The Chihuly blanket sold high because of a collaboration with well known glass artist Dale Chihuly whose work and designs are highly sought after. Karl Lagerfield, the late fashion designer, was a prolific fashion industry staple for years. The brand is still strong and his vintage clothes and assessories are also highly sought after. I starting watching your channel because you do great research which I don't have a lot of time to do these days.
Karl Lagerfeld was a designer for Chanel. He recently passed away so his items are more in demand. He had his own line as well.
He also designed beautiful works for Dior
And Chloe and Fendi 🙂
I love your videos. I wonder how a video about trays would be?
I feel like I owe you an apology.... when I heard you say "fox fur, real fox fur" I just about had it . I've got to admit I thought you meant faux. I knew you meant faux & I just couldn't handle it.
But that's not what you meant. You said what you meant. I apologize for doubting you.
I might as well admit that I have a judgement reflex that is far more sensitive than makes sense. I appreciate that you acknowledge what you may be unsure of & are willing to learn. More so you encourage that in others. Well done 👍
Pendleton blankets and jackets are valuable.
As always, very informative. Please, Shabby CHIC is pronounced "sheek" not "chick."
Is that shabby chic the reason why we’re can’t put shabby chic in our ebay title bc she had it copy written?
@@kristapapa5504 yes, it's a copyrighted name.
Oooh. That one I hadn’t been aware of! Good to know.
@@jochildress5003 Rachel Ashwell published a book in 1996 about her decorating style she called Shabby Chic. She built a huge business on her ideas.
THANK YOU! I came here to say this.
Jonathan adler...makes everything! I've been researching his designs especially his dishes MCM. they currently price up to $20 per dinner plate. And prices are rising...worth checking out. I decided to buy one piece at a time.!!
Thanks for the info!
You are so awesome! We know that researching all of this for us is extremely time consuming..but from our hearts we thank you
You are so welcome! I enjoy learning it :-)
HELLO HELLO. Fox fur is the warmest fur there is on this planet. Those blankets are amazing! Don't get stung!
Hello :D
Thank you Kat for your hard work and insight into all things vintage. Pendleton Woolen Mills introduced their Beaver State line of shawls, robes and blankets in 1912 to their product line.
Thanks for the info!
Just one little correction.... chenille blankets, as in the hearts and flowers shown, although vintage are not hand made.
Best moment: "Buy it, guys! BUY IT!!!!" 😂😂😂 Catching up on your older videos while i work. Thanks Kat! 💛😀
You're the best!
😱...I've been collecting silk scarves for years ..I'm sitting on a 🤑stash ... OH I'm so glad I found this CHANNEL...Thank you so much..😁
You are so welcome!
I have a couple of Tammis Keefe hankies!! Amazing, informational video!1 Thank you for sharing!! There are around nine "Lines" of various Ralph Lauren tags. Chihuly is a famous glass blower designer. Pendleton is made in Oregon, The Beaver State!! I have that Shabby Chic blanket!! Shabby Chic does not feel cheap; they use very good cotton on their products!! Shabby Chic; "sheek" Johnny Was is a really expensive brand, and that blanket, brand new was probably around $200- $300 brand new!! Missoni is a Couture Italian brand, highly sought after!! Jonathan Adler is famous for his pottery pieces, interior design books, and needlepoint!! Very famous for his pottery!!
My absolute most favorite thing….linens…vintage especially! Love this video!
Mine too!
I wouldn't say you were too loud...it just shows your enthusiasm. This is what keeps interest in your viewers. I think your vid's are awesome!
Thank you so much!
Nurse here too...on other side of bed now...MBC since 2013...I'm in DFW...addicted to estate sales here...they are good
I bet!!!!
If you're intrested, Karl Lagerfeld--pronounced logger-feld was a famous clothing designer. Shabby Chic--pronounced shabby-sheek. Filson company was est. in 1850. Love your energy!
For Chanel!
Thank you!
I seriously learned more that I will actually remember in this video than a lot of others I've seen. Good job
Anything that says Loro Piana is worth picking up. He does Collabs on a lot of suits and men’s sports coats usually wool and they go for big money
Great to know, thank you!
Another pronunciation fix: chenille is sheneel. Thank you for your very informative videos.
Thanks so much Kat! I have learned so much from you and it is stuff I used to pass by. The sad thing is I no longer go thrifting with friends because I spend too much time looking at everything and they get impatient. So I divide my reseller thrifting and garage sale days for the point of fun or reselling.
Yeah I take forever too lol
Love selling fabrics. HOLY MOLY I can’t imagine selling an $8000 blanket but I’m putting it in my head right now that I will. 🤓 I’ve have yet to see Hermes in person, but I have sold Versace, and YSL. 🥰
You can do it!
