The childhood memories! The fact that after all these years I can sing the theme song and remember the words exactly, says a lot. RIP Anne Heche (Marley & Vicky Hudson).
I can still remember the day we got a VCR and ten year old me had to help my mother program the recording. This one, Guiding Light, and Days were her top favorites. It was so bad my old man told me she used a sick day to watch the Luke and Laura wedding.
This would come on TV right after I got off school in the 80s. This these song is so nostalgic. Would go to my grandmothers after school and sit with her while she watched her stories
1988 and 87 I think are available online there was a lot of Vicki and Jamie I watch 1988 recently and Anne Heche was being bad on there just put in another world 1988 on UA-cam and most of that you should pop up
This song is stuck in my head from my childhood as my mom watched and the enduring visual is that of Anne Heche. I don't remember much about her characters, but I certainly remember her and her as featured in this opening sequence.
I love this and OLTL theme songs! Listening to them now makes me a little emotional and nostalgic. The 80's and 90's were a great time for soap operas. I need a time machine I'm ready to go back!
Brings back a log of memories. My sister and l started watching this during our summer break in 1987 and got hooked for the next few years until the stories got a bit bland.
I remember some of these intros. I used to watch this, Days of Our Lives and General Hospital, when I was really young. That's only because I got home from nursery school and kindergarten, and I watched these with my mom. Man, I miss the late 80s and early 90s.
August, 2022: I was a young child when this song played in the 1980s. My mother always watched these soap operas and I always loved these songs :) Now I am in my 30s and still love it. From Alberta, Canada-Thank you.
Growing up I can remember listening to this theme song before I take a nap every day after school. My mom would watch this. I have always enjoyed the theme song. It's like my personal lullaby. To this very day I will listen to it before I take a nap
This was one of my mom’s favorite soaps. I watched it with her sometimes as a little girl, and I always thought this was the most beautiful song❤ I still love it to this day.
I never watched this show or "Days", but Soap Opera songs from the 80's and 90s make me get immediate goosebumps all over my body. Such a better time. My grandmother would watch soaps during the day while helping to raise me while my single mother worked her ass off to support me. I absolutely loved my Mema. I miss those perfect days.
Takes you back to better days , most likely . I know for me , back when I watched this with my mom, we had a full house for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners , now , it's just me and my dad .
I remember loving the theme song. So Wonderful. Rest in peace Anne Heche. So many great actors Linda Dano, stephen scnetzer. Judi evans Filming right in Brooklyn New york.
My sister sent me this video and it quickly reminded me of when I used to tape this and other soaps on VHS for my sister and her friends to watch and catch up on during the weekends. I was the only one that knew how to properly work the VCR. I personally think that there needs to be an all soap opera streaming service with old episodes. The companies that hold all of the videotape libraries need to get them back out there and I know for a fact it would generate a ton of money.
Wow, GREAT job compiling all of the different versions and variations of this iconic intro! I watched through the whole thing and there were so many cast shots I instantly remembered from the entire run of the Gayle/Morris intro.
This song immediately brings me back to being 9 or 10 years old, being so intrigued by this show! Who shot Jake? Who is Felicia's daughter? Who fathered Vicki's son, Steven? Who will Marley sleep with this week? Will Iris steal the company from Mac? I would literally run from the bus into my house to catch the last 15 minutes of each episode. Can't imagine my 9 year old watching AW and loving it as much!
Did you know that she did a couple of guests appearances on the show playing herself in one the episode s she fights off a serial killer and wins and she sang that theme song that's how they introduced it to the Audience when she sang it at Felicia restaurant
Such a huge part of my early years. AW was the only soap I watched on summer breaks, and in '94 I got a VCR for my B-Day so I could record it and watch it during the school year too! I stopped watching around '97 when all the changes kinda made it unwatchable, but now I wish I could watch it again.
Ikr. AW was not DAYS and it needed to be left alone to be what it was. NBC traded AW and Santa Barbara for crap shows that couldn't hold a candle to that lineup. Sorry passions and sunset beach fans.
