Scorpion breaking character to give us the iconic "GET OVER HERE!" is absolutely appreciated.
Oh. It's not out of character.
He *does* know English, because English was made into a second language in Japan during the Edo period (where Scorpion is said to originate from in the movie) for diplomatic (and spying) purposes, but the writers are being realistic with the fact that Hanzo *would* be more comfortable speaking his native language. Bi-Han has been around English speakers for centuries and has adapted to speaking it more than any other language he knows, even his native language (helps that his mother was white too).
Besides..."Get over here!" is much more to the point since Japan doesn't quite have the same phrase in their own langue. It's more of a "come here" then anything.

Let me tell you, when Scorpion entered the building, my mother, older sister, and nephew totally flipped out. 😂 Their reaction was priceless, and it's a memory I'll always treasure.
That's pretty cool. A friend of mine told me that at the viewing he saw, the minute the kunai went through Sub Zero's hand the whole audience gasped and then the "**get over here**" brought the house down

I love how Bi Han went out in this movie; he didn't beg for mercy, he didn't try to talk Scorpion down. He resigned himself to his fate, slammed that cage door closed, and went down swinging. Absolute legend.
This final fight was ABSURD the rivalry is between Scorpion and Sub Zero, and there shouldn't be any interference in the fight

For the first time ever....Hanzo is fighting *with* his family.
Yeah, they may not be his wife, son and (in this case) daughter...but they're his family. The one thing he has wanted and missed throughout the game series.
Sure he can't take on Bi-Han alone, we hardcore fans never doubt that. But why should he have to this time? After all, there always something new to be made from a new timeline in the MK universe that just deepens the character. Why not have a chance at a family once again? It doesn't have to interfere with his brotherhood with Kuai Liang, just means his family circle will be a little bigger this time around.

When you receive help it shows that you are weak, that you could never beat that opponent alone and you need help and that was the impression that the film gave!

It's a matter of honor, honor above all else Sub Zero should have been killed after being defeated in a one on one fight against Scorpion
Now hardcore Sub Zero fans will claim that Bi-Han is superior in everything and that Hanzo would never beat him, THE RIVALRY BETWEEN SCORPION AND SUB ZERO WAS RUINED IN THE MOVIE!
There must never be any meddling in a fight between rivals, this is between Scorpion and Sub Zero and between them only!
@@capitaojacksparrow2164 in my honest opinion that's something they could be considered a parallel in. Hanzo is a family man at heart and fights for his family. Bi-Han is a proud man who fights for himself and for his clan, but is ultimately motivated by his pride. He's fighting for himself essentially.
Scorpion can fight Sub-Zero on his own as punishment for killing his family. But the fact Scorpion fought *with* his family is what makes them different. Bi-Han is a cold and lone warrior and fights on his own terms. Scorpion is a warm-hearted man when it comes to his family and will fight for and with his family. Scorpion's family is his strength.
Individual strength can only get you so far. And I think giving Scorpion this family battle arc is a splendid way to make him feel redeemed for the loss of his wife and son. I just think this is a fresher take in Scorpion's portrayal than being another lone wolf. Because here, he has more to fight for than just his vengeance. He's fighting for the last family he has left and will protect them as if he was protecting Hiromi and Satoshi.
They killed it with scorpion and sub zero in this movie. Hittin nostalgia and new tones.

@@joelsilva699 No it’s his younger brother. The Sub Zero in this movie and from the first MK game is Bi Han. The younger brother is Kuai Liang who is the main Sub Zero everyone knows. Bi Han becomes another character.

As a LOOOONG time MK fan, I can say with absolute authority that this movie was the most garbage of all the MK movies ever released. The only good things were Scorpion fights. Also, get rid of that middle-aged uncle Cole. Sonya, Jax, Liu Kang, Hanzo's baby daughter (FEMALE SCORPION?!!) literally anyone else could have been a better main character.

Hiroyuki Sanada is the perfect guy to play Scorpion (my favorite all time dude in MK world) not only is Hiroyuki a great Japanese actor he's also a well known Martial Artist hence why he made all those movies in the first beginning of the movie and at the end look so easy.
Finally seeing Ice VS fire in this final battle was worth the wait, and Hiroyuki Sinada killed it as Scorpion, so does Joe Taslim as Bi-Han/Sub-Zero.
I'm so so ready for the sequel to this.
The rest was trash
Bi Han lived his life in service, never living for himself. He did not wish to kill Scorpion's family, you could see that he actually was impressed by the boy's courage, but he had his orders and his clan molded him from infancy to always obey. The saddest part is that the death of Hanzo's family was probably the moment he was closest to rebelling, but he made his choice, the wrong choice, and was damned for it. Loyalty to those unworthy of it will never bring you salvation or redemption.
I'm really glad he's coming back as noob saibot in the next movie.
Also knowing that he was going to die, Sub Zero closed the door behind him, showing the honor of a warrior.
That look Bi-Han gives at 1:42 is fucking menacing. Best character in this entire movie full of best characters.

