- All these items can be found very cheaply on eBay. Simply search eBay for "Rode SmartLav" or "TRS to TRRS adapter". Be very careful about which end is male and which is female. It is probably a good idea just to get both!
Generally I recommend going with the genuine Rode gear.

I would like to know if I can use this Rode Smartlav for my iphone SE without downloading any app? Can i just plug it in and use the standard iphone recorder app? Thank you!
Sure can. It is actually the best mic I have in my kit despite the fact that it only cost me $75.

Yes that’s the one. It’s annoying to have to use the lightening adapter for newer iOS devices, but if you are a Android user of any manufacture, then you should be fine.