Back when all three of the major networks had soaps that viewers can have a choice of watching NBC: Days of our Lives, Santa Barbara, Another World CBS: Young and the Restless, Bold and the Beautiful, As the World Turns and Guiding Light. ABC: All my Children, One Life to Live and General Hospital Not sure if I missing any soaps, but now it's pure talk shows(The Talk, Drew Barrymore, Kelly Clarkson, etc), reality, and game shows(family feud etc.) that are occupying the afternoon time slots that the soaps used to air. I believe Y&R, B&B, and General Hospital are the only soaps left airing. Really sad for fans of afternoon soap operas.
You are my way You are my way To Another World To Another World You are the one who makes me fly so high You are the rain when my spirits run dry You give my life You give my life A hope that’s real Cause when I’m with you You take me away to Another World
Who's the kid on the air drums??? Matt Cory Also, the black couple, I forgot their storyline? The woman stirring her drink with her finger is Paulina???
Mac and Rachel. A true super couple. They had their flaws and remarriages, but always came back to each other. Wish they could have paired Rachel with Cass after Mac died, instead of Carl.
"You are the one that makes me fly so high, You are the rain when my spirits were dry" If that isn't so freaking beautiful. Growing up in house full of females, over definitely heard this a lot
I used to watch this. I cannot remember who sang this. I’m thinking it’s Chrystal Gayle and I can remember the male singer. I remember Morgan Freeman, Ray Liotta and Anne Heche from that show
Mom's 2 soaps were Days and another world. I was sad when they canceled AW. I did watch the replacement passions, but felt it was too copycat with real headlines.
The childhood memories! The fact that after all these years I can sing the theme song and remember the words exactly, says a lot. RIP Anne Heche (Marley & Vicky Hudson).
Like you, I headed here when I heard she died.
I can still remember the day we got a VCR and ten year old me had to help my mother program the recording. This one, Guiding Light, and Days were her top favorites.
It was so bad my old man told me she used a sick day to watch the Luke and Laura wedding.
And RIP Ray Liotta (Joey Perrini).
fond memories watching this with my mom
Me too! Anne was so beautiful and talented 😢
This reminds me of being sick and staying home from school as a kid lol
Awww
True… but right after Another World I jumped to Guiding Light!
Wtf thought I was the only one lol
Watching this and days of our lives and Somerset and Texas and Santa barbara
This would come on TV right after I got off school in the 80s. This these song is so nostalgic. Would go to my grandmothers after school and sit with her while she watched her stories
Dodgy sets and often storylines that rumbled on for ages but still my favourite soap opera EVER ! Love from Ireland 🇮🇪 ❤️
Takes me back to high school. This, DAYS, and Santa Barbara- the holy trinity of awesome soaps!
The NBC soaps where the best back in the days ❤
Another world had three spinoffs one was called summerset and the next was Texas for sure.
Thanks for putting this together. It brings me back to my teens/college days when I'd either tape it or run back from class to watch with friends.
I can remember watching this soap in Middle School, back then there were no cell phones, life is more simple.
Thirty some years later I still remember this intro and show like it was yesterday. I wish they would air it again!
1988 and 87 I think are available online there was a lot of Vicki and Jamie I watch 1988 recently and Anne Heche was being bad on there just put in another world 1988 on UA-cam and most of that you should pop up
RIP Anne. One of the most talented actors to ever come from soaps.
Don’t forget Ray!
This makes me miss the Soap Opera Network so much! My grandma and I would watch this and GH on the network all of the time!
I love this intro. I've never even seen the show but remember this intro from when my grandma would watch her stories. Lol
The new into for another world was done by crystal Gayle and Garry Morris ok.
This song is stuck in my head from my childhood as my mom watched and the enduring visual is that of Anne Heche. I don't remember much about her characters, but I certainly remember her and her as featured in this opening sequence.
Haha my “enduring visual” is the kid with the drums. I like yours better :)
The theme song is addictive and it reminds me of my childhood .
I remember my mom and grandma watching this, days of our lives and young & the restless when I was a kid in the 80’s/ 90’s.
Reminds me of my mother God Rest Her Soul ❤
I was hooked on Another World when I was a kid! always was my favorite soap! well, thst and Days Of Our Lives!
I love this and OLTL theme songs! Listening to them now makes me a little emotional and nostalgic. The 80's and 90's were a great time for soap operas. I need a time machine I'm ready to go back!
Take me with you....drop me off at Santa Barbara!
I loved OLTL theme song from that time too. I'm going to look that up now.
Brings back a log of memories. My sister and l started watching this during our summer break in 1987 and got hooked for the next few years until the stories got a bit bland.

