She's in like, 3 movies this year alone! The devil works hard, Amandla working harder!
How the devil is working I don’t understand?
@@elyzazaza he's not it's just a saying.
She is a warrior:3
Amandla means power in my languages Xhosa and Zulu from South Africa.
they are truly amazing
This movie was actually really good. I recommend it. You won’t regret watching it.
Samantha Castillo ... I wasn't sure to watch it till I read ur comment, thanks tho it's was great
Samantha Castillo where can I find this movie I look it up but this movie doesn’t show up??
anonimo pt.2 oh I found it you have to rent it on amazon for 4.99 but it’s a bomb ass movie you have to watch it it’s worth the 2 hours 😩😂
Where can i watch the movie?
Why does the guy die?!!! 😭😭
When the mother says: “For each of us, there is someone,” cuts to a clip of the two leads, leading us to believe its about them, “... for me, it’s you.” And it’s really a mother’s love for her daughter. Wow. That hit me hard.
Amandla is really getting them coins though. You go girl
I remember when she was in Columbiana and now she a well known actress
2nd movie with her love line
Whats amazing about being a Nazi bedwentch? This movie is disgusting and white worship
True

It’s never a UA-cam trailer without people getting mad in the comments
my like is for your comment and adorable thumbnail
Sky G You speak the truth
Tell me abt it... im sick of it. I just wanna enjoy the trailer!!
And someone commenting on the comments. Bc...movies aren't supposed to make you *feel* anything. 🤗 Ya know...you don't *have* to read them...🤓
Ugh, I know.
Finally saw the movie...I literally cried for a good 5 minutes or more . I didn't realize how it would affect me in that way. Overall it's a good movie. It may not be everyone's cup of tea but I considered it one of those unforgettable forbidden love stories.
I think it's amazing how the world gets angry if this young actress gets casted a 'regular black teenager' because she's not 'black enough', but when she's casted as an interracial teenager, which is exactly what the roll calls for, now 'she's not the only interracial teen in existence'. C'mon!! We've all heard of 'IT girls' and right now SHE'S IT!! Is she just NOT supposed to work?? Hollywood's not gonna cast a no-name actress as opposed to a big name when they're trying to get butts in the seats. Her face is certainly what made me click on this trailer!
She is the reason I clicked too.... Saw her clicked fast
preach
Thank u!!!
You need to say this more than once for people to actually see it and get it!
Thats not it really; what we really want is a variety. Not just her being picked for every black girl or mixed girl role in Hollywood.I honestly love her, but diversity would be nice .
amandla getting the recognition she deserves by being in a lot of movie lately makes me happy
yet the director's white husband is spokesman for the European Police in the Hague. So basically this movie is some kind of pro-migrant movie.
To be honest she does not look half german/half black. The actress Denise vasi looks more half german. The biracial actress in this movie looks half Italian/black not half german. It's not accurate and they could have picked half german/black actress Denise Vasi to play the part
@@Jordan-ul4rs theres no specific look to being biracial, what you think she should look like doesn't matter, I'm german/black as well and many people don't think I look it, but whether what they think or not doesn't matter to my DNA. Shes danish/black, so they picked someone close enough......
Okay I rented this movie and balled my eyes out. The second half of the movie is so extremely raw and emotional. I recommend this movie to everyone.
He's a race traitor u heard!?
She always falling in love with some white boy, lmfaooo.
Hahahahaha
She loves her white zaddy. Her dad is white so I understand her love to the white oppressors and race
Its just natural to fall in love with the aestetic white man.
