Honestly Alex is just awesome, he's so humble and so eager to learn like if you watch the documentary of the making of TSATS Alex doesn't question anything, he's always like "yeah sure man, I can try that" then someone will be like "wow man, that was epic" and he'll be like "thank you man, that means a lot", he's gonna be with Trivium for a long, long time, they all absolutely love having him in the band
Never really liked much of Trivium from what I had heard before. But this album man, my fav of the year. Definitely be going through their discography.
Funny, when Paolo mentioned "it was an old song," new immediately he meant Rain - Baddest Trivium song, until tS&tS. Never thought I'd love Trivium much after Travis' departure. Thank you, Alex, for bringing Trivium percussions back to life!
Man it's so weird that such a huge band was held back by their old drummer and finally found the perfect one after being together for like more than 15 years....
I am the last person to give credit to the rhythm section. I'm a lead guitarist who wishes he could be a lead singer. I've always loved Paolo's work, but Alex made this band whole, and God-like...even on their old tracks, which I've heard Live since he came on board. All the difference in the world.
Gotta, say, the guy giving the interview (sorry, don't know his name) did a great job!. He actually listened to their answers and commented on each answer before moving on to the next question, along with asking quality question. Well done sir!
I reacted to SitS the way most people did. I've since gone back to it with understanding and found some gems. It's obviously not the "essential" Trivium, but what is? I mean, seriously, it's not so bad as "The Crusade" or anything.....
The Crusade isn't bad. I think it's actually a little better than Silence... It is more aggressive and has great riffs. I don't understand why people hate on that album so much.
The Crusade does have some mediocre songs on it for sure. But more than half of the record is top tier Trivium in my opinion. Ignition, Detonation, Entrance, Unrepentant and To the Rats are some of the best songs they've made honestly. I wouldn't say it's their best album by any means, but it's definitely not their worst.
rusty ambrose Paolo seemed to help extensively alongside Matt with this record. He came up with song titles and lyrics for TSATS. It seemed like more of a collaborative effort rather than just one doing the majority of the work.
Chase Broughton which is the way it should be. Although it can work if it’s one guy doing most of the work sometimes (Opeth and Breaking Benjamin for example). Based on their interviews in the past,it’s a damn good thing that they’re working together on the albums and not leaning on one guy to write everything.

The guys in Trivium are all great. Down to earth and cool people. Had the pleasure of meeting them for the 2nd time in march
Never really liked much of Trivium from what I had heard before. But this album man, my fav of the year. Definitely be going through their discography.
Luke Crompton Make sure to give Shogun a listen. That one is definitely their most technical when it comes to the instrumentals.
i second that !
Trivium is so great man so many killer songs
"They said to run but I'm obsessed with the madness"

Give that man a talkshow. Fantastic interviewer
Great interviewer. Interesting and relevant questions is nice and refreshing!

What a great fucking interviewer, am I right?

'It's one of our heaviest songs, we needed to make sure he could handle this stuff'
Dude drums for fucking Brain Drill. Of course he could handle it.
Get Bent ! My favorite part is the blasts
I'd like to point out that the interviewer is one of the best of all time. An obvious fan and a lover of music and metal.
From years of seeing them in tour, the meet and greets, I never noticed how square Matt’s chin is
Awesome interviewer, clearly knows and loves the subject material, and asks thought-provoking questions
I love our Trivium guys, such fucking sweethearts
Such an awesome band, they're clearly on the top of their game. Phenomenal record!

Doesn’t Matt write all the lyrics? Why is Paulo answering all the questions about them?
Metalhead1406 how do you know? Matt has said multiple times that he writes all the lyrics
Paolo and Matt are the main writers... but Paolo is the writer for almost all of their most succesful/mainstream songs
rusty ambrose Paolo seemed to help extensively alongside Matt with this record. He came up with song titles and lyrics for TSATS. It seemed like more of a collaborative effort rather than just one doing the majority of the work.
