Thank you for the comparison, I've got a Lav and a few other Mics. One thing I think that's important to remember - poor Video quality won't necessarily ruin your video but poor Audio always will, so I'm quite happy making sure that I've got that covered.
Great video, thanks so much! 💜 4:58 One remark: bleutooth earbuds or headphones add a tiny audio delay, so using wired headphones to monitor incoming audio is generally better for more critical recording.
Question. Do I need to use ear bugs when I’m using a lab wire type mic? If I’m just doing social media vids etc. no interviews just me talking. Do I need ear bug to cancel out noise?
I don’t year and years of my UA-cam career trying to hide my microphone to seem more “professional” but i think for most creators/influencers it doesn’t matter if your mic is seen and in fact it’s more authentic.
For small and mobile shotgun, I love the VideoMic GO II from Rode. Especially with USB-C iPhones now, it makes everything so much simpler and is really versatile with the 3.5mm jack acting as a headphone monitor OR as an output, depending on your task.
Small mics were designed to be hidden, and now it's a trend to have them in plain sight. Reminds me of some dude who clipped his rode mic onto a stick and held it with both hands. Like, why?
I must say that this video is so well put together! Your work needs more regignition🗯🔥. I must ask you 1 question: Do you have any problems with your Dji mic? I just ordered Dji mic and after that I start hearing that it has so much problems "1 audio delays", 2 sometimes audio goes off during recording and a bit more😅🤔. Should I switch to Rode wireless (pro) instead😇✌
I find the "in the hand" mic setups records wayy too much treble to the point where it's uncomfortable. I wouldn't really turn up the treble much in post if i recorded while having the mic sitting on my shirt.
Hey! I recently got an iPhone 15 pro and I would like to record stuff with it. I really like ambiant sounds of rain, ocean waves and more and I would like to know what mic you would recommand to record on the default recording app of the iPhone, or something else if you have a better idea 🙂
Great video! Tyler can you share what equipment (microphone, camera or iPhone) you are using in the clips from your livingroom/kitchen - really good sound for a brand video. Thanks, maria
With this microphone, can I record reels directly within Instagram using an iPhone? I've tried doing this with a Bluetooth microphone, but Instagram only captures the audio from the phone's microphone.
Unfortunately this didnt answer what i was looking for. I want a mic for outside that stops wind, and picks up my voice and other peoples voices that are away from me like 20ft. Ive tried shotgun mics but they never work how i want and usually a hissing noise. I hold a selfie stick as my setup. Like i want it to be a bit discrete unlike a shotgun mic, but i need it to pick up my voice and someone away from me with wind prevention. Kind of like a mic for pranks
i cant get tiktok to connect to my wireless headphones at all. they work fine but the voice over defaults to the phone mic. anyone know how to deal with this?
I find apple’s ear buds a weird shape, they hurt my eyes. I loved the 3.5 mm Jack Powerbeats by Dr Dre. They were an ear bud, the hook went over your ears. They wire was in the way yet they were easy to use and had volume control and could hear an educated version while recording on the Smule app. Now I use an iPhone 6 or 7 as they have a lightning port. I’ve got an iPhone 11 I need to set up and try too. Dr Dre Powerbeats used to sound nice and bright on Smule with earlier iPhones like 4 and 5. Now they have changed to a lighting port or wireless. The sound isn’t as good. They are more expensive Anything that sounds similar thats budget friendly? Otherwise what are Lark dupes like?
Does anyone on UA-cam have the actual answer? Seems none of the mics in this video were sadly good enough. Is the only answer to do work in post? The whole reason to use Riverside is to not do that extra work in post. Audio is key - hence more mics need to be tested. Wireless is also not the best option for remote guests as they will struggle to set up.
Unfortunately he's right, the best sounding setups are also the most complex and least suitable for quick and easy recording on a phone. Ideally you'd record audio separately into a laptop + audio interface or field recorder, which solves some of the issues, but then you have to sync the two in post. Which is doable, especially if you do "take 1 .. " at the start of recording, but still a bit of a PITA.
Shotgun sounds the most full. DJI has a higher sound I would do a comparison between the wireless mics like the hollyland M1 vs DJI vs Rode Wireless Pro etc.

