    That Marius guy also supplied around 40% of the parts on my coupé, including a full interior :D Great job with your Coupé, please take us along as you fix the minor things, I would say you have no idea how many Coupé owners are working on similar things in paralell so we will have a look :)

    13:23 Indeed there are many good youtube channels, but as I have said many times before, you really do have a unique and commendable style. Tbh there are so many channels out there that are all the same, trying to be professional but losing the honesty. The fact that you do your videos the way you do keeps them original and I for one really appreciate the fact that they are shot by a real world person (who is also a really good photographer too)

    She's looking great Gav, I'm happy for you that you've got her back on the road 👍 and I don't think 3 years is bad going considering the size of your fleet and the time you must've been devoting to Classic.Retro.Modern. lately. Thanks for keeping us updated here on UA-cam.

    Welcome back Gav! I would say that this 406 is better than average, due to the wonderful story you once told of its owner who won on races and asked for the best 406 you could buy, with all the extras, that are still there, and working like they should. He had a 1992 605 before this as well, so he was definitely one of us. If you don't mind another 40/50 mile drive, then South West Wheel Repairs on Marsh Barton, Exeter would take care of refurbing the alloys, they did a fantastic job of my dull, pitted Honda alloys that had no paint on them before! If I only knew how to upload photos! Their prices are not bad either.

    • @Petrolblog
      @Petrolblog  2 роки тому

      Well remembered. I was actually going through the photos the daughter took as the car was being driven on to a truck. Definitely makes it all seem worthwhile.
      Thanks for the recommendation for South West Wheel Repairs. I remember Matt at Volkscraft speaking highly of them, so I'm hoping to ask them to sort the Camry's wheels. Will keep you posted.

    Lovely setting to announce the road news. Tucked in the greenery ready to pounce. We really don't mind the delay between videos or the three years - you've created an oeuvre 👍🏻😂 that has engaged us and carried us through lockdown and beyond. There are plenty of things still do on your coupe, journeys to have and tales to tell. Not forgetting the rest of your stable (barn) too.

    Restoration completes when the car gets its first MOT in my book. Anything after that is just ownership! Really good to have you back on the Bandwidth Gav, that 406 is superb. Being average is nothing to sniff at, all my cars are average (ok some are quite clean) but they are all lots of fun, which is what it is all about

    Well done, you’ve done an excellent job in bringing this beautiful car back to life.
    Last year I bought my 2.0 Coupe, my dream car as a teenager, and I have enjoyed driving it so much. It really is a fantastic car and other people seem to think so too as I’ve often found people taking pictures of it. With only 500 left on UK roads it’s nice to see another one brought back to life!
    Can’t wait to see more videos of it. I for one don’t mind your rambling…

    Great to see you and the 406 coupe back on here. You have done a great job getting it to where it is now. Now it’s running and you can use it, the other bits can be done as and when. Hope to see you at a coupe meet up soon, don’t forget Peugeot Festival at Prescott Hill Climb on the 12th of July. Be great to see you and the car there. I am hoping to crack on with my channel soon and showcase some of the 8 coupes I currently have including the very first one that came to the uk pre launch. Keep up the good work.

  • @rupertdewilde705
    @rupertdewilde705 2 роки тому

    Welcome back! Please keep making the videos.
    Transmission: Be wary of the 4HP20 box, it's not a sealed for life affair (it is until around 80,000miles). Cost me £400 for diagnostic and oil change, but sorted the stuck in 1st gear for 500m problem. Now I'm only stuck in 1st gear for 50m. Then it frees up and moves through the gears without issue. Suspect dirty old oil clocking the valve box.

    • @Petrolblog
      @Petrolblog  2 роки тому

      Thanks Rupert. I'm probably going to order the oil this week. Your story is encouraging, so thanks for that. A couple of people have told me that changing the oil could open a can of worms, but most people say it's a good idea. I'm leaning towards the latter.

    Perhaps one of the nicest looking cars Peugeot have ever made. Still very accessible on a budget too really for what they are.
    I've got the 2.2 HDI and absolutely love it, same colour but mine needs a load of TLC with bad paint, cracked front bumper and silly little niggles that the on board computer tells me to sort out but without a DPF and remapped, it really goes. Maybe you've inspired me to get it looking tip top again!

    • @Petrolblog