Hollywood producers really have a thing for "White male/Black female" relationships. The reverse? Not so much.
Going for the Ubermensch, of course.
The people complaining about her being in so many movies are really dumb. First of all, all the films had different studios and directors, so it's not like Tyler Perry that uses the same black people every time. Second, you audition, and dozens or hundreds probably did, she just did a better job. Third, films are made years in advance, so a couple more are coming out, she is just a busy actress applying for roles, getting them, and then doing her job. So, people are confused and/or hating because the bi-racial girl is working hard?
phocian ok I don’t for sure know about the audition part she might be to big for that idk really
we aren't hating its just nice to see more than one person all the time
Of course we want new faces. She isn't the only bi-racial actor out there. Im also getting tired of seeing the rock in every jungle movie.
this is the SADDEST movie ever im literally in TEARS
What happened?
You need to watch boy in pyjama
HOW TO DRAW NK where I can watch
@@supppsuppp9001 you can find it on youtube, like whole movie
@@kovacicnirvana6702 I watched that as well, it broke my heart too. Either estrogen is one hell of a hormone or these nazi-germany movies are an emotional roller coaster. Probably both. I'm an emotional wreck and these movies just make it worse. Why am I crying in the middle of class? I'm going to go blow my nose now.
Looks so cool! But the German accents make me cringe
Lilli yeah they should have hired real German actors
lol same. That's my pet peeve, actors speaking English with an accent instead of the ACTUAL language. I can't stand it ughhh lol. But I get over it, this looks great I'll be watching.
I agree. I think it looks like a beautiful film. HOWEVER! If they want to do the accents just have German actors acting or write the film in German. I don't understand why the English speaking market is so adverse watching foreign language films. On the other hand Christopher Ecclestone is gorgeous and I can't wait. Even if he is playing a Nazi.
Abbie Cornish is lovely but a really poor actress.
it is a English movie, the screen writer probably does not speak German and especially when you don't know the other language alot of things can get lost in translation and bring down the quality of the writing. Which could also bring down the quality of the movie itself. And the movie is also American so I what I think they are trying to do is speak to modern America with faces they already know. For alot of the people this movie is trying to educate have already drawn a line between they're actions and the Nazi's. So having German actions could have indirectly created the image for a 'thats a German problem's mentality and the movie is trying to create a this is an American problem because our people are recreating the German tragedy.
Thank u so much for making this movie. Their love was so pure, it broke my heart. I cried so much for something they had, yet, could not have. Such pain of loving but not being able to be together in a world that puts people in categories, in boxes, in fences. Will this world ever change? I think not. 😢
I want to watch this movie. I hope to tell you that this world has not changed completely, but it has just a little :). My parents dated before the Apartheid system in SA ended.. they could only marry in 1990 when the apartheid laws were broken. My Dad is White, and Mum Indian. and now theres me! Mixed from two different worlds. I have struggled to find my place, but I am finding it as a mixed person! If you don't know what apartheid is, you can google it - South Africa. The most cruel form of separation by colour. I hope for a world that continues to become more open and less judgmental based on colour.
@@Alexa-rd4vc thank u for sharing ur story. Nice hybrid there. Even till now tho, people still judge by skin colour. Even if they don't act upon it, it's in their minds. Bless SA, bless Mandela