Love the video's you've been doing, I learn so much...I have a wool blanket that I let my dog sleep on and low and behold it's a Pendleton Beaver Creek....he's getting a replacement and I'm headed to the cleaners.
hahahhahah that's too funny!
The nativity pillow is beautiful
Ralph Lauren makes all sorts of home goods...including furniture...sheets. blankets pillows quilts, desks, sofas on and on.
I had to check my blankets after this video...I always look at linens...thank you Kat.
You are so welcome!
Thank you for knowing the different types of embroidery (e.g. needlepoint). So many people don't know the difference between cross stitch, crewel, needlepoint, and just plain embroidery. As a person who does handwork it is one of my pet peeves when everyone calls everything needlepoint. And just a little gentle correction--Shabby Chic is pronounced SHEEK, not Chick :)
So true!
The dog pillow is a Staffordshire dog. Staffordshire is very popular!
Thanks for the info!
You are amazing. My eyes are wide open. thank you.
You are so welcome
I used to do what you do 30 yrs. ago, way back before computers when you had to go to the library to find things out My point is I think I have learned more from you in this video then I did when I was in the biz
I'm happy to help. Yes the internet has made research so much easier it's definitely a great tool for those of us reselling!
karl is everything ...
he designed for many but majorly for Chanel❤
I love the info, and I am learning a lot. Your pronunciation of some "semi-common" words is a trip, but I get through it.
WOW! WAY COOL INTRO! You're much appreciated!
Glad you like it
Thanks so much for doing all of that research and sharing with us. I've definitely been keeping my eye out for these items now. I learned so much more today.
You're welcome
That blanket from Peru is probably made from llama hair. Very desirable.
👋👋👋 Out for a quick walk while it's still light here 🌞 See you on a few for photographing & listening. Always a good time!
I LOVED this video! I'm really on the lookout for pillows, throws and other linens thanks to you! Nothing makes me happier then walking into a thrift store and picking through overlooked items like these to find a treasure!
Perfect!
Older styles bandanas marked Made in USA bring in good money Color Fast brand
Thank you!
Great information. Pillows and blankets are usually long life items. I can see these selling for the prices you've shown. I hope you will make a research video on more linens. Like vintage tablecloths, crochet, doilies, hankies, and more. Remember the old tapestries too. Thanks for sharing this informative video. 😉👍❤
You're welcome 😊
Thank you for all your research information. It will be so helpful. Your little boy is so cute and well behaved. He entertains himself so quietly when you have him in the room with you. Please stay safe.
You are so welcome!
Great video, you did amazing on the desk! 💕thanks for the info!
Thanks so much! 😊
What an excellent video! You already had me looking at the linens! And I found a needlepoint pillow at my honey hole! Thanks!!!
Wonderful!
This video was awesome. I’d love to see more like it 💕 I love vintage linens and I do really well with them thanks to you 👍
I'm so glad!
Kat, dear, you and your son, King Dalton are amazing!
Thank you!
Never thought I would be excited to look for handkerchiefs and scarfs til now. Great video!
Glad you enjoyed!
Not sure if anyone mentioned, the Simply Shabby Chic line was Rachel Ashwells less expensive line that was sold at Target. It was discontinued a year or so ago. Great quality and I find it frequently.
Thanks for sharing!!
My mother-in-law absolutely loved this pattern! My sister-in-law got it for her one year for Mother's Day, and when she opened it, I was like oh wow! I remember she had to go to multiple Targets to get the set. Nowadays, it's so easy you can order it and have it sent to your own store.
Thank you so much for this information! I love how excited you are in this video. Your such a wonderful teacher!!!
Thank you so much!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us and helping others learn! Keep rockin’ on!
Thanks, will do!
I LOVE informational videos like this! Super helpful. It would be awesome if you could do one for hats and maybe silverware/flatware (since both are very common items to find at thrift stores and the like).
I'll add those to my list, but I don't find tons so would have to see if I know enough to do one LOL
Very grateful again Kat for all the time, knowledge and enjoyment that you bring to us all🤗. I greatly enjoyed this video. Please bring more😃!!
You are so welcome! Will do I had a lot of fun making it!
Beaver State is not Pendleton. Oregon is called the Beaver State and Pendleton originated in Oregon. I am very familiar with all things Pendleton since I moved to Oregon in 1975.
Wowzer Kat...those sale prices just blew my mind .thank you for sharing as so much appreciated.
I'll be paying more attention..that's for sure.
Looking forward to more of your shopping tips.
Thank you!!
Thanks for watching!