you also gotta make sure you’re not using the headphones mic b/c those always sound, weirdly awful imo
@@Stcroiss Absolutely, thanks for articulating this.
am i the only person impressed by the 10 dollar tiny amazon mic ...wow
Oh me too, I didn’t see that coming. It’s weirdly good
im only impressed that is 10$ on amazon. I got it for 3$ in 2019 and used it as my main desktop microphone for a while
@@mutanthorrorshowme too lol

@@FUNNYMANERICWHITE You need it if your computer is going to make any noise. But it's a best general practice.

I think it looks better
Same. Hiding just seems cleaner.
Tyler, you have a really fantastic style of communicating.
I have the fulaim x5, they are practically the same as the dji ones with 1/3 the price of dji and they sound amazing. Perfect ones, really recommended
Great job mixing up the locations on this one - lovely setting!

What kind of mic are you using to record this video?
For what is basically a multi-product review, this was pretty engaging

I’ve never had problems with it, but so far the Rode is mostly much better
@@stalman thanks🍀
Good video again, Tyler! And it kinda itches our never ending curiosities to sound best, too.

This was a super informative video - thank you for putting it together!
What a great Vid thanks Tyler !!

THANK YOU. i was trying to research this a while back & found nothing at all 🙏🏼
What is the tripod you are using with the iPhone outside?
Hey, which of these mics would you recommend for handpan livestreams for tik tok/instagram?
Thank you! Awesome to know that my iphone mic is a good option for me while I'm getting started

Can you do one between the DJI Mic and the Rode Pro?
Great content! Is there a mic for the iPhone 14 Plus that can completely eliminate background noise? Thanks!
Thanks for the vid! So, you are recommending the Rode over the DJI. Did I get that right?

Are you able to find out good mic?
Which mic is best for the iPhone 15 please 🙏
You are so good! Thank you for this amazing video
whats the tripod you use for this video?
Very helpful and informative. Thank you :)
Why can't they make them the same size as Shure Sm-58s?
What microphone would work best for asmr?
What is the tripod you're using in this video for your phone?
If I tape the Hollyland Lark M2 mic to my chest under my shirt, will it pick up audio with the same quality?
if you put fabric over top of any mic it will reduce the quality, but it's still common practice. Just do some testing various shirts.
What do you think about rode wireless go II Bluetooth?
i cant get tiktok to connect to my wireless headphones at all. they work fine but the voice over defaults to the phone mic. anyone know how to deal with this?

Can I use as mic the apple airpods?
Anyone know where he got the deity lav mic from I can’t find it?

Should have tested these in the car. I hear/see so many people recording in the car.

@@raymondcusick354 Uniqlo, they made it special for the Calgary stampede
what about best mic for tiktok duets where you have to hear at the same time.
For the best quality, listen through Bluetooth headphones and plugin a large mic with volume controls
I HATE watching people do interviews with that little stupid fu*king Amazon mic... but it actually sounds decent. Im so conflicted now 🤣.
The direct plugin without a dongle for the DJI is incredible
isnt the receiver kind of a dongle though
Thanks
Can you use AirPods Pro built in mics to record audio with?
There are ways to do it with third party software but i never do it
the shot gun mic sounds best but its soooo bulky
Rode Wireless ME by far is the best.

There is one more option to sound like a pro and is for free. It is adobe podcast enhance.
Now I feel like the problem is my voice, not the mic lol
iPhone always sounds good without mic
All great just the autofocus jumping is distracting sometimes
Shotgun sounds the most full. DJI has a higher sound
I would do a comparison between the wireless mics like the hollyland M1 vs DJI vs Rode Wireless Pro etc.
great comparison
Best one is the one for 10 bucks from amazon 😁
