Matera is 100% bucket list material. It is such a unique atmosphere that is hard to explain. Also the local people in Matera are so friendly. Probably because they get to live in such a beautiful town!
Ok had to look it up, oldest city in the world is Damascus Syria, continuously inhabited for over 11000 years. Think about it, if you owned a bed and breakfast there since the city was founded you would of made a lot of MONEY in rent by now.

We found Matera by accident. When we go on a road trip we use airbnb as a way to see where the interesting places are. So basically we search for an airbnb in the entire region of Basilica and when we have found a nice airbnb we make sure that the town/area also is interesting. And this was very much the case with Matera 😊

Regarding the Countryman, how do you like it? What is good and what is bad? We are seriously considering buying it when we get to Lisbon. We love it so much and it seems like a really good car. And that fact that BMW is the manufacturer is a great quality stamp.

About the countryman. Well, I think you drive the new model? Ours is 4 years old. So the previous model.
Well last year we went to Italy with it. I drove the whole trip. Normally I drive with the BMW X4. And to be honest I never had the feeling that I ‘dowgraded’. I never missed my car. The car just does what you want to do. It rides on a highway like on rails. Reliable on every aspect! Just perfect. A real pleasure.
Only one downside is the seat for long distances. It has no low back support. But I bought sort of a lower back cushion for the long trip. And that solved it just fine. Maybe the sportpackage solved the problem in the first place. But we didn’t take it.
I drove also with the current new model and I think it was even better. More quiet and interior even more sturdy.
So HIGHLY recommanded!
That's not Dante, that's Luco (Loo-cho). Was in Matera three years back, and during one of our evening walks a man came out to feed his cat, calling out for Luco. Luco, a yellow tabby came running from the distance for his dinner. The old man was so glad.

We have a Mavic Pro drone which we have been extremely happy with. It's practical and performs great. If I were you I would probably get a Mavic Air, which is the new little brother, but you could also wait a month or two, as new Mavic Pro 2 are being launched by DJI. :)

Matera è unica, i paesaggi che vedi in Sardegna, li trovi anche in Corsica o altre parti più o meno simili. A scegliere, andrei piuttosto in Salento che in Sardegna...
