@veritas17 hi, the one I used came in a repair kit with other stuff but now they are no longer selling it on Amazon. The suction cup closest to the one I used is this one amzn.to/42L7B9i
Thank you for being the only repair man that links where they got their screen replacements from. Ive been searching for days trying to find a replacement. I hope your channel grows big so you can guide others.
I like the honesty while explaining the battery damage. The battery was likely not changed by Samsung themselves. Why i think this is the higher level of QC after the Note 7 series. Great guide though.
I have a question After replacing the screen Will we loose the water resistant? The IP68 ? Or the phone can be working as needed as before without any problems
Would applying a small amount of sillicone to all the edges around the phone make any troubles? I find it interesting to try this out before applying the back glass to the phone. It could probably limit the water entry into "repaired and opened" phone. What do you think?
Silicone not sure which one you are talking about....if it's too thick it might not probably work well as you expected. By Silicone what I can think of is the B7000 which is the liquid glue that solidify into clear plastic. Adding that to the double sided tape can work well I have done it in the past. I would still avoid fully Submerging the device as you'll be only guessing that because you did that it might be restored to ip68. Which might not be the case and can damage you device if you Submerged it.
I have heard somewhere that once the back glass or display part of the phones having any IP rating is opened, then the IP rating goes away permanently and the phones become seriously vulnerable to water damage. Is it really the case? Would appreciate an answer to this.
Hi, exactly. I did the stubborn and tested the water test after replacing the back glass lol it failed then motherboard failed then permanently damaged. Galaxy S23 Ultra Water Damaged Repair Attempt ua-cam.com/video/8iJ37bkTC84/v-deo.html
I work at a samsung certified repair shop. We reseal the front lcd and back glass with samsungs adhesive rework kit and perform outgoing quality control to make sure we sealed it enough. Without a good seal it will get water damage.
It depends. Some double sided tape are of very good quality those can be used without adding extra b7000. Even those really good ones should get benefits of adding a very small layer of b7000. If you don't have the glue b7000 you will be fine using the double-sided tape alone. Black double sided tape were the ones with the worst quality they are very thin and will not hold for long.
Changing the body/frame only is extremely risky for the screen. There's a very high chance to damage the screen while trying to separate it from the body of the phone. It's better to get a new body with screen pre-installed and replace your screen. Then you can sell the damaged body and screen to get something back.
Do you want to replace? 1- Glass only 2- Screen Only 3- Screen (screen with frame) ? Depending on the choice the risks of failing is different from 100% success rate all the way to 30%.
Hi all I have cracked my Samsung s23 ultra Where i am living I am told it will cost 250 pound for the screen replacement. Samsung does trade ins but will fetch me only 120 pound and additionally the cost of a new s24 u of 645pounds. Should I just replace the screen or trade in which seems to be a better option? Please advice. Thanks in advance
I usually have my heat gun at max power/heat then circle around the back of the phone for 20 seconds then try to lift if it doesn't work I will heat again 20s. If that still doesn't work heat for 30 seconds still while moving around it should be enough.
Hello Friend, I replaced my s23 display but after the refresh rate of the screen feels like 30hz. It is a 60hz display but really not a bad quality. What can I do ?
Why was the battery damaged? It's a fairly new phone. My screen cracked as well, even with the Otterbox Defender case. That indestructible Gorilla glass marketing is pure garbage. This phone is prone to getting dropped because of the weight.
For this one I do not know as I purchased the device to show how to fix it. The battery must have been mishandled by the previous person who opened the device or assembled the phone. That's the only thing I can think of. Hahah no matter what they advertise these screens will break its good for their repair programs business 🤣
@@ersbit For sure! Here's the thing; I've never been a fan of large size smart phones like the ultra because they're more awkward to handle so there is a greater likelihood for dropping the phone. The extra weight doesn't help either. Oh well. $hit happens.
@@ersbit I just had mine replaced and it was quite an ordeal. UbreakitIfix gives priority to those who have insurance, so if you're paying out of pocket expect a long wait. The curved screen design is complete garbage and prone to cracking; no wonder Samsung went with the flat screen design for the S24. Anyone who owns an S23 Ultra should purchase a wallet style case with a magnetic clip so the screen is covered when not in use. Otterbox Defender cases are useless, as are the tempered glass screen protectors.
In reality replacing like this you would not be able to certify or test the IP rating or water resistance since you do not have the machine they use to make sure it is water sealed and certified. You can just Submerge the phone but if it fails you might have a broken device and have a definitive answer to is it water resistant again. I recommend avoiding water after you do any type of repair as you would not be able to positively confirm the status of the IP rating. It may be fine for light water and rain but anything Submerging the phone fully might be too risky.
Someone please help me out here....I took my Samsung s23 ultra for a screen replacement like this and it came back with not reading the sim card and when I plug it up for charge it shut down and not taken no charge whatsoever...what can be the problem?? I'm so frustrated right now 😫😫
Did a shop fix the phone for you? Or you did it yourself? If they fixed it for you in a shop it's better to bring the phone back to them as if you try something they can say you have done it wrong and they cannot touch it anymore. If it was done by yourself or a friend there's something that was not done right either a bad connection of the flex cables (most likely if the device before the repair was in normal working condition).
Ok. The best move is to bring it back to them so that they can fix it. It seems to be very recent so they cannot refuse to take it back as it is not working well.
@ersbit could not connecting the USB port cause a issue of it blanking out or it not reading the sim card? Cause it was working fine until I got it changed
@terryakamadcat no not really. It should not do that. Maybe the charging module was not installed properly or is not sitting right after the repair. The charging module has the sim card and USB-C port on it. Or when you plugged a usb it moved due to improper installation same thing can happen with sin card if you took it out since it the same pcb board. The fix should be easy (making sure all the cables connected to the charging module are connected all the way and not superficially and also making sure the charging module is installed properly and all the screws were installed. I doubt the charging module is bad since it was fine until you use the charge port and sim card tray.
