Making Realistic Candles in Blender

I've seen a few tutorials on making candle flame shaders, but I've never been super satisfied with them. They always use some cheat that I'm not super happy with. So in this video I want to show you the shader that I came up with.

Great job. Other tutorials do nice work on modeling the candle, but neglect an animated flame. This handles that job just fine. I would imagine that the randomness of the flame flicker could be solved using time combined with a random seed, but I have not figured that out yet.

I ended this tutorial and made my candle then I realized it has so few views. IT DESERVES SO MANY MORE VIEWS! It's awesome, I couldn't find a good candle model animated and this tutorial saved me! Great tutorial!

Aww this comment made my week, thank you! Yeah, before I made it I was surprised that there weren't any good candle tuts. I use candles all the time in scenes!
The algorithm probably doesn't like me cause I suck at uploading consistently 🤷

I don't doubt your skills as a graphic designer and your mastery of Blender, but frankly I'm tired of this kind of tutorials.
One constantly have to go back and forth to understand the nodes settings and the video is sometimes so blurry that it is difficult to figure out the numbers.
A simple online page with descent quality images would be much more useful and practical.
