Looks like me trying to land my jet in GTA V
That place is treacherous. My GF flew into that place last year for a vacation. Good thing she made it out alive.
We flew in just recently but back in the cabin we didn't feel much except on short final the pilot made some quick corrections. Taking off was not scary as the Dash8-400 used very little runway.
Dave Shizzles Safer than manny other places in.the world. No accidents here only one in the 70's when the runway was way to.short.
Here only the best pilots will land. Fly with TAP they know.how to fly and land.here.
Cross wind landing...Always tricky...and dangerous...but every good pilot trains for them...
I cannot imagine what it would be like to be a passenger on some of those landings!

Good stuff! Its easy to admire the pilots who made a landing but you should also admire the ones who chose to go around. Always better to do that too soon rather than too late. Might think twice about flying to Madeira on a windy day :-)

This video pales in comparison to the Narita crosswind/stormy landing videos, there's no greater hell than landing in tropical typhoon!!
Try landing a jet (B737) in mechanical turbulence like that on a 3,000' runway (PADU). Been there. And the mountain is closer to the runway at PADU.

angmhalp No.other places to build.in a small.island full.of.mountains. Part of the runway was built over the water and.won and.award for that.
I'm curious as to why they were all coming in on an angle as opposed to coming in straight.

Honestly this is just another day at the office for these pilots.Regardless where they take off or land,crosswinds are just a fact of flying.
+Darius Cameron They are steering into a fierce crosswind, while moving straight down the center line of the runway. Just before touch down, they let the wind straighten out the plane. Timing is everything. It is called "crabbing". Pilots are underpaid. The pilot at 1:40 nails it.