Beautiful belated merry Christmas and happy New Year to all of The soap fans around the world

😭 bring back the simpler times!! 😭
I know. No computers, no cell phones, and lots of soaps on during the day.
I 🤗 Wish U Special Comfort
I know! This was when soaps were so good! Nothing compares to the talent of these beautiful people and crew!
Growing up I can remember listening to this theme song before I take a nap every day after school. My mom would watch this. I have always enjoyed the theme song. It's like my personal lullaby. To this very day I will listen to it before I take a nap

A show that I will always remember Anne Heche for. May she rest in peace.
And RIP to Ray Liotta. He also got his start here.
Days of our Lives..Another World and Santa Barbara..I miss those days...
Man, the memories. I watched this and Days any time I was home from school and summer breaks.
Why does this make me wanna cry.
Takes you back to better days , most likely . I know for me , back when I watched this with my mom, we had a full house for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners , now , it's just me and my dad .
Well I just did man I miss my nana and her mom my great grandma so much’
Ah, Summer of 1988 my sister and I, who were headed to Jr, High in the Fall spent every weekday hooked on this Soap. Good memories.
Wow, that brings back memories!
Childhood memories unlocked
I remember the summer time in 86 or 87 my mother made me record this for her
Hurrah! Thank you for this fantastic trip down memory lane.
ANOTHER W🌎RLD The Daytime Soap Opera Of All Time On NBC
I remember loving the theme song. So Wonderful. Rest in peace Anne Heche. So many great actors Linda Dano, stephen scnetzer. Judi evans Filming right in Brooklyn New york.
And RIP to Ray Liotta.😢
They had this on the TV in my daycare during our naptime (other days, it was CBS' soaps).
Well CBS did the same thing they got rid of soap history like NBC did as well as ABC too ok.
Thank you. Brought tears to my eyes. But in a good way.
Thank you for compiling this!!!
Edit: And loving the CTV reference! I grew up watching this on CFCF in Montreal!
My sister sent me this video and it quickly reminded me of when I used to tape this and other soaps on VHS for my sister and her friends to watch and catch up on during the weekends. Watching this takes me away to another time…and another world :). Thx for the memories ❤😊
Felicia, Vicky/Marley, and Matt (my first ever man-crush, I was a grade-schooler) were my life as a dramatic little suburban boy.
I think Matt was everybody's first crush. He's still hot all these years later!!
I never watched this but clearly remember the theme song on the radio. I was 6, maybe 7 years old.
nostalgia has entered the chat.
How many years did Matt Crane have to play the drums in the opening credits? It kept him young at least. LOL!!!!!
What episode did he do that?
I believe that sequence came in 1988 and ended in 1996.
Excellent compilation with changing actors
Wow, GREAT job compiling all of the different versions and variations of this iconic intro! I watched through the whole thing and there were so many cast shots I instantly remembered from the entire run of the Gayle/Morris intro.
Thanks for this delightful trip down memory lane. Another World had the best theme song.
Loved this show
My favorite personal soap opera!! This and the guiding light
Spectacular taste!
This was second favorite Soap Opera. Santa Barbara was my absolute favorite.
So many memories ❤❤
awwww great memories of my childhood

Love this, thank you 😊
Rest-In-Peace, John Aprea (1941-2024) ❤
My mother's friend was actually in this show (1989-1999). Ironically, she wanted to be an actress since she was child.
Which one was it?
@@ryanortega1511 Alice Barrett (Now Alice Barrett-Mitchell)
Too many memories ❤
Awww from Elementary to High school my school years thank you Another World 👏👍😉
Love this theme
This had a 35yr run, and I never heard of it. And we watched stories in my house.
Wow you missed out on a good one!!!
Back then did not know Crystal Gayle sang the theme.
It should be in her concerts in Laughlin.
I never knew that!
Did you know that she did a couple of guests appearances on the show playing herself in one the episode s she fights off a serial killer and wins and she sang that theme song that's how they introduced it to the Audience when she sang it at Felicia restaurant
Had no idea Williams J Bell creators of YNR And BnB also created Another 🌍
Yup he co created with Irna Phillips this show
Amazing
God I loved watching that show. Rachel and Mac were an awesome couple. Oh and miss Felicia Gallant and her outfits.
Sure miss those characters/actors.
Praying for a speedy recovery for Anne Heche..
Awww Matt Crane ❤😊

Who's the kid on the air drums??? Matt Cory
Also, the black couple, I forgot their storyline?
The woman stirring her drink with her finger is Paulina???
That was best intro they should've have left it with this intro until the end of the soap.
Hi everyone! Would someone please tell me who the actor/character is at 00:43 seconds in? He has the tux with the red bow tie. Thank you so much!
I refer you to this page:

That’s Steven schnetzer aka cass Winthrop
Mac and Rachel. A true super couple. They had their flaws and remarriages, but always came back to each other. Wish they could have paired Rachel with Cass after Mac died, instead of Carl.
I agree with you. Rachel and Cass would have made a better couple after Mac died
So this is the soap opera that howard sterns look a like was in charge of the music.
Sung by Crystal Gayle and Gary Morris
Another World. Bay City, Illinois. 5/4/64-6/25/99. Episode 8,891
"You are the one that makes me fly so high,

If that isn't so freaking beautiful. Growing up in house full of females, over definitely heard this a lot
At the time I never thought it, but now? Stephen Schnetzer was one sexy man.
Wasn't he? For the ppl who wanted brains too.
& he still looks great ALL these years later
0:00 A primeira com a abertura de 1981-87.
I wonder if anyone else remembers when they spelled Rachel's name Rachael. Not sure when they changed it in the credits.
I used to watch this. I cannot remember who sang this. I’m thinking it’s Chrystal Gayle and I can remember the male singer. I remember Morgan Freeman, Ray Liotta and Anne Heche from that show
It's in the description.

The continuing story of
What happened starting in mid-1996 was the worst era in the soap’s history.
So true
Jill Farren F*cking Phelps!
