Zakk n Dimebag were pretty close. This is a tribute song. Dime was killed when a disgruntled fan, mad at the breakup of Pantera (as close as anybody can tell) walked up on stage with a handgun and assassinated him. We lost Dime's brother (Pantera's drummer) not long ago to health issues. Icons of music...and we fans are worse off for it. We've lost way too many legends in the last 10-15 years. Kudos to Zakk for doin this one.
@White Devil yes, and I'm being remiss by not mentioning them as well...my apologies to all who suffered terrible loss in this incident. I was headed to Coloh the night that happened (was part of my job that I'm now retired from) when news of it was announced on FM radio (Z-Rock if memory serves?). To this day I'm still pissed off about it.
@@lenn7272 that'd definitely be something I'd be interested in...It wouldn't be unfamiliar territory for any of em. All have a history of jamming together. It's been a while since I've que'd em up, but Rex was playing in a band named Kill Devil Hills (sp?). I don't know if they're still playing, or if it was a one-time thing? Somebody with the info will enlighten us. Anyway, what I've got from em is real tasty, and worth a listen. (On another note, also worth mentioning, Jake E Lee has been making music with a band named Red Dragon Cartel. Not exactly "new," but they've got a fair amount of material, and the stuff is pretty badass...If you dig Badlands when Jake was with em, you'll like their stuff) Thanks for the info. I'll definitely be watching for em...hope it happens.
"in this river all shall fade to black" meaning the process of death, also "in this river ain't no coming back" meaning he's dead, not coming back to life because he is in the river of death
Its been 4 years, its a celebration song, as much as its a memorial song. I look at it as remembrance, respect for a lost friend. and we go on. Dead meadows from Black Label society is truly depressing, its a lovely song but it hits hard.
iv not watched this video in ages and it made me tear up o7 Dimebag, id love to visit your grave once but i have a friend that does it once every few years, rest easy
Lol "this is deeper than what I thought I was getting myself into". That's pretty cute, you are so thoughtful with all your thoughts in the end, very much appreciated.
Dime and Zakk were metal brothers. This Song was already written just before dimes death. He was buried with BLS colors vest. Bleed Black Label for life. ZAKK plays this song every concert and I have seen quite a few.
After I got back from Iraq I got to take my 2 military buddies to there first rock show which was black label society and when this song came on 2 huge posters of dimbag came down and I don't think there was a dry eye in the room
NOT MANY REACTORS HAVE CRACKED THIS NUT SHELL. This is one of MANY amazing songs by the once Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Zakk Wylde and Black Label Society. Funeral Bell, Bleed For Me, Doomsday Jesus, Fire It Up and Suicide Messiah are to name a few. BIG FAN.
My stepdad/dad loved Zakk Wyld. He died suddenly in 2018. I made a slideshow tribute video to him with this song. This song has always made me tear up but now it hurts even more. Another great one from Zakk Wylde is Lost Prayer.
I remember when I first heard Dimebag was shot & killed. It came across the radio and I had to stop and pullover. It hit me more than any other musician or celebrity death. I love this song.
Same here I had to take about an hour off work right after I got there. I just sat and had a freak out session until I could compose myself enough to be able to function again.
A tribute to a brother. Don't let it get you to far down. Tragedy happens every day. We have to soldier on, and be the best person we can be. You are a beautiful woman heart and soul, take refuge for that.
I subscribed... anyone who steps out to see whats happening, out of their norm? That's my Pplnem... I Love Dime and Zak! Much respect young Lady, Love You!
I love Zakk Wylde plays hard rock, but he sings songs that pulls you with all the emotions that he feels. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting him and he is very nice. Some of his videos are hilarious, but this one breaks your heart.
Dimebag was murdered on stage December 8, 2004. Same day John Lennon was murdered. Also, Vince Neil killed Razzle from Hanoi Rocks, in a dui accident. Darrell Abbott is from Texas, Zack is from New Jersey. They meet each other in early 90s. I myself meet Dimebag a few times, first time around 90 at the channel. December 8th is a bad day for musicians. Other things had happened that day.
When Randy Roads died, Ozzy's guitarist, Zack became Ozzy's guitarist and took Ozzy to a new level and brilliant songs. Check out Ozzmosis, I'd love to hear your reactions to that album.
Zack gave Ozzie a mid-solo-career comeback in the early 90s but way after the death of Randy Rhodes. Jake E. Lee was Ozzy's permanent axeman after Randy died and Brad Gillis is the shredder who got the call to fill in to finish the tour after Rhodes died, a very difficult position to be in and probably not a gig anyone even with massive skill would have considered given the circumstances without being begged to do it. Those two guys deserve their credit because without them Ozzy simply would not have continued making music after his friend's death. Zack is great, but let's not give him credit for roses that belong to other men. Even if they didn't have Zack's tenure with Ozzy, don't erase them from the timeline. They came before.
Damn i guess i had forgottrn how long it has brrn since dimebag was killed. Shit already 16 yrs ago. Wow watching u react to this inr has tears down my eyes. I have not heard this song by zakk. Wow yah powerful song.
it's dedicated to a friend of him, Dimebag Darrel, killed on stage, one of he best guitar players ever, the live versión is very touchy. I'm sure you reacted to Pantera, that was Dimebag's band. He was so good a guitar player, his father had a recording studio, and every year they had a contest for the best guitar player, and Dime was banned when he was like 16, maybe 17, because he always won that contest :D

