Hi , does the chalk paint comes off the plastic container if we don't apply any primer/varnish after drying like the acrylic ones which come out if water is used excessively
Yes, chalk paint will eventually wear off. You can apply a matte finish varnish on chalk paint. But still, use it as a planter pot rather than a pot. This way your work will remain good for a very long time😊
Yes. Adding a primer helps to prepare the base and makes the paint to stay longer. And also the white color primer gives a pop to the color you will apply as top coat. I have a detailed video on this. Will add the link. And yes, you need to varnish the pot after you paint. Let the paint dry very well. Leave it for a day or two. Then apply two to three coats of varnish giving each coat to dry very well in between. ua-cam.com/video/rXzYy5l7DdM/v-deo.html
@@HILDACRAFTY thank you so much mam...i actually tried this technique on my mobile cover..and it feels great.. but though it was a spray paint 1 coat... But after drying the acrylic spray paint is so much gloss..that it attracts finger prints ..all slippery to hold... Do u think the varnish would give grip to it?? Gloss is fine but the smudges all over are evident.
You can use it as a pot. But you will have to varnish the pot after the paint is absolutely dry. Check the description box for varnish. Use the Itsy Bitsy Matte one. But don't put too much water on the pot. If you want it to stay for a very long time, i would still suggest you to use it as a planter😊
Yes Shazia. We need to use varnish to seal the paint. I had made this video during lockdown and I could not get varnish so had mentioned in the description about this step. May I add, that Matte varnish goes well with chalk paint. I have given the link for the varnish in the description box in case you want to check that out😊

Mam do we need to add the primer to the pot and later the varnish to keep the paint for long??

@@maverich22 You can try Matte varnish. The idea to use chalk paint was for the matte look. Acrylic colors leave a shine.
The chalk paint thing that u showed can be used at pot or planter? Meaning will it come off after some time?

Hi. Doesn't it need to secure with varnish?

@@HILDACRAFTY thank you for your concern
Does this need to be coated by varnish in the end like how its done with acrylic colors ?
Yes Anwaya. A matte varnish will really go well with this project😊
