- Trivium - Brave this Storm Live at O2 academy Birmingham 6/2/2014.
Well done to Matt for seeing the fans needing help and stopping the show so they could get help.
Matt Heafy is the most mature and professional musicians in modern metal. Can't help but respect the shit out of the guy.
*I wholeheartedly agree, 1,000%!*
I remember how Matt once said, right before playing Throes of Perdition, "If someone falls down, you pick them right back up. No one's getting hurt today". He really keeps his word.
I have been on Trivium concert 2 weeks ago. And he said the same as well 😊😊😊 Really nice guy 😊
Regardless on what you think about Trivium's music, Matt Heafy has always been one of the nicest guys in the metal genre.
Morgan Chan not just him but Benjamin burnley as well definitely two bands and vocalists I will always respect
And M Shadows.
Morgan Chan tbh a good percentage of the metal community is filled with nice people
Matt Tuck also springs to mind. Like it has been said, there are a lot of nice guys in big metal bands, more often then not.
Morgan Chan I'm not even Trivium fans but I totally agreed.
And people say band member never care about their fans. I love Matt heafy he's amazing
Who says this exactly ?
I love Matt Heafy, Metal is not about negativity and he proves it.
My mom was at one of their concerts, and they sprayed water into the crowd or something, and Matt offered her a towel lol
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
you sure have cool mom
Your mom is so cool
Your mom went to Trivium without you. Thats sad
I bet it wasn't the last time he offered her a towel that night.. 😯😅😅
I just saw them live about 2 weeks ago. Front row against the rail...Matt noticed my girlfriend take some shots to the head by crowd surfers. After the finale he came up and handed her his guitar pick. Got to thank him after the show during the meet and greet...he said he saw her take a couple of shots and felt bad. Being on the receiving end of this type of experience made me appreciate and respect these guys even more than I already did.
Ive been working on festivals a couple of years and I must say that metal stars generally are so much nicer and down to earth while pop stars can be rude and condescending (even if there are exceptions of course)
Just look at the Travis Scott concert. He couldn't be bothered to help hundreds of his fans. While a metal show stops the entire thing to help two guys.
That's why they don't mosh at pop concerts, if you need to stop you'd have to sinc with playback..
Trivium is a metal band not pop music
@@wolfmama7879 "matt heavy stops mid song..." Duh
@@ktulhu2011what is your point?
@@mrtiesthatbind just stating that if you sing in playback you can't alter your schedule. Metal bands don't do that, so they can stop
A band that truly care about their fans, I respect that.
I thought i couldn't respect Matt more than I did before this video. But holy shit I love Matt so fucking much!!!
+Neighbour Thrashman Same here! :)
THIS is how you handle when shit goes wrong in a concert. And also massive credit to Paolo for spotting it.
People don't appreciate when tragedies are avoided, he did the right thing, noticed something was not so well and took care of it, he's a good man, I'm proud of being a fan of Trivium
He did the needful. Everyone is there for fun; not to die or get injured. I've been to shows and nearly passed out from overheating.
Such a great guy! So much respect for this dude! You can already see him noticing at 3:00 and keeping his eye on it.
Great human...
I was at this gig, much like many other people, but yeah it was awesome how they just stopped it. Happened during Brave This Storm and Shogun. The best part was that they just carried on as if you had paused a recording of it. So seamless. Awesome band!
Not the biggest Trivium fan but I've always found Matt to be a stand up guy. such a legend
never heard of matt heafy.. but that speaks volumes about him. mad props for giving a shit bro.
Much Respect. And Kudos to the fans as well for not booing or getting Arsey.
Every metal band, should see this video
Roberto Vazquez and every metal hater.
pretty much every metal band is doing this
Very rare to stop and be so considerate of stuff like this. It's why i've always liked trivium.
Respect!!
Gus Drax I
Nothing but respect to the whole band!!
I’m here because of the Travis Scott Incident
trivium have always been stand up dudes and i appreciate that. trivium has been one of my favorite newer bands in metal i've followed since embers and while i didn't enjoy vengeance falls all that much, since each release is different, i'm hoping they try out a new sound and get away from the draimon sound
i don't know what you just said
oooh ok, i thought you were saying I was a youtuber with wretchedness inside me, haha. i'll check it out
I started listening to these guys after I saw them this past May, Matt had broken up a fight and I felt instant respect for that. Plus they're pretty damn good musicians
yeah i saw a video of that. it's interesting how serious they take their music not only in their musicianship, but in how they prepare for shows. matt especially has a lot of rituals but they all seem to be a smart band. not there's anything wrong with partying or drinking before or after shows, bands can do what they want. but i just think it's awesome the stuff matt and the others do to prepare for each show
I met Matt after a gig once when he was 19. Top fella really down to earth. I have been a fan since ember to inferno. It took me a long time to appreciate their music after ascendancy.
