Awesome video! You saved me from having to buy an air compressor today! My check valve had a bunch of gunk in it, reinstalled, and works great now. Thank you!
Thanks a bunch for creating this video. You have a nearly identical compressor to mine, which had the same failure mode. I bought the absolute cheapest valve available on Amazon (under $20) and so far, so good. 🤞
I have the same one these things are monsters never had a issue in 25 years still runs great just had a reed valve crack and got them on order for 10 bucks hopefully it fixes it.
Hmm my uncles started leaking yes its old but it's not in bad shape it's been in a shop away from the sun so I'll take a look cause there to expensive to get a new one atm and in out in the countey I need it. Thanks for posting.
I had this exact problem with my craftsman compressor just short of 39 years after purchase. replaced the valve and everything is back to normal. now to see how many more years I can get out of it.
@@BustedBeaters nope put the new check valve on and it still leaking out air from the pressure switch. The unit was made in 99 and has a one peace manifold. I think I'm going to just put a newer pressure switch, regulator with pressure and safety relief valve on it.
You managed to explain in words how an air compressor works (not just the pump mechanism) better than any animation I could find. Thank you.
Hats off to explaining that so concisely. In a world of bad DIY videos and explanations you did excellent.
Appreciate that!
Excellent explanation ! I have the same exact compressor and problem. Will be chafing thr check valve soon. Thanks a lot.

Hope it works! It's pretty wild how tough they are. I work mine very hard and it just keeps running!
Great video!!
Mine appears to be leaking inside the on/off switch itself. I'll go ahead and examine the check valve however. Thanks for the great explanation.
Good luck getting it fixed!
