John Anderson i think as Honda as an idea , had a good one on the rebel. But no matter how much i try when i see one close up it gives me the impression of an unfinished bike. Its like they start assembling it then all of a sudden they got fed up and rolled it out of the production line. They still have that horrible gap between the frame and the fuel tank. The radiator should a least installed longitudinaley instead, the old headlight look terrible cheap at least that is sorted and the that stupid round dash with a rectengular display..for god sake honda decide if it round or square but dont combine they together! ...anyway i’m sure it rides ok as a typical honda but damn they should really hire european designers for there motorcycles.

I had a 1985 Honda rebel that only had 500 miles on it when I bought it in late 90's. I regret having to sell it but I couldn't work and needed to pay bills. I miss my baby.

Finally Honda put on this bike what other bike manufacturers had for years. The previous model should have had a gear indicator as standard. The instrument panel was very crappy too.
My first ever bike was a CA125 Rebel back in the late 90's. As a twin cylinder 125 is had a lot.more performance and better style than the likes of the CG125 of the time.

I had scheduled to take it the 30th of this month but due to the circumstances it got postponed. They let us choose a date. I took to long to see the email and reply. So I got the last one which was June 20+21. Do it man! I think it’s worth it because you get the waiver on the spot(2nd day of the class) then go redeem it at the dmv. I was kinda mad that’s it so far away but I called my local bike dealership, Yamaha/Honda in Astoria and they’re not even opening till mid June they said. Damn I need to get a jacket like you! I got my Bell Broozer helmet coming in the mail soon and some grips. That’s about it

I was warned that DOT crash test rating is easy to get and not the best for reliability in the event you take a fall. FortNine reviews goes into detail on that in some videos. Just be safe mate! I also check with some dealerships and they aren't ready yet. I might wait till off season in November or September to buy in cash a 2020 Rebel 500. Insurance is cheaper when you own the bike, plus there might be sales then with holidays coming up!

I wonder how many people compare the seating position to the CB500F? Most cruiser riders go for the looks; later they complain about the knee bend and that they get blown off the bike at 130+ km/h. :)

Try and find a new 2019 Rebel. Dealers will be marking the 2019's down to sell with the 2020 bikes coming in. New bike equals WARRANTY COVERAGE. Dimes to dollars says that the used 2017 Rebel was someone else's new bike and so at 12K miles on it could mean 12K of harsh beginner riding, now they want to upgrade to a larger bike. If you can afford it, go for the bike that you can get warranty coverage on and you know is in excellent condition.
I love the new headlight internals, but I think the encasing itself on the standard headlights look cheap and plastic-y. Compared to the hard-edged staleness-steel trim / rim around the old headlights, this is a downgrade. Love the bulbs and the internal housing, not the outer housing... Looks cheap.
I think people should stop calling this a beginner’s bike just because it is comfortable to drive and not too costly. Does it mean expert riders prefer expensively priced uncomfortable bikes?

and my friends still talk about the enfeilg 650 but they suck just look at the ergonomics of this bike its best for ones looking for buying a bigger cc bike for the first time and looks badass yea gt 650 looks classy and has more cc but i think its not gonna out run honda and yea honda is way ahead in build quality and refinement no use if have over 600 cc and cant ride it to fulest deep inside everyone know that the cost gonna be the real prob.

I'm glad I didn't get the second generation first run of the Rebel. The new Rebel improvements are worth the wait.

@@PrimoStracciatella Yes, the rider seat on the CB500f is perfect, its just the pillion that is too high, also the pillion footpads are way too high.