I'm here post Astroworld. THIS is how you handle things and prevent anyone from getting hurt, much respect for Trivium. Why is it that the Metal bands are the ones who seem so down to earth and genuinely good people while the pop bands don't give a shit about their fans
Yeah, just comparing this to the Travis Scott thing that happened just shows how much of a difference the two have when it comes to people in the crowd
Holy DAWG !!!! the way they continued the song IS AMAZING !!!!!
Yeah man, I thought the same.
Matt is a good egg
ENDSEEKER hes a good noodle
EGGGGGGGGG WHIIIIIIITES!
@@TheDeathJesters1337 dead. 😂😂😂💀
Read a thing years ago in Kerrang where a kid got hurt at a trivium concert and apparantley they came to see him in the ambulance after the gig lol
seriously this has just given me another reason to love these guys :)
Okay, that puts trivium in my cool book.
Matt is one of the classiest guys in Hard Rock today
Love how this video has no dislikes.Trivium are such good guys in general, this just proves that they care about their fans too
It has three now
I bet one was Travis, the old drummer.
Laggy and one was nick
JoRdOguitarman1 :')
36 people now who listen to justin beiber
Met Matt once at a festival ..... he was just walking through the crowd blending in lol with a couple of security guards 5 or 6 meters behind ...... Great guy .... shook my hand even!!
Not only is the pretty fucking awesome that he'd stop a song for the crowd and the venues hired staff, but when the music stopped; all those voices singing together on point.
That is a stand up move on his part, it's fucking cool to see artists care about their fans like that.
Good thing this wasn't a Pantera show..that's all I'm saying...
Oh no you didn't
Lefty Guns That's was heavy, man ...
Lefty Guns Obvious troll is obvious.
I wasn't trolling.
Lefty Guns
haha!! I agree, those passed out people would stay passed out lol. But good on him making sure they are alright =)
So it is possible to wear a pentagram on your back and still have compassion for others. Who knew.
You don't know much about heavy metal do you my friend.
Cackapillar per my comment
Matty Matt Matt I like your channel name
Hail Satan....
David Krolak thnx
Trivium is a very special band
I agree :)
I've seen them live once, and they brought it hard. It's cool to know that they're cool enough to stop for a second to make sure that their fans don't get seriously injured.
That just shows how dedicated and caring Trivium is to their fans, and how understanding the metal community is as a whole when it comes to someone getting hurt at a show.
Much Respect to Matt and Co.
he did the same thing at Newcastle a few years ago, there was a guy out of his mind fighting and clearly on drugs and he was hurt and hurting other people, we jumped up and asked for him to stop the song and he did straight away and we were able to get security and ambos in to get em out, great bunch of guys
Swear the rock/metal community are one big family at times. I’ll always remember going to see A7X at a festival & right before the show, the dude next to me just fainted & fell & me & 8 other guys made sure to clear some room, get the guy some water & get him the help he needed. When someone falls, pick them back up. #1 rule in the pit.
The audio is terrible...
Damn these dudes are pro as fuck! They jumped straight back into it like hitting the play button!
Huge respect. And a good eye to catch what was going on. It's a scary reality at some shows I've been to. Glad he saw it happening and personnel got it taken care of. Just makes me like Trivium more than I already did.
Now that is how you treat your fans.
Short Round “Strong bridge. Look. Strong bridg *falls through bridge*”
Most inspirational frontman of this generation \m/ that's what metal is all about not how badass someone is it's most importantly about how a band will go to massive extents to help out someone who is injured for example
In the metal music community, we're all a family. Matt Heafy just proved it right here.
I remember being at this gig so clearly. Met Corey, Nick and Paolo afterwards too.
Do u know what song are they playing?