I loved this vid. Really educational! I would like to see you do anything that sells well.
Will be doing more for sure!
I definitely love this type of content. I started paying attention to linens after seeing you videos as I'm not seeing anyone else plug it and would love to learn more, especially with the potential for high dollar sales on items super easy to store and ship, and often overlooked by others. Would love a high dollar breakdown of pottery and glassware. I know it's a huge category but maybe some lesser known BOLOs. Thanks for sharing!
Will add pottery, not sure about glass I would have to figure out more specific to look into
I love picking up pillows and bedding, as always thanks for the video Kat. Great job on your desk! Have a great trip
Thanks so much! 😊
Excellent video, I collect so much of this stuff I keep for shows( which I’m no longer doing !) time to get them listed! Thanks for the info and motivation!
Glad to help!
Hello Kat! I absolutely loved this video. I have been looking more at linens, etc.. This was a great educational tool for me! If you could do more, please do??!! I would love anything on vintage costume jewelry, trinket boxes, and art glass especially. Even one on art glass jewelry 😂! These videos help me so much in better at selecting items to sell. Anything on vintage collectible “smalls.” A lot of people don’t have the room for big collectibles, but love collecting smalls (me included). Thank you for all you do and I cannot wait to meet you in Orlando!
Yes very true, you're welcome. Looking forward to meeting you!
Great research info! Who knew they went for so much money! TFS ❣️
You are so welcome
Thank you for sharing this and all your knowledge, Kat. I'm learning so much from you!! TYTY!!
Happy to help!
Thank you so much for sharing this info!! It is extremely helpful!
You are so welcome!
Love this type of video! So helpful and fun to see the BOLO's. I have sold Pottery Barn and Pier 1 pillows or covers for easy bread and butter items and I have a handwoven tapestry and stitchery kits for sale, too. All undervalued even at Goodwill.
Sounds great!
Would love to see more categories with this type of format, thank you
More to come!
Absolutely love all this content. I made several notes and can't wait to get out there and look for these items.
Have fun!
Thank you so much Kat for your knowledge...always 🙏
You are so welcome!
What a great informative video, thank you for sharing. Also, love your hair colour Kat, very becoming.
Oh thank you!
I love this type of videos. I sell clothing and shoes only but this is very informative. Please keep this type of content coming. Thank you so much! :)
Thank you! Will do!
Hermes is counterfeited a lot. So you have to look for the hand rolled hems, and the quality of the print. Always authenticate prior!! I found and Hermes scarf at the bins!!
I used to find them at the regular thrifts, but that was before EBay and online selling boomed! I bought two amazing ones at a thrift for $.76 each!!! I miss those days lol.
Great tip!
I loved this video on hankies, blankets and pillows!!! Definitely any eye opener. Thank you so much Kat!
You're so welcome
Beaver state refers to oregon... which is where the Pendleton company is located
Thanks for the info
I'm starting out small with items I already own and want to focus on non-fragile, easy-to-ship items, and wow, you have given me some amazing ideas!
You can do it!
You are so kind to share all your knowledge. Thank you❤️
You are so welcome!
Thanks for sharing your research! This is one of my favourite of your videos. Love you enthusiasm. I def want to look at pillows now!
You should!
Love the video, especially since i'm trying to make headway on tons of linen i'm separating and taking pictures of. 2 huge totes full of needlepoint and crocheted. Good Lord! In your video i saw a hanky that looks like 3 i just found and I know will bring me good money. They are extremely vintage, 1950s. Very cool looking. Thanks for so much great information and education. Have a great trip Kat. We are going to a church bazaar tomorrow in Sarasota. Fingers crossed!
You're so welcome, great luck with everything!
This was lots of fantastic information! I love textiles and didn't realize how valuable they are and probably have overlooked many over the years. Now I will be on the lookout for these! Thank you!
You are so welcome!
Thanks for the good information I’m very new to selling on eBay very exciting I’m following you
It’s always a pleasure in watching your video because they are so fill with great information for us reseller . Please keep up more of these video …
Thank you! Will do!
Thank you! So much to look for! I took notes!
You are so welcome!
Loved this!! So much info!!
Glad it was helpful!
It’s the middle of the night and I’m dying to get to the thrift stores so I can look at the linens! Thank you for this, Kat!
Good luck hunting
@ tushygalore Wow, I thought I was the only one who thought about thrift stores in the middle of night! Lol.
@@pamprier4710 😂
Nope me too lol. I watch videos and dying to get to the store 😂
Thanks, Kat, for all your shared info. Have a terrific day!
You too!!
Loving your videos and all the information you give out for free. Thank you!
