This was in my opinion the best heat in the history of Robot Wars. They've gone all out with Aftershock, Carbide and Eruption in the same bout. However, my bot of the heat is Gabriel 2 as it took blow after blow after blow from Carbide and managed to damage one of it's tires. What a brave robot.
I disagree. The group battles were one-sided, but were pretty entertaining, especially Carbide vs Gabriel 2 vs Big Nipper. Aftershock vs Gabriel 2 was a tiny bit dull (apart from the big hit and Sir K chopping of Gabriel's head) and the only good parts of Big Nipper vs Crackers n Smash was the huge hit and crackers being sat on, that was funny. Aftershock vs Carbide was fun, but Eruption vs Big Nipper was too one-sided for my liking, which lead to being boring. The third place playoff was really enjoyable, but the heat was finished with a pretty stale heat final with a barely working Eruption, and Carbide landing a few small hits. I wouldn't call this the best heat of the series, let alone the whole show, but hey, thats my opinion.
The new format is much better. Everyone has a lifeline of at least 2 chances minimum, and they all get to battle in a 1 v 1... and the way it works out it has the transparency of knowing you need exactly 3 wins to go through to the series final. And exactly 6 to win the championship. Much better than when you had Thor going out having won 4 times in one episode (luckily they had the wild card at least, but now the 10-way is a much more exciting way to determine the sixth bot!).
Though Gabrial 2 looks like its flailing a sex toy, its crazy how durable that thing is, taking massive hits constantly and still able to move around with ease.
The strange thing about eruption is that, in my opinion, its actually better than Apollo, although it might just be the driver. but when Apollo loses a fight you're like "omg how could Apollo lose?!", when eruption does anything (which is usually winning) you're just kinda like "yay, I guess". For example, when Apollo flips a robot out the arena the crowd goes wild and people are like "woah, Apollo flipped them out the arena". Eruption wins almost every flight by flipping the opponent out of the arena and no one cares
As far as the 10-way rumble is concerned I'm confident Eruption will do well in it, maybe even win. Not only is Michael Oates debate-ably the best driver in the modern series but he's also a master tactician. He can really analyse a fight and what to do with certain robots. As for the series, well I can't see them beating Carbide, so they'll have to rely on someone else to take it out for them.
I have a question for anyone willing to answer. I love Robot Wars, but I am blind. So, I do not know what the weapons look like. Could someone please explain what Carbide's bar and Aftershock's normal spinning blade look like, other than the fact that Carbide's weapon is horizontal and Aftershock's weapon is vertical?
Carbide's blade looks like a broadsword. It has two serifs on each end like claws that tear and bite at their opponent. After shock looks more like a band saw. It's a disc with many teeth that slice through armor in a straight line; or snag on the belly of a robot, flipping it up high into the air.
@MisterRoboDiamond / MRD12 you know that programs who reads the page exists right? It can be a little confusing but many websites have support for this kind of program

Gabriel would never last against the horizontal spinners of Battlebots. Due to the fact that you have HUGE in Battlebots who has the same materiel for their tires yet have even thicker ones than Gabriel yet HUGE against SOW had like 50% of one of the tires just taken completely off. Now Icewave I could see similar fight between them and Gabriel seeing how the bar is about as big and fast as Carbide. But SOW or Tombstone would just wreak them to pieces. Plus the would also stand no chance at all against really any bots seeing how they have a weapon that does no damage. They couldn't use the dumb entanglement things seeing how you can't use those in Battlebots. So they would stand no chance against even the vertical spinners. As unlike Gabriel. HUGE actually has a nasty weapon that has beaten some of the better vert spinners such as Hypershock and they were so close to being Biteforce a bot that has only ever lost one fight and only lost that one fight due to some BS primary weapon rule back in the first 2 seasons of BB while on ABC. Which is no longer the case now that Battlebots is on Discovery Channel.
ok so Gabriel is what you would call a thwack bot think of the likes of overkill from classic battlebots which aren't allowed in battlebots any more but can do pretty well within the live scene in the uk and in the case of this fight carbide is only about 5%-7.5% less powerful then tombstone when it comes to pure power might sound a lot but when hitting the material on Gabriel doesn't really do much and in the case of huge they used a different plastic which is similar but very different as well. the reason huge wheels broke is down to it not being solid and not being the right thickness to absorb the energy like on Gabriel
Gabriel 2 deals quite alot of damage. Its as powerful as most other axes out there. It even disables Big Nipper during this fight, and has destroyed other robots or disabled them before.
Disabled big nipper is a bit of a stretch, that blow would have done nothing to most bots. It happened to get a chain right into the wheel, and with its accuracy record that is damn lucky. Its by far the least powerful Axe bot, besides bots that only show up in one fight, not only that but axe bots are generally low power, In terms of striking power Gabriel 2 is the lowest of the low.
Surprising then that when it comes to damage delt on the live circuit, Gabriel has one of the best records of all the axe type robots. Certainly cost me alot of money to fix after some of the hits its made.
Two of the best and most violent 1st round fights I've ever seen in all 10 series, and it's not done yet!

I don't know. Carbide's battles with Aftershock and Eruption were basically just replays of their fights with them in the Series 9 finale.
Gabriel 2 is the best robot

@Dhanushchess 2006 yeah🔥🔥

Carbide is quite litterally the English version of Tombstone from Battlebots. I'd like to see those two go head to head.
bkriegel95 I was thinking the same.
Tombstone's horizontal bar is probably 4x the size of that though.
Carbide is more like rotator tho
Sarah Jones yup. Yet cobalt didn’t completely work, so tombstone would tear them apart.