@@monocyte2210 Brave This storm
@@ChristysChannelYall thanks man
Man, if I was in this concert, I'll be screaming out, "Matt, you and the band are awesome for a reason." :)
One time when I was a teenager I saw Matt outside a venue and started yelling like a fan boy, "Matt, Matt! Remember me!". After they finished their last song he puts a pick in my hand and says, "I remembered you." :,)
these guys are true professionals those fans should always be the #1 priority during a show
i love the Final Fantasy intro. and Matt is a beast of a man. good shit
Saw them in Wilmington NC back in October. He is so personable onstage. U feel like your sitting down to dinner with the band(JK but u know what I mean). Always paying attention to the well being of the crowd. Has great appreciation for the fans and staff. Im seeing more and more these days people in pits stopping and helping people up who fall down. We cannot have anybody getting trampled. Rock on all my metal brothers and sisters!!
One of the many reasons why Trivium and Matt are outstanding.
This just goes to show that matt and the rest of trivium are really good people and that they respect alot of people
They are awesome. Met them twice, so sweet down to earth dudes.I respect them so much.
All bands should do this if someone gets hurt at a concert. Could you imagine getting knocked out in a mosh pit, people trampling over you and yet the bands still playing? Most people wouldn't even know what happened until they tripped over you. Good for Matt for looking out for the fans.
I was at this gig! It happened twice (he stopped to help a fan) What a guy!
A class act! People can get killed in a crowd. KUDOS for Matt being such a stand up guy!! I've loved the band from the first song I ever heard them play.
That was just class right there. Matt Heafy is damn respectable after that compassionate act. metal is fun and the music may be dark and (if you're in the pit) downright dangerous, but he saw someone needed help and he made sure they got it. we are all brothers in the pit and if someone falls we need to take care of them.
Been to a concert in Portland, OR and I was really thirsty for water so what friend and I did was awesome, I asked Corey to pass us down a bottle of water. We were both dying of thirst and we were so thankful. Also drink up plenty of water before going to a concert cause there isn't much room for breaks.
What a cool guy. I've been to metal shows where people were seriously injured and the band kept playing on.
what bands?
Im guessing Slayer. I would like to recall reading that Slayer keeps the unofficial world record for most deaths in their moshpits. Not something to be proud of.
Randy Tyson maybe the band didn't see what was going on when it happend
Matt did just the decent thing a human being should do when performing on stage! Anyone in that position simply playing on. and ignoring people being hurt in the moshpit, while being aware of it devil shall fetch them! However, a lot of bands play on as they are simply not aware someone has been hurt and that still happens a lot...
Great editing and filming! I've been a fan of Trivium for years. This vid just solidified my love for the guys even more
this was very kind of trivium! I love their relation to the fans!
That moment when you see his eyes look in one direction for awhile before he says stop. Wow.
Mad respect for this man even before this!
what a gem! I love it when people get to see band members do actually care for the fans that come to see them!
I love the reaction of the people around the guy recording When the band first starts you can hear all of them saying wow and that's awesome
Love Trivium, they are all really good dudes
Respect to Matt and Trivium, what a band !!!!
now that's how a band should be during there shows they should care about there fans
this guy never ceases to amaze me!
He did this at the concert when I went to see them...oddly enough it was the same song. I was standing next to the chick when she fainted. Matt is an awesome dude for that.
These are proper men.
seen them live in newcastle when they done this tour and in honesty the best band i will ever see live and one of the few bands that also respect and look out for their fans #respect
Damn they handled it so perfectly! I also love how they went right back into the song. Brave This Storm is one of my favorite Trivium songs and this makes it so much more epic!
This guy is my idol!
Dude Matt Heafy is the best. Such a caring badass inside and out.
I will know the future is now when cell phones can record bass in concerts without distortion. This is awesome though of a band caring about their fans.
ahahah Paolo's like "how du play that bit again?"
Love them!
Amazing memories from that show every time this video shows up for me. Barely a minute in to this I’d fallen too, ass barely grazed the ground before someone hauled me back up. Great atmosphere, great Trivium community \m/
this is why i love matt heafy
thats love for ur fans trivium youll always be legends!!
Trivium is a Class Act and that was a real classy thing to do Matt! It can get tough out there in the pit I know firsthand! Nice to see him make sure the fans are safe and taken care of!
Love this guy. Much respect for him
Gentlemen and scholars All of em. LONG LIVE TRIVIUM.
What a hero. Rockstars with true hearts for the fans.
Trivium is fucking amazing and I love how much they care about their fans. ♡

I suddenly love Trivium
He cares a lot about his fans and it shows even now he streams every tour on twitch for his fans for free
Matt is the fucking goat
Two Words: Fucking Awesome.
Such a great guy. I want to be like him when I grow up.
Matt is a saint. Love him so much.
