- In today’s video we take a more in-depth look at the Beartooth MKII mesh radios. I will also answer the questions I have received from the audience so far. If you have more after this video, please put them in the comment section. Note: before you get upset about the cost of these radios please understand a few things. When buying two-way radios there are two primary factors: capability and quality. The information provided in this video should answer the question on whether these mesh radios offer a capability your communication plan is missing or lacking.

I would like to see more detail on beartooth, and more real world testing. It seems interesting but the price is going to drive away a lot of people. Me being interested, I want to see where its worth the cost difference over something cheaper like meshtastic. You can send pictures, but how long does it take. Looked really slow on the video. What else can it do? I would also like to see a side by side distance testing using the same antenna.
I've had a set of these for a bit and they work great. Beartooth just opened up a public TAK server as well that was wicked easy to set up.
awesome say hello on the server!
I watched the video, but i'm a novice and haven't been able to follow the video well enough to figure out which menu buttons are used, as they fast click through entire process. There isn't any audio to explain it as well. Any help other than re watching the video 50 times more and pausing it 10 times as much.
@@BeartoothRadioInc Will do shortly! Looking forward to what you guys come out with next for ATAK!
@@bobsolla pausing it at key points was how I set it up
@@TrashcanMan8 Got it set up yesterday, thanks! It would've been a lot easier if they didn't fly through the install and dictate what steps they were doing.
What size photos were you able to send? How long did it take to send and receive the photo?
Good question, the software compresses the photo as necessary. I will do some digging to see if I can find the actual size. As for time, I would say 10 to 15 second but I didn't time it. I will be doing more intensive test soon.
I’ve heard that they have a tendency to disconnect from the device they’re paired with with. Is that true with your experience?
So far no, unless I walk too far away from the paired device.
@@EmCommSolutions good to hear. I’m wondering if those reports are from the first gen beartooth device. Thanks!
Another great video Jake.
Thanks!
Shill. It’s $50 of parts for $1400+
If you could build two of these radios for $50 in parts. I will buy them from you all day long. However, that might be a little difficult with the Digi XBee SX 900 Module selling for $112 each and that is just the chip.
This waste of time video was like hearing Charlie Brown’s teacher talking over a phone in the cartoon, and equally unintelligible…😕👎🏼
Ok cool, thanks for the thoughtful engagement.
