handful of friends who are also using OLLOs (most started on S4X) regularly for music (stereo) and swear by them. I didn't use the earlier versions so can't make a comparison.
Can't wait to get mine. I love my S4X for music but they sadly fall short when it comes to gaming (locating steps, gunshots and so on). Lets hope you guys deliver on that immersive audio promise.
Game audio engine does most of the spatialising but you need heapdohnes that translate well. I was plying MW2 yesterday and was a blast (for the 10 minutes that it worked before datacenters were overloaded) :)
@@olloaudio I can only recommend Hunt: Showdown. I've never seen (heared) another game do binaural audio this well. Playing this game on headphones that do soundstage and imaging well is quite the experience.
@@olloaudio I had them for 4 days now and I gotta say you guys really nailed it. The S5X really reminds me of my Sennheiser HD 800S which is pretty much my go to headphone when it comes to immersion. The S5X has better bass extension and a more confined soundstage (which isn't necessarily bad because the HD 800S soundstage seems artificially wide in some cases). Also the build quality is absolutely amazing and even improves on the S4X which is way up there.
For me it's the exact opposite i hear every step 🤣
I love my S4X so cant wait to check these out!

Hi guys I'm not a producer just a music enthusiast I enjoy very much my binaural recordings, they suppose to be good for that right? I like unique headphones well made like yours + I live in EU so that damn vat will be not a problem :)

I´m just wondering what would be the best pair for me to get.. I want them for mixing my own music no mastering , but I´m making audio for games so wondering if the S5X is the best all round for me..

Hey. Yes, S5X will work great for what you're describing. If you're only in stereo then S4X will translate your mixes better, but for immersive translation a different target is required. Very similar with a touch more high end. So S5X in your case.

S4X are more mid forward, so a better choice for translation with stereo. The S5X are tuned for immersive but just as any immersive studio, you can use them for great results in stereo too. There's less difference between them then tuning of a room for stereo vs immmerisve. Hope this helps.

Question. I own the S4x. And i very happy of course...But at a SOUND level and quality Are these S5x more acurate to mix in Stereo? Worth to upgrade to this S5X if i just mix in Stereo Mode Industry Standard. Thanks! :)
if you're just in stereo, the S4X are really good for translating that stereo image to speakers and other headphones. If you do mix or plan too, spatial audi, then get the S5X as they have better sound stage. It's a pros and cons of sound stage game,....more sound stage helps with placement but it's not helping with purce "volume" balance of the instruments and separation. For now, feedback from users is still S4X for stereo S5X for spatial. But if you wish to have one unit for anything, then S5X is probably more versatile. Rok G.
@@olloaudio Hi Rok, i actually bought allready the S5X, hopping to upgrade from my S4X, because of the more Flat Curve if im not wrong. But now i dont know. I will have both. So my mixes will translate better in traditional stereo on the S4x? Because i thought that the more flat curve of the S5x would be a nice thing for me when i mix on my phones.
Usually S4X perform better in translating your mix balance to speakers in a normal room, than the S5X. But for spatial sound or heavy use of reverbs, the s5x will do a better job. It's about perception of spatialised sound (downmix in binural) that is best perceive with slightly more sound stage, but not too much and slight high end elevation.@@lucasjuniorproducer
Hi - Do you know ? Can i mix stereo projects alone on this kind of headphone alongside immersive audio ? Or are these strictly for mixing other varients of binaural/immersive audio only ? Cheers. sp
Hey. They are tuned to support translation of object placing and spatialization made with binaural rendering. Just as a proper Immersive studio (e.g. Dolby, Sony or Aura) will work just fine for simple stereo, so will the S5X. That said, if you're 90% working in stereo and do not have plans to go full immersive any time soon, then S4X are probably a better choice as those are tuned to translate mix balance between traditional speaker systems (rooms) and headphones.
