Classic Alan Menken, this track should've won an Oscar. Catchy, patriotic, and altogether empowerful during a very dark time in history, it was Disney's first involvement with the MCU after the Marvel purchase and a sign that things were going to get even better both for the country & for the MCU as a whole
Oh man, don't remind me. This was the disastrous year where only two songs were nominated, and one of them was the wrong song from The Muppets. Still upset Life's a Happy Song wasn't in there. And despite having only two songs, they didn't even perform them during the ceremony. It was an utter fiasco.
+AdamAtAmetrine You'd think they'd nominate this: It's a good song and VERY integral to the narrative of the film which is what that category was supposed to honor.
Correction: Because it talks positively about America at all. The Oscars have become nothing more than a bunch of self-congratulation, by Leftists who run much of Hollywood. And if there's two categories Leftists can't stand, its anything patriotic and Godly.
Well, IW shows him at his most different...his "darkest" perhaps, but that Steve is very much the same one who went against orders to singlehandedly rescue an entire batallion from an enemy camp.
I've always thought it was hilarious that the first movie Marvel made after being bought by Disney has an Alan Menken song in it. Probably just a coincidence, but still funny.
So nostalgic. They just found Cap. Cap, Tony, Bruce, Clint, Natasha and Thor weren't Avengers yet. Nat and Tony were still alive. Sometimes I'd really like go back in time to watch in a cinema Avengers, Phase 2 and Phase 3 again 😪
Oh man... However flashy, flamboyant, corny/cheesy this song and the whole Star-Spangled Man performance is still very accurate for the times. I mean... this is just crazy as how it is how it is, but it still was a great addition to the film to make it realistic for 1942-1943!!!
I think the song with background are sad cuz it has a happy theme with a dark and gloomy image that shows his reality. I wanted a scene in avengers where he watches clips of his performances. I want Peggy to return.
It would’ve given me goosebumps if Tony started playing it as a form of motivation for Steve during his fight with Thanos. It would’ve been goofy as hell, but I would’ve loved it
Not all of us can storm a beach or drive a tank. But there's still a way all of us can fight. Series E Defense bonds. Each one you buy is a bullet in the barrel of your best guys gun.
I don't live in America but I hope one day I will. Sure they've made some mistakes in the past but its a beautiful country. I am totally obsessed with Captain America. I love him like mad . Steve Rogers will always be my hero!
Hi, let me point out that this particular song wasn't composed by Silvestri, but by David Zippel and Alan Menken. In case you wan't to fix it on the description ;) Cheers
Not all of us can storm a beach, or drive a tank, but there's still a way all of us can fight. Series E Defense Bonds! Each one you buy is a bullet in a barrel of your best guy's gun. Each one you buy is a bullet in a barrel of your best guy's gun! We all know this is about time to win the war. But we can't do that without bullets and bandages, tanks and cannons. That's when you come in. Every bond you buy, can help protect someone you love. When you want boys armed and ready, The Germans will think twice about trying to get a drop on us!
Who could've thought that this kid from Brooklyn will meet a billionaire wearing an iron suit, the God of Thunder, a scientist who can turn into a green raging muscular being, a pair of assassins, fought an army of aliens, a Nordic trickster, a soldier having a falcon winged jetpack, a reprogrammed best friend, a colonel wearing a suit full of missiles, SMGs and Rocket Launchers, an android, a girl with psychic powers, a rogue AI robot, the King of Wakanda, an ex-convict who can turn into a size of an ant or a giant, a kid having the power of the spider, a talking tree, a raccoon cyborg, a maniac, a kid from Missouri (which he doesn't know first), a girl with antenna, a blue female cyborg, a doctor with mystic powers, a woman having the power of the Infinity Stone and of course the Mad Titan holding a Gauntlet.
This should have been nominated for an Oscar for best song, and that whole "war bonds" stage routine should have been done at the Academy Awards show, with the girls, with the red white and blue lighting, and Cap knocking the fuck out of Adolf Hitler.
I am Mexican and when I hear this an American patriotism enters me, even wanting to carry the flag of the USA and march to the rhythm of this song hahahaha
Hi guys! I'm not an American and of course not from any other countries where people speak in English. So, I confused what does the Star spangled man with a plan mean. Is there anybody tell me what means 'THE STAR SPANGLED MAN WITH A PLAN'? Dose it mean 'Captain America has a plan'? or 'Captain America is reborn with a super soldier plan'? I think the plan means the Super soldier plan. Am I wrong?
Punches Hitler in the face over 200 times.
"I dunno if I can do this".
"Sure you can. Bonds buy bullets. Bullets kill Nazis. Bing bang boom. You'll be an American national hero".
My canary listened to this and turned into a bald eagle.
THAT, friend, made me about laugh myself right out of my chair. Well played indeed :)
Lol
Next time, try it with a black canary.
😂
@@scourgescourge4202 No... you need a blue canary, a red hawking, and a white dove to form the bald eagle.
2:21 always gives me this giddy feeling. I've always loved how they said "Captain America".
Thought i was the only one
totally agree
Agreed, 100%
Me too
🎵Cap-tain A-mer-i-ca🎵
Always makes me smile.
Not all of us can storm a beach, or drive a tank, but there's still a way all of us can be involved!
+Hutch 1223 The Spiderman picture makes that comment perfect
DarthMessias guess he changed it to guy
Thinking about it now it’s kinda sexist
"I think they only know the one song"

Dennis Reynolds The Golden God I Got that reference
andy edwards i got that reference.
A cruel irony with a light hearted, patriotic song playing with a beat down Captain America in the background.
This scene made me cry, it was cruel.
It was meant to match the juxtaposition of how even in times of great trial like ww2, Americans still found their cheer and optimism.
This song was robbed of an Oscar nomination. Screw Rio.
BigOcto914 Rio was better. *Grabs popcorn
This really didn’t go the way you thought it would did it?
bruh moment
No one remembers Rio. Cap was way more memorable.
oh it's finally happening