You're welcome
This was really interesting! Thank you for all the info, I took notes! In case you haven't listed those pillows yet, that "Believe" one is a Mary Engelbreit pattern, she used to be an empire in the 90's with all kinds of crafts but started in rubber stamps. I have the rubber stamp of that particular pattern on the pillow. Hopefully you can get good money for it.
I listed it's not super high dollar unfortunately :(
I definitely love this type of content! Don't forget the waffle blankets with satin seam binding from the 60s and 70s. I found a 'new' one, still in its packaging and factory-folded, on the very top shelf at the thrift store. The young worker looked at me cross-eyed when I threw it in my cart, but it sold super-fast.
Yes! Thank you!
I love the satin edge blankets too. I found an amazing cream colored one with neon ish flowers and bring pink satin with its original tags still on!!! It’s amazing and I priced high bc it’s waiting for the right buyer ❤️
@@kristapapa5504 nice!
Wow Cat! I never give these things a sideways glance! What an education I just got lol. Thanks so much for the info💜
Glad it was helpful!
Great research on soft goods buys ! Have a safe and fun trip w Dalton!!
Thanks! That's the plan hopefully we'll find some good stuff
Totally unrelated but your hair looks really nice! 😊
Oh thank you!
What amazing content, Kat! Just an observation, the winter cabin pillow @ 31:30 that they sold as needlepoint is actually cross-stitch. You can see it distinctly when you did the close-up shot of the stitches @ 31:43. Thanks so much for sharing this information! I've passed up a lot of these items in the past, but no longer.
Ah yes I see it and yeah definitely don't pass them up!
@TheNurseFlipper It's not a big deal, but it looks like it's two different pillows at 35:34 (can't find the flowers on the close-up on the actual pillow on the left). And close up looks more like a factory tapestry woven fabric, not hand made stitches.
Thank you so much. Your willingness to help others comes out in all your videos. Inspirational!! 🙏🙏
You are so welcome
Thank you so very much for sharing a wealth of information. It is so very kind of you to share all this with us.
You are so welcome!!!
Chic is pronounced :sheek.
Thanks for this video! I always look for linen/fabric lots at auctions. Found a vintage 1960s chenille bedspread in a lot purchased for $4. Getting ready to list.
That is awesome!
That’s on my bolo and bucket list to find
My sister's and I all had Chanelle bed. spreds growing up, now I know why she got flustered with me because I would pick at the threads and pull them out!
@@angelajaconetti6929 lol lol
Does anyone know what genuine Hmong “story clothes” sell for now? Newly arrived Hmong refugees were selling them in the early 1980’s for around $200. The artistry and needlework is phenomenal, but the ladies have always wasted their stories by insisting on making them on inferior fabrics ( poly blends). You can identify them by the grey and blue geometric design around the edges.
I loved this video. Always cool to learn what to look for. Thanks for all you do--I appreciate you.
You are so welcome!
Thank you for this type of video. It has opened my eyes to other things that could very well be much better to sell and easier to ship. Thank you, great content.
Glad it was helpful!
Missoni is an Italian brand known for their zigzag knits. They did a collab with Target many years ago. Karl Lagerfield was the head designer for Chanel for years and years; not sure if he still is. His line is available in department stores and discount stores now. Great info!
Thank you so much!
Karl Lagerfield has passed away on February 19, 2019. He was German, and known for his long white pigtail hairstyle.
Not a reseller, still loved this video! So informative 💞
Glad you liked it!!
I really enjoyed this informational video! Thanks for teaching us...love your channel 💯♥️🥰

I am blown away@ Thank you for the info!!!
You're so welcome!
Nice video! I’ve been hoarding vintage textiles for decades, using them throughout the house…and selling some to support my habit. My weaknesses are vintage barkcloth drapes and chenille bedspreads. Vintage fabrics are another BOLO, I recently found about 20 yards (different styles) of vintage fabric that was manufactured by Key West fabrics in Florida. Turns out they are from the manufacturer of Lilly Pulitzer fabrics, from the 1960s, and go for $50-100 per yard on eBay. (Paid about $10 for all, so far sold 1 piece for just under $200. Going to make myself a few skirts before I sell anymore.) Check the selvage edge (printed side edge on the fabric) for the manufacturer’s name and style to search comps. There’s a ton of great names like Schumacher, Waverley, Key West, Zusek and others that bring in big $ and there’s more interest today in folks sewing their own clothes. Just my 2 cents since the linens topic is close to my heart. 🙂
Very nice, I do look at vintage fabrics as well!!! Thanks so much for the tips!!!
@@TheNurseFlipper Happy to share! I’ve learned a lot from your videos and enjoy watching them.
