  • Jake Reviews the new Kaltik V.2 flat frame. Due out in the coming weeks / months.
    As these are prototypes, the max wheel size in the middle is yet to be confirmed. We expect the final product will be able to take 64mm wheels rockered up as long as you are using Frame bolts with a slim head.
    Kaltik says: The Kaltik Flat v2 can be rode with a 72 62 62 72 or 70 60 60 70 Or 68 58 58 68 Flat Or flat rockered up up to a 65mm or rockered down to 70mm flat.

    just bought kaltik v2 flat frame.. aaaaaaaand they suck bum, the top frame is not straight at all, so when you stick to the boot and put tight bolts on its still loose, and you can literally move it on my xsjado boot.. what the fuck??? expensive shit not even straight from manufacture... i am pissed as hell.

    Nice. Not sure if it's an optical illusion, but the groove in the V1's looks a lot deeper and has always put me off them. This groove looks perfect. And that cess slide btw… Yum.

    I haven't skate any other kaltik...but I can tell this frame with the Trigger Beat fits super well.
    I was away from skating for at least 6 years. And since day one I good do some tricks.
    Great frame!!!

    That was such a fun review to watch! It's amazing that such a talented skater like you experienced quick improvements in tricks on your first time on the frames. That must have you so stoked! By the way, I love the content you guys put out on youtube. I live in Dubai (no surprise) and when people ask me where the best place to get skates in the UAE is my answer is Loco Skates. There are no good skate shops here. I have heard from others and I pass on to as many as I can that the shipping speed and rates to Dubai are unbeatable from Loco. People I have referred to you have been very happy with their purchases. I also love how you guys support the skating community in general. It would be great if I could visit your shop some day but for now I'll just keep recommending you guys as the top option for getting skates in Dubai!

    are you just guesstimating when saying wheels can be rockered up/down 1cm, or did Kaltik give that #? looks more like 2cm, maybe 3.

    • @LocoSkates
      @LocoSkates  6 років тому +1

      Yep thats the exact measurements. You could describe it as 1cm 'of' rocker... so a 72mm rockered up and a 62mm rockered down would ride flat. In actual fact that means that the bolt hole itself only moves 0.5cm up or down (cos diameter / radius blah blah)

    Im so torn between the oysi frams and the kaltik flat 2s... ive seem mixed reviews but im still just not certain what the beat route would be. I want a flat setup but to still be able to grind without wheelbite

      @@chilli-iceolive-abode2447 I went for the Oysi medium frames, couldn't be happier! really nice frames, grinds are almost like skating antirocker. beware of wheel choice. it is really hard to align the wheels right to get the bolts through the bearings. Also If the shop has the option to put the spacers in for you, DO IT. for more info check the video of Ruggerounds:

      @@murielchansons Ahh that's awesome! I've got the kaltiks and I didn't really get on with them for grinding. I love the multiple wheel combinations though.
      I have just in fact recently received some medium Oysi frames I got them pink and I've got all black wheels! I'm yet to set them up, but it's gonna look sick. I was worried about fitting the hardware as I've heard it's rather tight. I don't have the option of the shop doing it where I live, so I'll figure it out. I have tried fitting one frame spacer the other day and it seemed okay just had to line it up perfectly.
      I'm glad to hear you say they grind good. I actually laid them side by side next to the kaltiks and you can see there's about a centimetre extra wheel bite protection on both sides of the h block on the Oysi! Also they're lower than the kaltik V2s.

      @murielchansons 4 роки тому +1

      @@chilli-iceolive-abode2447 Ah great! I was actually also considering the kaltik V2 because of the wheel combo's indeed. But indeed, the Oysi have such a large grind area, with groove tricks i actually never got any wheelbite thus far.

    Kaltiks or Oysi frames??
    I'm struggling with this debate at the moment

    • @Alex.Francisco
      @Alex.Francisco 6 років тому +1

      Personally, Oysi. The Kaltiks reminds me of the K2 unnaturals. Yes the groove is awesome for flat, but i've seen some people get wheelbite(due to wrong technique), but i've literally seen no one get wheelbite on a Oysi frame. (90% of people in my town rides flat).

      Sorry, there's a few grammar/spelling errors in your comment, so I'm struggling to see the point you're making.

    • @LocoSkates
      @LocoSkates  6 років тому +3

      I'd base that decision entirely on what wheel size you'd prefer to ride! Oysi is optimised for the 72/60/60/72 and Kaltik more focused on same size wheel set ups.

      if youre asking about v1 kaltiks vs oysi then hands down oysi
      skating oysi on SLs now but i've skated both frames (v1 kaltiks on 2 occasions) and the oysi frames are in a league of their own in comparison.
      im a taller guy and cant really get super low like some people and i RARELY get wheel bite on oysi. on the kaltiks i had pretty much stopped doing several tricks (ie 270 back royale/270 back farve/savannah) on ledges cause it was wheel bite immediately.
      dont get me wrong, i still enjoyed v1 kaltiks because of the control and they are amazing for indoor park skating! and ive seen some friends absolutely kill it on them (street and park) I love the design of these v2 kaltiks so im really excited to try them
      much love and respect to loco skates for supporting the culture!
      and kaltik for doing their thing! i will be buying a pair of these once they drop!

    This is the most dangerous flat-frame I ever skated. If you are grinding a square rail with a groove-trick then you need to take care, that you not land with these bumps before the inner wheels (bumps for wheel-protection) at the edge of the rail. I was landing in hospital because of that after a horrible accident.