Amandla has been in so many movies lately back to back and i LOVE IT!!!
Keaira Manigault yeah love her being the only “black” actress, representing black girls even though she’s only half. Like omg we love colourism.
like wht movies has she been in?
@@lexyshade6115 stfu. She isn't the only girl representing black girls. Stop being jealous you neek
words can’t describe how much this film just changed my life. absolutely beautiful and heart wrenching 😫💔
I don’t what y’all in the comments are talking about. I love Amandla! ❤️❤️☺️Plus she is a biracial girl, playing a biracial girl!
Avery G. For once in her life.
@gabriella gabriella well it has something to do with her actual German heritage?
@Gabriella Redondo Amandla is Zulu meaning power. English names aren’t the only names
She is black, biracial my foot. She is ours, she knows herself.
She’s biracial. Her last name is a dead giveaway too🙄
why didn't they just simply cast some German actors? They would've been able to actually do a German accent and it would've made it more believable. Just saying...
Irs even worse with russians. They speak crappy fake russian words or russian phrases which make no sense
Jazzy jj and?
It is a BRITISH produced and written and directed film.
@@OakleyANDSittingBull And it is placed in GERMANY with german characters.
She IS german... Idiot.
Amandla is so stupidly pretty.
Honestly would prefer they did the 'everyone inexplicably has English accents' thing than *German accented English. What a weird choice.
the accented English was German
It’s a German accent
You do know that the events of the film happen in Germany? Saying that the accented English is weird is just as stupid as me saying cowboy films should not have a western accent
I am aware lol? What I'm saying is they either should have cast Germans speaking English, Germans speaking German or gone the English accent route. What they've chosen is an awkward in between, in my opinion.
By accented English I meant German accented English language. Sorry if I made that unclear.
@@danajh6216 I am entirely aware it's set in Germany. It would be impossible to watch this trailer and misunderstand that. I should have said German accented English. Personally, I'd probably assume someone worded something badly than imagine they were that dense.
Everyone is like "another black girl could have played that role", well name her. The last time I look she is the only one. I don't here anybody complaining about Taraja P being the only black female to be in a slew of movies lately. She is just doing her best to build up her portfolio as an actress.
She is the only one because they only hire her you really about to tell me she is the ONLY black girl to audition for stuff? Lordt the ignorance is strong
J. Coups She might be the only decent one. There is no reason for casters to pick her over someone better with a probably lower pay..
I’d whether judge the quality of the movie instead of this who’s who squabble.
Tiaesha Nicole you are so right!
She is perfect for this part. This looks like a fantastic movie. I can't wait to see it. People are always finding something negative to say. They need to ask themselves what are they doing with their own lives. Stop worrying about everyone else's so called role, and evaluate your own.
To be honest she does not look half german/half black. The actress Denise vasi is half german/black and should have been casted for the role. The biracial actress in this movie looks half Italian/black not half german. It's not accurate
screenwriter: Ok, I've got an idea about nazis and...
every hollywood producer to ever live: sold! let's do it
And, the idea was based on some of the true facts from back then. Rhinehart Bastards (children of white mothers and French Army of African descent fathers) where highly persecuted and most were exposed to forced sterilization so they couldnt have children. Even with German mothers, they were not considered german.
I wish they had just hired German actors instead of American's doing the accent.
im surprised no one yet commented "no one would watch movie with unknown German actors" fine, than find an American with German descent, that shouldn't be that hard

