Adamant does not have "a high attack chance no matter the HP". It attacks consistently when low on HP, but when above half HP, its chance to pick a damaging move is only 38%. And with Slaking in particular, turn 1 could be your *only* chance to attack, so having a high failure rate on turn 1 is absolutely unacceptable.

The answer is "the Latios did not have the luxury of running Modest nature." A Modest Latios gets the OHKO 100% of the time with Psychic; a Sassy Latios only has a 50% chance.
Nope, because you have to remember that in the Palace, Nature affects move choices. The whole idea with Raikou is to have a poke that still has a good chance to attack after its HP falls below half. Hasty has an 88% chance at low HP to pick a damaging move; Timid has a 30% chance at low HP. Not worth it just for a 10% boost to Defense.
Makes me really sad that they removed this whole thing for ORAS... What did they say the reason was now again? That fans didn't care about any of this?
Why HP dark on the Raikou and not playing at a higher level with crunch ? Also, the opponents aren't affected by the rules of the battle palace, only you are. The AI just gets to pick move according to its normal code. So for the first battles, they simply pick randomly and when it starts getting harder, AI gets smarter, classic frontier shit. The crobat is actually almost as likely to click on toxic than confuse ray or double team on the first turn.
good questions! running higher level means time loss because slower HP bars, i used HP dark as a crunch substitute but after some good points made in the comments i think i’ll probably run HP ice going forward! also maybe i’m misunderstanding but i’m pretty sure the AI is affected by the rules of the battle palace, since i’ve also seen them get the “X is incapable of using its power!” text
@@ackoladeTV yeah, my bad, I missremembered. What the AI does is that it's able to choose what move to use after the rules are applied. For instance, let's say your opponent has your latios and you have a salamence. If the sassy let them attack, then they will always ice beam (after a certain point in the palace, which should be 4rth round and after)
Can someone enlighten me so as to why isn't deleting all moves but one the optimal strategy? I believe the consistency + choice held item offsets the disadvantages from only having one move per mon, no?
good question! if the rng for your pokemon attempts to use a move type (attack, defense, support) that isn’t in your moveset, there’s a 50% chance it won’t use a move at all - choice band sort of helps here, but you’re not allowed to bring item duplicates. also even with a choice band you’re still subject to the jank AI
Level 100 is not suitable for speedruns because when Pokémon are higher level and therefore have higher HP, the animation of their health bars draining takes longer.
good questions - HP dark is for neutral damage against magneton and raikou learns crunch at level 61 which would be illegal (in these games battle frontier doesn’t set a pokemon over level 50 back down to 50)
good point, originally the old WR had crunch on raikou until it was DQ’d for the reason i mentioned before - i changed it to HP dark because I assumed there was a reason old WR needed dark type coverage (maybe for grumpig/claydol) but i normally agree, obv pseudo boltbeam is generally better here
Since the Pokemon choose moves at random, having fewer moves means they're more likely to choose the ones you want. So it's effectively a 33% chance for Thunderbolt instead of 25%.
How do you “put a nature” on pokemon in Emerald? There are no legal ways to do this that I know. You have to go with the nature they have when they are caught or hatched. If you did cheat your mons why should I believe that you don’t cheat your run videos?

The answer is "the Latios did not have the luxury of running Modest nature." A Modest Latios gets the OHKO 100% of the time with Psychic; a Sassy Latios only has a 50% chance.
Very good video - but you messed up your less than and greater than symbols (0:22)
I took it as he is ranking the worst facilities so the palace is the greatest because it’s the most worst
It's the amount of "challenge" each presents
Would a -atk nature be better than -def for raikou?
be quiet
Nope, because you have to remember that in the Palace, Nature affects move choices. The whole idea with Raikou is to have a poke that still has a good chance to attack after its HP falls below half. Hasty has an 88% chance at low HP to pick a damaging move; Timid has a 30% chance at low HP. Not worth it just for a 10% boost to Defense.
@@dankusmemus7141 naw, that'd be Timid nature. Quiet is +SpA/-Spd. :)
@@underrated1524 you're autistic. I was telling him to be quiet
@@underrated1524 I see, this might have been worth a mention when the raikou was introduced
isthe run for ths gold medal video up or was it never done
Werster still has it up. Search for "Emerald All Gold Prints" and you should find it.
Makes me really sad that they removed this whole thing for ORAS... What did they say the reason was now again? That fans didn't care about any of this?
where's the link of the original video?
Search "Emerald All Gold Prints" and you should find it.
If the sassy let them attack, then they will always ice beam (after a certain point in the palace, which should be 4rth round and after)
This is extremely well made haha lmao
Idk how y’all speedrun the frontier, I’m still stuck at the factory and I’ve got 250 hours on my save 😂
Why tf did they nerf soul dew and not tell you
ultra instinct crobat
3:50 how is that possible????????????????
How you guys emulate this game?
So they coded Hell?
Werster is the goat
These comments are so unhinged lol
i’m glad its not just me LMAO
Hidden Power Dark is because Raikou doesn't learn Crunch by level 50, right? Why not do the level 100 version?
Level 100 is not suitable for speedruns because when Pokémon are higher level and therefore have higher HP, the animation of their health bars draining takes longer.
If I remember correctly you cannot challenge the frontier brains in the Lv. 100 category.
@@solidzackno you definitely can lol
Why did Raikou have hidden power dark? hp ice is better coverage, and even among dark moves, Raikou learns crunch.
good questions - HP dark is for neutral damage against magneton and raikou learns crunch at level 61 which would be illegal (in these games battle frontier doesn’t set a pokemon over level 50 back down to 50)
@@ackoladeTV steel resists dark in ADV. That didn't get changed until gen 6
good point, originally the old WR had crunch on raikou until it was DQ’d for the reason i mentioned before - i changed it to HP dark because I assumed there was a reason old WR needed dark type coverage (maybe for grumpig/claydol) but i normally agree, obv pseudo boltbeam is generally better here
Even if you use save states, at some point you WILL lose
If you use save states and still lost, you're doing it wrong. I used save states and have all Gold Symbols in Emerald Battle Frontier
The Sinnoh Battle Frontier is also very good! It's not that bad at all! :D
What's the song at 9:25?
Gadget Training Room - Ape Escape 3
Love these videos!
This is goated
I always knew Crobat was best mon
Never spent much time in the battle facility. But this is complete BS.
Seeing these "pros" ragequit is quite satisfying.
3:15 why does Raiku only have 3 moves?
Since the Pokemon choose moves at random, having fewer moves means they're more likely to choose the ones you want. So it's effectively a 33% chance for Thunderbolt instead of 25%.
Right. Thanks
“Unfortunate” doesn’t begin to describe my series, this game rewards blind luck and nothing else, I am beyond convinced at this point.
How do you “put a nature” on pokemon in Emerald? There are no legal ways to do this that I know. You have to go with the nature they have when they are caught or hatched. If you did cheat your mons why should I believe that you don’t cheat your run videos?
verlisify is that you
