Robot Wars Series 4 Heat M
Вставка
- Опубліковано 6 лют 2025
- The Adams family return with a new version of their machine that reached the Semi-Finals of The Third Wars, with Wild Thing. The likes of Sir Chromalot and The Steel Avenger look to provide stern competition.
NOTE:
As aforementioned, Heat N will not be uploaded. H2 originally broadcasted the heat, but completely missed out the Heat Final when they went to an advert break, so I deleted the episode as I needed the space and hoped that they'd broadcast the heat again - something they have yet to do. Apologies about this, but it's something that can't be changed right now. Of course, if it is broadcasted, I'll record it and upload it to the Series 4 playlist.
It also feels like the person who made the series 5+intro went through Killalot's on-board camera from this episode and thought "That'll do ,lets use those shots, off to the pub!"
Damn good shots though. Seeing Humphrey fly into the frame was pretty cool.
One of the episodes i have on tape from back in the day; no wonder I remember it so well.

hey NJGW have you called history channel about any reruns on robot wars series 4?
They probably found Behemoth's continued bad luck in the heats just as painful as the rest of us and tried to hide it...
Can you please upload heat n of series 4 please could you do it again
For those nerdy characters (like me) who get upset by a gap in the series, it's here: ua-cam.com/video/honGqtkGfEY/v-deo.html
NP - 6 years later here, and I still enjoy all you've done.
RIP Nick Adams (Captain of Wild Thing).
It's really sad Nick is gone. I wonder if Isabelle his daughter and Jake his son are living their best life outside of Robot Wars.
Ah man Wild thing was a underrated bot I didn't appreciate enough. Sad that the captain passed away but he left a legacy to be proud of
8:21 and 15:27, two shots that are seen in the opening titles from Extreme 1 onwards
I personally believe Gemini did not have an unfair advantage in the main competition or pinball. Sure, there were two robots, but they had the same weight limit as every other team, so each was half the weight as other robots. Also they still had to drive well to earn the win.
Gemini was my favourite pinball run just seeing those two robots cause absolute chaos hilarious.
Maybe not fair necessarily but some superb driving on display
The Sir Chromalot cheerleaders are... hands down... the weirdest cringiest thing in the tenure of Robot Wars, especially since they're all so obviously not enthused with the whole affair
"A lot of work has gone into that routine" Hmm, you wouldn't know it...I hate watching Cheerleaders even at the best of times but putting what looks like 8 year old girls in there makes it especially bad and unfair on them.
Yeah a couple of back flips etc would have made it fun to watch but oh well.
It aged fucking horribly
The child 'interviews' are more cringe. I just keep hoping that there's not a kid on a certain team cuz it's so uncomfortable to watch them ask the kid a question and listen to that 'durr' levels of brain activity answer from a KID of all things.
Yeah Plunderbots helicopter arrival was actually over the top in good way. Sir Chromalot was just cringy
"Look out there's a Humphrey about" I don't get it
What an easy heat for Wild Thing
Agreed. This heat was more or less a free pass to the semis for Wild Thing. Humphrey's team came unprepared with any spare drive chains, and Reactor really struggled to keep up. Steel Avenger managed to make some effort, but not to a great extent. If Wild Thing had the generosity to let Steel Avenger rain down a couple more axe blows before its finishing move, the final would result in less one-way traffic on Wild Thing's part, and end on a more respectable note. Better still Steel Avenger could've swapped heats with Tornado for example, then the strength of competition can be well balanced out.
@@josephilsley3028like Thermidor 2 in Series 7
If anyone wonders had Killerhurtz avoided the pit, qualified for the Heat N final of the previous series, and fought Thing 2? Then this heat final kind of reflects on how the Killerhurtz + Thing 2 encounter will unfold.
Good luck looking at Scorpion without thinking about Chainsaw Man
I knew that CSM was reminding me of something!
Wild Thing: possibly the best robot never to make it to a Robot Wars Grand Final?
Honestly I think there is better machines like Gemini and later Tsunami and 259 that never made it out of the Heats. Even Behemoth never made it until series 10.
