    • @charliebaker1427
      @charliebaker1427 7 років тому +126

      Azgor 2.0 yeah rubbing alcohol has acetone added to it which is toxic to keep you from abusing it and not buying real expensive alcohol

    • @hotjanuary
      @hotjanuary 7 років тому +169

      RaidenLP
      Rubbing alcohol has no acetone added. If you get the 70%, the other 30% is water and maybe fragrance.
      Rubbing Alcohol = isopropyl alcohol.
      Recreational alcohol = ethyl alcohol.
      Both are chemically different, which is why rubbing alcohol is toxic and recreational is not (up to a point... liver failure).
      If rubbing alcohol really had acetone in it, it would have been able to remove nail polish, and it would have given you chemical burns when applying it to open wounds.

    Hey Rae, I just wanted to say that you should wipe your brush on a napkin before trying to blend because you need very VERY minimum liquid, both the paint thinner and baby oil work incredibly that way, I use them in my drawing a lot. Just a tip for you to see :)

    • @nickyb2u

      I also think you may have be using too thick of a brush for the oil and paint thinner less is more thinner the brush less it will pick up to have to wipe away. I would also consider using a dry brush alongside the one using the product to blend it in to an even thinner application.

    Different liquids work differently with different pencils. I think paint thinner works better with oil based. Baby oil breaks down the wax. Alcohol drags the colour around and CAN break down the wax, but it depends on how you apply it to my experience.

      I was trying to improve my art since I've put off practicing for two months of my summer. I usually don't practice things if I'm bad at something (Which is why I was bad at the flute...) I'm super insecure about it and don't let anybody see what I draw when I'm drawing it due to a bad experience in, like, first or second grade, but I'm usually fine if the drawing is good. I'll get really stressed if it's bad (Or what I think is bad.) I know this doesn't change much, but I'm going into sixth grade after my summer's over.

    As you have 2k comments, this may have already been said. Oil-based colouring pencils break down far better than wax-based when using odourless mineral spirits. You could also have tried ‘sticky stuff’ remover which works quite well too. For me personally you can’t beat the odourless version of Zest it, and a Prismacolor blending pencil.

      Not a great idea considering most baby oils don’t usually contain drying oils like linseed oil. They will sometimes have mineral oil or if they use vegetable oils they are often saturated oils I.e. oils with low iodine numbers. You want ones with high iodine numbers and unsaturated bonds usually so they dry. Which is oversimplified but basically true.
