He has a unique voice....I haven't listened another singer like him....the same thing happens with Blackie Lawless, nobody sings like them....Hail Paul !!!!!!!
He changed his singing style in the mid-1990's to sound more like Phil Anselmo (more aggressive delivery) from Pantera. He even shaved his head to look like Phil.
Actually he shaved his head during the recordings of Killers Murder One album as his band members were ripping the piss out of his receding hair and his dreadlocks, so he said to Gavin (bassist) to shave his head. Graham his former guitarist told me this a few years ago when I met up with him for a few beers lol
I do not included solo career albums because they are compilations ,only from the bands where he participated and I do not included the feel my pain because from manace to society to feel my pain there is no change in vocal style
You should have compared the same song (live version) from the late 70's until present day. There are tons of Maiden songs that he's consistently performed throughout his 40 year career (ie. Sanctuary, Iron Maiden, Remember Tomorrow, Murders in the Rue Morgue, Wrathchild, Running Free, Phantom of the Opera) where you can actually hear the change in how he sung the songs, being less melodic (deliberately) getting more aggressive with them in the 1990's to completely abandoning actual lyrics (becoming lazy) starting in the 2000's and getting even worse in the 2010's.
Sinceramente a paul le fue y se iso famoso solo por dos joyas impecables k son los primeros dos álbumes de maiden después de eso cantar a phillip anselmo o sea nisikiera conservó su propia voz... lo pense y lo escribi
You missed the live album with Praying Mantis which is basically the most important album if we want to talk about the change in Paul's voice. You can hear both young and older Paul on this one, often at the exact same moment. It's pretty freaky!
@@killersmusicchannel439 Nah, he still sounded like his younger self during that live 1990 performance with Praying Mantis, however it was shortly after that when his singing style change to a more aggressive delivery being influenced by Phil Anselmo from Pantera. He even shaved his head around that time to look like Phil. His vocals got even more aggressive by the mid-late 90's, but he could still easily sing clean when he wanted to and could for years after that.
@@Danimal77 For the most part yes, but listen to Murders In The Morgue or Iron Maiden. He couldn't do the fast punk songs like back in the day and pretty soon he developed the "hardcore" voice we hear on Murder One. I do believe he was technically a better singer in the '90s, but nowhere near as special as he was in the '80s.
so what you're telling me is between 1994 and 1998, he was in Pantera? Cause it sure sounded like it LOL. And you missed his best song of all time, The Living Dead, better than any of his Iron Maiden work.
I love Paul's voice and still listen to his Maiden and Battlezone records all the time, but that Killers album with "Die by the Gun", man that was a wretched P.O.S. Hurts like hell to say, but I finally had to purge it out of the collection.
@@killersmusicchannel439 He was too concerned with following the nu-metal trend than with putting out quality metal like he did with Battlezone, and to a slightly lesser degree, Killers' Murder One album. I don't know what actually happened, but I feel his best bet would've been to continue int he same vein as Battlezone instead of trying to re-invent the band.
Paul had such an amazing voice back in the early 80s

I agree
Even the guitar style sounds like Dimebag.
He looked like Fred Durst.

Paul Di Anno forever
THE voice of Iron Maiden. A rawer, more straightforward sound that I feel would have kept Maiden from getting too progressive.
INCOMPLETE!! AND THE ORIGINAL IRON MEN 1995 & 1996?? AS HARD AS IRON AND THE WORLDS FIRST IRON MAN IN 1997?? FEEL MY PAIN 1998??