You're very much welcome. Thank you for taking the time to reply, I've seen your q&a vid so I know how incredibly busy you are. Your content is very entertaining and very well done, thank you for taking time out of your life to produce something that brings me happiness. I am happy, just saying what you do lol

And gunned down on stage in front of his brother. RIP DIME & VINNIE

There has been talk of a reunion for the members still alive, and Zakk Wylde made clear he would love to join in.

@@drew65sep rex also has his own solo album.
A million of us metalheads had our hearts smashed to bits when Dimebag was murdered. And Dime wasn't the only one murdered that day. It's horrific.
That day sucked. I was listening to a local rock station and that’s how I found out. Driving between jobs…I had to pull over. That shit shook me.
The river represents life.
Yes say that at that end once I got it 😭😭🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰thank you for more info
Wrong, it represents death
"in this river all shall fade to black" meaning the process of death, also "in this river ain't no coming back" meaning he's dead, not coming back to life because he is in the river of death
You can also see the death reapers carrying his dead body into the river of death. Also the grim reaper is literally standing in the river lol
Bingo.
This is a very emotional song. I shed a tear every time I hear it.
Great reaction.
Its been 4 years, its a celebration song, as much as its a memorial song. I look at it as remembrance, respect for a lost friend. and we go on.

RIP DIME BAG! love this tribute. Darrell guitar player for Pantera. Zakk was ozzys and STARTED BLS. Darrell was shot on stage by a crazy fan
To me this guitar is so haunting yet so melodic. I love the emotion.
RIP DIME ;.; (And RIP Vinnie, too ;.;)
Lol "this is deeper than what I thought I was getting myself into". That's pretty cute, you are so thoughtful with all your thoughts in the end, very much appreciated.

It’s a healing tune
I went to Dallas/Fort Worth. Stood by Dimebags grave. He was a main stream person in my childhood. Zakk is inspiring. Thank you for this.
The song was written before Dimebag Darrell died but the theme has stuck with him and he dedicates/dedicated the song to Dimebag when he played live
The song is the eulogy Zakk wanted to give for his friend.
One hell of a tribute... RIP Mum.... Must have liked the song, haven't haunted me yet...
After I got back from Iraq I got to take my 2 military buddies to there first rock show which was black label society and when this song came on 2 huge posters of dimbag came down and I don't think there was a dry eye in the room
R.I.P Dime, Vinnie and Eddie!
Hope they're all jamming in the land above...

I've seen him 3 times (not enough) . I'm stuck on 2 live songs from 13 years ago, born to lose and 13 years of grief! Baf
it was this song that unintentionally got me into music 15 years ago at the age of 6, miss those times
Love your hair! ❤
Not even gonna lie I'm 37 and consider myself quite manly but the pain conveyed in the solo makes me cry like a baby to this day
Dimebag Darrell forever loved and missed. You can feel Zakk's pain and all fans of Pantera and Dime and metal in general, we all felt that pain.
RIP Dime. We miss you every day brother.
My stepdad/dad loved Zakk Wyld. He died suddenly in 2018. I made a slideshow tribute video to him with this song. This song has always made me tear up but now it hurts even more. Another great one from Zakk Wylde is Lost Prayer.
Sorry for your loss. Rock.In.Paradise🤘

Since i knew what it was about i balled my damn eyes out😢😢
I remember when I first heard Dimebag was shot & killed. It came across the radio and I had to stop and pullover. It hit me more than any other musician or celebrity death. I love this song.
Same here I had to take about an hour off work right after I got there. I just sat and had a freak out session until I could compose myself enough to be able to function again.
This song is a tribute to DimeBag Darell but he also pays tribute to Jimmy Page with the double guitar Jimmy Page hasn't died yet
RIP Dimebag
A tribute to a brother. Don't let it get you to far down. Tragedy happens every day. We have to soldier on, and be the best person we can be. You are a beautiful woman heart and soul, take refuge for that.

Hey you should do pyscho by Eddie noack(1968) it's probably the most messed up country sound out there.
A little after Dime died a package showed up to Zacs house it was a guitar called the buzzsaw Dime had designed for him.
Dime was murdered on stage. And it was too sudden. If you didn't know him get to know him please. Amazing talent
