Good review. I have been wearing the HJC IS-max 2 for 8 months and it is really the best bang for the buck. This helmet can be purchased online for $170-$210 ,add a $26.00 pinlock insert and the $6.00 Chin curtain and you have a premium quiet and cool helmet for under $250.00. Better than many other brands at 2-3 times the price. My $.02

Hey Chris, did you have to use 3m Heavy duty Velcro to attach the Sena 20s to this or could you use the Sena Mount? I have a Fulmer m2b that is no longer DOT certified looking for a replacement. Dude every time I look for a video on gold wing your there. Great reviews. Jake
I did wonder why you use or wanted the tinted visor as opposed to using the flip down shade. good review. I tried one on at the motorcycle show, my usual xl, it actually didn't feel bad, just I think maybe they run a size small. I wasn't sure, and would have looked for the measurements on their site. They wanted 160 for it. 20s is nice. I have the smh10 and the smh5fm.
+dbest1a Vlogs I have different shades of tint that I keep in my saddlebag depending on when i ride, a dark tinted visor on a bright day works perfectly for me. At dark, switch to a clear visor for max visibility.
I use the drop down with my tinted visor all of the time. I can see through both of them at the same time just fine, it just totally depends on how much light that I try to keep out.

Hello, great review. I was looking to purchase a modular helmet for my wife. I was looking at the Shoei neotec but the price is still way too high. +The Phantom Orange I've never purchased, or used the sold separately chin curtain, but for the price the helmet is quite if you have a good windshield, but on a crotch rocket, I'm not certain. What kind of bike do you ride?

so if you out riding with five guys and your wife calls you on the phone and all ou guys have that 20s system. Will everyone else hear your conversation?
Very good question John, the answer is no, the 20s has two modes, intercom mode, and phone mode. When you are out riding and communicating with other bikers you will be in intercom mode, but if the phone rings, you will hear it in your helmet only, you will then press the phone button on the main unit, this will disconnect you from intercom mode with the bikers, and put you into a private phone mode with your caller, if you want the caller to be in the intercom mode with your group, you will then press the intercom button to transfer the caller from phone to the intercom mode (like 3 way). Otherwise just to talk privately, press the phone button, once to answer, press again to hang them up. After you end your phone call, the 20s will be in standby mode, press the intercom jog dial to connect you back to your riding group, or the phone button to make another private phone call.

Any open face helmet will have more noise than a full face helmet, the HJC IS Max 2 helmet will cut noise tremendously.

I was wondering how difficult it was to remove the neck roll so that you could clamp the 20s.
Its very easy, only takes a second.

It shouldn't be glue in, maybe two snaps.
The neck roll doesn't have to be removed, but it would be fast to unsnap it.
Just check with you on the road test. It is more quieter with or without the chin curtain?