Brilliant Math Craig Charles with super band radio waves with strictly 1-4 watts and let's begin the famous past Robot Wars ✔
Steel Avenger Vs Sir Chromalot can be described as "Wait for a good hit".
As a matter of fact, that's what Steel Avenger had planned for this particular fight. Throughout the unedited run, it landed a reasonable number of axe hits on Sir Chromalot, compared to just a lone strike following a string of near-misses as seen in the final cut. I'd reckon the editor in charge was either amateur at best or has a weird sense of humour.
I still maintain that Gemini should not have been allowed to enter the Pinball competition. They're two robots, of course they'll be able to do better than one. Spawn of Scutter the real champs.
I would've swapped Gemini with Thermidor 2
31:28 Strike one!
31:30 Strike two!
31:40 Foul tip...
31:48 Strike three, you're out!
Look out, there's a Humphrey about!
At first I thought chrome-alot was a full body spinner.
Wild Thing virtually had a free pass to the semis in this heat. Humphrey's team came unprepared with any spare drive chains, and Reactor really struggled to keep up. Steel Avenger managed to make some effort, but not to a great extent. If Nick Adams had the generosity letting Steel Avenger rain down a couple more axe blows, prior to Wild Thing's finishing move, the final might result in less one-way traffic and end on a more respectable note.

10:36/13:24-13:27/14:50-15:27/15:44-16:24
Snooty Boy: That's called Scorpion tipping. Ha ha ha!
2:00 6:05 6:19 Is that green drawing a Sonic OC!?
Wild Thing
27:48 - 29:04 Pathetic! It's not as good as the Plunderbird mix from Series 2.
Wild Thing certainly lived up to its name in the first heat. Not sure Steel Avenger knew what had hit it.
Second heat, three fairly futile bots, but Sir Chromalot at least looks the part.
Gemini (as JP said) might have been built for the pinball. They had a two-to-one advantage in scoring over any other single bot. So as far as I'm concerned, Spawn of Scutter still leads.
And Wild Thing repeated its performance, this time with Reactor, shoving it all round the arena. Doesn't JP talk a lot of utter rubbish? - 'Wild Thing will be disappointed with the way it ended'. Why would they be? Reactor failed to score one hit against them.
Was JP watching the same video feed as us? "Wild Thing got to this stage [the final] by beating Humphrey with the Steel Avenger" - well no, Wild Thing spent most of the first heat pushing Steel Avenger around while the house thugbots demolished Humphrey. And as the first heat went, so went the final (but with the absence of Humphrey).
Wild Thing is fast and manouvreable, altogether an excellent little bot.
9:53 Taking notes from Pussycat
30:27 The Steel Avenger are now full strength
31:35 time out
I like how Johnathon says about wild thing "They went out in the semi finals last year, they hope to go one better this year!"
OK, just the first round of the grand final is enough then?
4th or at the maximum 3rd is what they're aiming for? Good-o!
How did Sir Chromalot earn a seed? they're entertaining as all get out, but not exactly a fighting force to watch.
my guess is, as you said, their entertainment value earned them a high seed. I did not care for the first bot. And it did not perform.
@@treasurekings5631 27th isn't a high seed man
Absolutely disgusting that Gemini was allowed to be in a skills competition, let alone the actual competition.
The real competition was a cunning idea and a idea that you was wanted by many but was a crap idea for both too do the pinball warrior....
They had shown skill, actually. Both robots were driven well.
@@dasbanhammer They were driven well, but they had a 2:1 advantage in the Pinball.
In the regular competition, they have the advantage of two robots, but the disadvantage of only being half the weight and easier for another standard-weight bot to knock out. In the pinball these disadvantages don't exist.
@Pope Leo X My point was, in the regular competition, they have advantages and disadvantages which tend to cancel out. On the whole, it's fair. In the pinball, they have a massive advantage of two bots, and virtually no disadvantages - IMO they really should not have been allowed to compete in the pinball.
Some may have derided "Robot Wars", "BattleBots", and "Robotica" as "mindless displays of backyard mechanical engineering".
These people are dicks
Second match sooo bad :D
Hey come on now. You not a fan of nudging contests?