I love the movie Belle! I feel like no one actually saw that film...how can we get more people to watch it??
I also saw it and it's still one of my favorite movies! It didn't get enough recognition, IMO.
truer words have never been spoken
I thought Belle was an interesting film.
I watched it loved it
I seen it ... Wasn't all that ... And I like interracial movies
Why has this movie not gotten more recognition??? Absolutely beatiful story. Those times were probably the most hardest to live in but the Romance and love stories were so beautiful..
Am I the only one confused as to why her mother moved to Berlin in the first place ?
n jo
Yeah.. she said "To be invisible"..... UUuhhhhmmmm... I don't think that'll work out.
Berlin was a large city with a more diverse population, with a larger number of Afro-German families.
Not knowing the beginning - where they were before, my guess is that they lived in a small town before moving. Unfortunately in that situation, it is very very easy for someone like this young girl to stand out and become the focus of the local police/authorities. By moving to Berlin, a big city, you remove yourself from those small town authorities who may be focused on you and yes gain a level of invisibility. Now, obviously it can’t always work but yah.
In order to understand you need to understand history. They didn't move to Berlin at the peak of WWII, this is pre-war, this trailer seems to show them moving there prior to the full impact of Hitler and his plan for the aryan race. Like "WildWestSamurai" pointed out, in the 1920s and early 1930s, Berlin was a very liberal city. It was diverse, it was rich in culture, it was a center for artists, musicians, writers, members of the homosexual community, and there were many different races living in harmony there. It is partly because of this diverse and liberal history that the atrocities of WWII came as such a shock to the world and to the German people as well, and it's a testament to how insidious Hilter's hatred and propaganda plan was. Simmering under this liberal facade was a deep and unexpressed anger that Hitler directed slowly and effectively against the Jewish, the Roman/Sinti, the Disabled, The Homosexual, Afro-Europeans & any sympathizers with those communities. The Nazi destruction of art and literature was intentional; it stripped away the rich cultural diversity of the German state and left it with nothing but fear and hatred of the "other" and it did this slowly. So slowly that the people did not even realize that they were being indoctrinated into a new culture of hatred, the natural progression of which was the genocide of all non-aryan persons. So here, they traveled to what they thought and hoped would be an inclusive community and it quickly became one of the most oppressive and exclusionary states.
And as a side-bar, the history of the fall of liberal Germany, and the rise of Hitler in the 1930s can teach the United States a lot about our current political rhetoric from 2016-2018. Make no mistake, liberal states can and have fallen from grace in horrific and violent ways, and unless we learn from the pitfalls of our predecessors we may be doomed to repeat their errors, to the detriment of all.
n jo yeah if you’re black and you’re a traveler they tell you to stay in the capital because its the most safest , word on the street there is some places in germany where if you’re black you might not live another day .
I mean I love Amandla. But c’mon there are so many other talented actors of color who could have played this role. Like She doesn’t need to play every single black teen in a movie
Name a few
Except this role actually required a *biracial* actress. I'd like to see actresses like Amandla and Zendaya in biracial roles instead of black roles, because that's true to life.
Not all biracial girls look like her. They could've chosen someone else.
I mean long as she acts well in the movie, I dnt feel it matters all that much ...
@@digitalbritt2k you are so wrong... it's d other way around... they usually use biracial for black roles all the time... not black ppl for biracial... example the character of storm was full black in the comics but they used Halle berry and Alexandra still who are biracial
This movie had me crying all different types of tears omg...a must watch. Amandla is a great actress.
tbh I'm almost more offeneded by the accents than the story lmao
Hahahahahaha Haaaaaaaaaa 😆😆😂😂
y'all Germans offended at everything completely disregarding y'all's history
Adrien Samuel we don’t Desgurd our history we just don’t like to talk about it.
Adrien Samuel we know we did something wrong and we’re sorry for it but it’s not this generations fault now is it ?
@@annamcatter1031 Exactly. The new generation should never be blamed for what their ancestors did. Stuff like that make it harder for people to make progression.
I'm glad that Hollywood is finally casting Biracial people as Biracial instead of casting them as black with two black parents. It always seemed odd to me that they had Lisa Bonett playing a black child in the Cosby Show, with two black parents, when she is visibly mixed race lol. Like Drake, Lisa Bonett Mother is Jewish and Father is Black.
Xher Blood you can “be visibly look like a mixed kid”and have both of your parents black🗿
Usually they are very recently mixed mgm. I have friends like that and they identify as mixed. Throw back genes are very rare, so those parents would be seen as white or mixed in Africa and Caribbean. Identity is different to what you are. 10 or 15 percent isn’t like being 30 or 40 percent recent mixtures
Maybe Clair Huxtable cheated on Bill. Barack Obama doesn't look like he's biracial.
That's because in America, African American/black people are mixed race, that's what it means in America. Being Bi-racial is being African American/black even if they look completely African.
My sister is light skinned and her parents are really dark (we don’t have the same dad)
Such a great movie it managed to reach my deepest feelings and it made me cry endlessly. This movie is so underrated
In all seriousness the movie was pretty damn good. Definitely has some triggering moments but I was entertained an pretty invested in their story.
ua-cam.com/video/6lv3Knvisg0/v-deo.html

What happened at the end then ?
No you watched a trailer that gave you enough information to be interested in the movie but not give away every major plot point
@@yesiamabby5372 yeah exactly
i honestly want to watch the movie but cannot find it anywhere I keep finding bad reviews did they mib it from the face of the earth
Margie beaty lol same. I want to