Damn subzero took on 2 at the same time a spectre and a regular human, truly shows just how powerful bi han is the original subzero will always be my favorite.

@@isaacsmith6878 Subzero literally killed hanzo kid on there first encounter, without specter powers from quan chi or coles help hanzo would've got clapped again, also this wasn't fair at all it was 2 vs 1, subzero literally was dodging hanzo's rope dart and cole had to grab it and throw it back

@@guns6103 Scorpion was whooping him even without Coles help. Scorpion controls hellfire so he would’ve beaten Sub-zero on his own anyway. The only reason why Sub-zero won the first time is because Sub zero is not human and Scorpion was at the time. People forget that Sub zero belongs to a different race altogether and his linage comes from Outworld while Scorpion was born human. It’s obvious why Subzero had the advantage to begin with. Scorpion was always the better fighter and because of that Sub-zero used his freeze powers to end him, his wife and his son’s lives.

Hiroyuki Sanada is in his sixties and is *STILL* kicking ass to this day! Couldn't have picked a better actor for Scorpion.
And in a way I see this scene as Cole finally accepting his destiny; throughout the movie Raiden has been telling him he was chosen for a reason but he didn't really accept it. It wasn't until he fully accepted his power and his lineage that he was able to summon Scorpion and finish what the former started.
I feel you sub-zero those endurance rounds always got me too😢

There were a lot of good and some bad things about this movie, but this fight was beyond perfect

I love that Scorpion & Sub-Zero had Japanese and Chinese-inspired armors respectively to further distinguish them from each other as well as paying homage to the character’s home countries

Actually it’s the 3rd best ….scorpion/Johnny Cage and Liu Kang in the original were better with a fraction of the gore
Im at least glad they made Bi-Han an incredible adversary. He was the original chosen one. He defeated Fujin, Shinnok, and Quan Chi. The final two in the Netherrealm where they would have been more powerful.
As cool as this scene was I put this movie in the same category as a queen of the damned. This could've been so much more than what it was. This should've been a sub zero mythologies movie. There's more to bi han than just him killing scorpion's family. And I don't even think it was him. Wasn't Quan chi the one who had scorpion's family killed and framed bi han? Which in turn led scorpion to killing bi han... Which led to the transformation into noob sabot? Cole, Jax, Kano, Sonya, goro, kung Lao, liu Kang, etc really didn't need to be in the movie. MK missed a great opportunity here. This could've been a much better film.
No, Bi Han did kill Scorpion's Clan, but he did it under the orders of Quan Chi as Quan Chi wants strong souls to be controlled.
@@fg009letyrds8 Bi-Han only killed Scorpion. The clan was killed by Quan Chi, as a payment to Lin Kuei.
In the original timeline, Subzero killed Scorpion while Quan Chi killed his family, but in the "Current" timeline, Quan Chi did both, in the form of Subzero, leading Scorpion to think Bi Han did it.
@@DarkPretender205 it's the same way in the current timeline. Events of that are referenced in MK9 by Raiden and in intros of MK11.

Fun fact: Joe Taslim (The actor who played Bi-Han/Sub-Zero in the 2021 movie) said that he wanted the character's backstory to be explored more in the movie, because he knew that Bi-Han in the games was more human with a deep personality.

When scorpio came n said GET OVER HERE my inner child SCREAMED!!! they tried remaking so manu mortal kombats and this one was it!!! I didn't expect 🦂 to be in the movie at all in the beginning I sort of recognized when the father was fighting with his rope n kept retrieving it made me so happy to see him come help his son in the end and the music de de de de de de GET OVER HERE!!! Goosebumps!!!

The worst mistake Sub Zero made was attacking Cole while he was trying to save his family.
This is actually the realistic version bi han was always stronger then hanzo its why hanzo pretty much tried to kill off the lin kuei they produced fighters that could take on gods. However bi han was also arrogant and thats why he lost if he had simply decided to kill coal instead of play with his food it would have been all over

I don't care what anyone thinks about this movie, this whole ending sequence was the most hype scene from any piece of mortal Kombat Media. Tbh I think that Scorpions whole story (the beginning and his return here) was handled very well, despite the meh that some other parts of this movie are.
The movie wasn't perfect from a story telling point of view but the fan service moments were brilliant. Bravo to the stunt team 👏
