The main benefit to Sliders over standard running boards is the element of armor. Sliders can withstand tremendous forces and support the weight of the vehicle as it slides over rock obstacles, protecting the vulnerable rocker panel area from damage while navigating offroad obstacles. Your average running board style step will crumple instead of providing any protection.
@@RetroFrito to add onto what victory said. Traditional running boards are mounted to your rocker panel on the back side of the body. They aren't ment for abuse. The sliders shown in the video are frame mounted which is a SIGNIFICANTLY stronger mounting solution....as victory said, can take the weight of the truck and hold up. Victories sliders here are pretty much the only ones that look and function like a traditional running board but with the benefits of rock sliders