THE ACCENTS ARE SO BAD I AM UPSET
I'm angry that the movie isn't actually in German. This movie has The Weinstein Company written all over it, because they did that all the time. I honestly watched the trailer carefully so I could spot some German actors I know from films and TV shows I've seen on Netflix...but I don't recognize any actors. I hope they didn't teach a bunch of nobodies how to speak with a German accent instead of hiring some German somebodies....
Sabrina Haertig ikr yikes

@La Ra because the just could use german actors instead of this shitty accent!
YASSSS QUEEN AMANDLA IS BACK WITH ANOTHER MOVIE.

She's in everything everything... Every biracial movie
oooh those puns. and hate you give which is just general black and yes its not going down well
Dont see i complaining about jennifer lawerence or bradley cooper
Because she’s an amazing biracial actress
Still a good movie. Makes me want to read the book.
because she's pretty as fuck
This looks very interesting. I can see in the comments that some have their complaints, but I think this is actually a very unique story. We have movies that include world wars and love, but I don't have seen biracial young couples during a war that's not the US. Especially when it gives a different look as to what young men delt with while in germany during the war.
Honestly this movie was amazing it took me a while to return to reality after watching it👏🏻👏🏻
Anna Boka where can I watch it...Netflix ??.
Just here for the salty comments, and am not disappointed. Lol🤭
Looks like a decent film otherwise x
Yeah, I'll confess, the movie looks good but it's not really on my "must-see" list. I clicked on this video to see the racists freaking out in the comments.
This is my Saturday morning. I need better hobbies.
Nah, Saturdays are great for doing feck all unless you want to. Sometimes it's nice to do nothing in particular. I spent yesterday in my pj's drinking tea and watching a Skinwalker Ranch documentary with a neighbour. For some reason this film came up in suggestions. That and some random guy asking women in public if he could suck their toes.😂 UA-cam worries me sometimes. Lol
It's fun watching morons seethe ;p

Ha! That does sound like a nice way to spend a Saturday. I was productive in the early morning but the rest of it was also just vegetating with a pot of tea on the go. And lucky me, we have a long weekend here in Canada, tomorrow being Labour Day, so I'm looking forward to more of the same. And maybe taking the recycling to the depot if I can find the motivation.
I see Amandla Stenberg. I click.
Kyra Slegers I see Amandla I cringe
y'all are judging but don't even know there's true events like these.
People love to hate.
sp00kyguk there was. The book called enemies in love was similar
ik theres true events
People are hating because she has a white guy in most of her films. So what? Love is love. A lot of BW WM couples out here appreciate it. Finally more relationships like this on TV. In the end we are all looking for the same thing. Love ❤️
and also the story would simply not make sense if they were both black.
hell is coming
SHE'S BIRACIAL !!! EVERY MOVIE SHE DOSE IS AMAZING!
They not crying about her being with a white man they're crying because Hollywood like to push a image that is detrimental to black families but this money right here was based on a true story so I don't care about the guy being white
What a thing to hate about=white guy. How do they think she got to be mixed race? whether it's white mother, or white father, happens all the time
I can never understand how people today get triggered by interracial relationships. You would think they would have empathy for those who struggled to have a interracial relationship decades ago
“naw” - rosa parks
elssa it’s “nah” and she wasn’t the first to stand up to the white people for sitting in a seat specifically for white people.