It's authentic 1940s showtunes music.
Like if this musical number is your favorite part of the movie.
I love this part of the movie it's the best part .
How did this NOT get nominated for an Oscar?
I thought it was nominated, but lost to Rio.
T he winter soldier got an oscar
Because it talks positively about America in the 1940s, that's why.
Correction: Because it talks positively about America at all. The Oscars have become nothing more than a bunch of self-congratulation, by Leftists who run much of Hollywood. And if there's two categories Leftists can't stand, its anything patriotic and Godly.
Moviefan2k4 dude
Stop blaming "leftists" for everything. It's like some kind of boogeyman.
I can't believe that the Steve Rogers in Infinity War is the same Steve Rogers that dressed up and performed onstage before actually being a soldier
I know it is so strange
Well, IW shows him at his most different...his "darkest" perhaps, but that Steve is very much the same one who went against orders to singlehandedly rescue an entire batallion from an enemy camp.
lol, character development
lol, character development and appearance upgrade

Tugged at the heartstrings when I heard this in Agent Carter.

This music is soooo red, white and blue. :D
how is it french?
How is it British xD soz
@@LouisK364 Not french. Dutch.
How is it Australian? lmao
Actually, all the music in the movie is written by Alan Silvestri except for this song. This one is written by Alan Menken.
I've always thought it was hilarious that the first movie Marvel made after being bought by Disney has an Alan Menken song in it. Probably just a coincidence, but still funny.
I hope Menken writes a Captain American musical.
Because of course it is, Alan Menken can write anything
bartsimpson83 Second Ironman 2 started it first with make way for tomorrow today by the Sherman Brothers.

When you're bored and you don't know what music to play so you just pick something random and find this masterpiece.
This song should've played when cap lifted mjolnir.
"Its times like these when we need to be reminded of who we really are." (President Roosevelt)
Thank you Captain America for reminding us what we are.
Oh man... However flashy, flamboyant, corny/cheesy this song and the whole Star-Spangled Man performance is still very accurate for the times. I mean... this is just crazy as how it is how it is, but it still was a great addition to the film to make it realistic for 1942-1943!!!

Well your wish was granted
can't get anymore patriotic than this.
I know it'll never happen, but if they play this at some point in Endgame, maybe even in the credits, I'll be one happy man.
It would’ve given me goosebumps if Tony started playing it as a form of motivation for Steve during his fight with Thanos. It would’ve been goofy as hell, but I would’ve loved it
Dude it would be hilarious if Tony pulled up to the compound blaring this from his car’s speakers when he came to deliver Cap’s shield.
My parakeet was watching this with me. Now its an eagle. *Salute* America
As a German, I feel proud for USA ! Big respect !
So much america! Haha this is the best song from captain america, why was this not in winter soldier
God bless America!
Both are awesome!
+Candy bear
Captain God bless America?

To the people who seen Avengers Endgame, this would it be emotional if we heard this in Endgame at the end while Steve and Peggy are living there life

I would so love to watch this live!
He's lived a little bit of that live Tony told him to get
From Wikipedia:
The song was written for the film by Alan Menken and lyricist David Zippel, and recorded by the Metro Voices.[148]
That song fills me with star spangled patriotic spirit, and I'm not even American 😂❤ loved this movie
Only time we will have a musical number in the MCU and it was the best!
Just gotta say, My 2-year-old loves this song, and sings it from start to finish. :D
This should be the next national anthem
Everytime I listen to this video, I start the day inspired and ready to take on anything that comes my way.
The music is actually from Alan Menken, Disney darling. David Zippel is the lyricist.
I heard they patterned it after the style of music composed by the Sherman brothers though, from classic Disney films like "Mary Poppins".
This is actually composed by Alan Menken (and lyrics by David Zippel), and scored by Alan Silvestri.
This song is really good... really good...
I don't live in America but I hope one day I will. Sure they've made some mistakes in the past but its a beautiful country. I am totally obsessed with Captain America. I love him like mad . Steve Rogers will always be my hero!
This song and Captain are both amazing
this song along with this cap picture is sad to me for some reason
Probably because he fought long and hard during World War 2 and the song is too lighthearted for the true struggles of the war.
Hi, let me point out that this particular song wasn't composed by Silvestri, but by David Zippel and Alan Menken. In case you wan't to fix it on the description ;)

Happy 4th of July!
One of the few great things about this movie.
If I ever get drafted into a war, I’m playing this as I go into the battle field.
Who is hearing this on the 4th of July? I AM!!
2:06 Imagine the avengers endgame finale when captain america is fighting thanos at the end to sacrifice himself for his friends.
Urgh.. it's sooo catchy...
You act as though that's a bad thing.
R.I.P avengers 2019😩😭
Happy 4th of July everybody!
Captain America, so awesome he gets his own theme song.

I cried at this scene. I still do. Cap is the greatest.
I love this song and Capetian America too. This song goes for all American Heroes.
Who’ll rise and fall, gives his all for America!
Donald Trump could learn from these guys how to write a proper catchy American propaganda song...
😂Trump can learn many things
+zeekslider The only thing Trump could learn from Cap is how to be a compassionate, wise and selfless leader
+Marty not really they'd be seen as public menace like in civil war
i think hillary clinton will be the main reason why captain america should be exist

Star Spangled as in the name of America's national Anthem. So with Cap in red white and blue, he's referred to as "The Star Spangled Man"
Star spangled man
The captain always has a plan
Or maybe?
;D This is why i am proud of America, We are pretty awesome in some aspects, Especially music and knocking ol' Adolf out, ;D Good job cap!