A very sad story. I was sorry for them both. For her, she was pregnant, and Lutz, who was shot by his own father. Since 1917 I have followed the footprint of Gerge MacKay. He is very good actor, he has talent, there is something about him.
(Almost) Everyone doesn't like the fact that she is starring in the movie. Could we at least acknowledge that she is an amazing actress. She is getting her career started, and I haven't seen you on the theaters yet. So, don't say she's not a good actress. If you're working on doing theater, great for you! I hope to see you on wonderful movies. Just please stop hating on teen actress that's doing HER career.
Perfectly said
This movie killed me i cried so hard it was a a amazing movie everyone should watch it
Amandla Stenberg is everywhere and I'm not even complaining
Looks like it’s a masterpiece of a film, it would be interesting to watch. At the same time, I probably won’t because of the subject matter... a world full of hatred keeping two people from being together in love. Probably Not the film to watch if you are already in a miserable mood and need something happy to cheer you up.
Understood! Probablh wouldn't huft to invest in their story though. Just thought I share that from a comment I read after yours.
Bless Up 😊
This movie made me cry 8 different time during the movie. Great movie but it’s so sad :((
This looks so good!!! As a biracial girl of german ancestry i really need to see this. Love truly does bind us all and its crazy that this movie has not been talked about more. Hitler literally took every biracial male and female and killed, some nazis even raped, tortured and did experiments on them. Its sick but i like this perspective of how love couldve changed a young nazi boys heart. Just bc he was a nazi did not make him evil, he was young and you must understand that they brainwashed everyone and forced young men like him to fight a war they did not truly know what or why they were fighting.
The Nazis did not have every biracial male and female killed. Many black and biracial people served in the Wehrmacht and even the SS. That's not to say they weren't discriminated against, but there was no mischlinge extermination program.

HiByebtwn this actually happened. You ever heard of the book enemies of war? A black nurse and German pow fell in love and had kids. Married each other too.
Wow. I can feel the heartbreak through the trailer. Can't wait to see this❤
"For each of us, there is someone. For me, it's you". Avery powerful line from a Mother...to a Daughter.
On another note, I believe she's found her trademark when it comes to acting and playing a character that has a Caucasian lover? Just as how you'd find Leonardo Dicaprio in a lot of Martin Scorsese films/movies and Johnny Depp: Tim Burton characters and just characters in which, he wears a costume...She's still young. So, she's got years to go when coming to placing more versatility in terms of roles on her resume.
Yeah but, that's not what I'd meant with my comment. II'd noticed how many comments spoke of the characters she plays having a Caucasian love interest so, I'd simply thought, maybe it's becoming like a trademark for her. Either way, she may not get to decide who's cast alongside her but, it's not like she doesn't know beforehand about the character she's auditioning for and what the role entails...
I think it's more about what's available than about her 'trademark', if you can even call it that. There're honestly not that many movies with black female leads, so I don't think she has much of a choice if she wants work.
@@iammilorex That is true. Still, she's becoming a hot commodity now so, yuh never know. I don't always think it's about what's available. Back to back to back she's starring in movies one after the other (As you are, Everything, Everything, The Darkest Minds, The Hate U Give). At 19, she's got time. Also, with her looks, she can play other roles with different ethnic backgrounds etc. As it stands though, her characters are being paired with Caucasian leads. For some, it's a pattern. N I'm sure her agent(if she has one) sees it when coming to roles that may work for her. To Directors n Producers, those things look good on resume. I'm just pointing out a possibility, yuh know?
The Book Thief is my favorite movie. Thx for reading this.

My only complaint is and im not against multiracial relationships, but why is it that they're only ever with a black woman and white man. The only movies with two blacks in a positive relationship was recently Black Panther, but besides that, I find it hard to find a movie where a black couple didn't try to either get revenge or kill each other. I blame Perry haha
Have you ever seen "A United Kingdom"?

Don’t blame Perry. He creates real movies about real black experience for the most part. Hollywood is white so why are we surprised yet and still when they don’t represent us realistically? White Hollywood only cares about things that are centered around their own hand, history and narrative. There are exceptions but still...
@@courbynebufford3550 that's kind of sad when you think about it...
does anybody know when this is being released on dvd?
I want to see this film but atm have no way to buy or rent it. Wishing Netflix or CBC Gem would offer it! (I get both of them.)
