Kat Graham definitely deserved much better storylines than the ones she was given as Bonnie. She should have been allowed to wear her natural hair, and didn't receive as much focus as Elena or Caroline, the white female leads.
And not to mention just so beautiful and apparently kind to boot. All that besides being one of the best actors throughout the entire series, hands down. That scene where gram dies?! I've only ever watched clips from that episode and despite that, her performance makes my old jaded ass tear up every👏 single👏 time.👏 Ugh. #justiceforkatgraham
I actually really appreciate how seriously you take some of the content and context of these scenes. Like sure, we could all poke fun at the dramatics of vampires in life or death situations, but you looked for the human side of big moments and dug into what it would feel like if it was all real. I think that’s a cool way to look back on this series, and it highlights a lot of important themes.

I LOVE your deep dives so much. Especially that you don't just mindlessly follow the hate trains for charaters, like Matt. He does definitely get worse later on, but in season one especially I have always felt bad for Matt and his situation with his mom and Vicki and being left all alone, and hearing you acknowledge it and actually empathize with him was just amazing! Same thing with human Elena, cause I feel like people just mindlessly hate on her, despite the fact that she's just a 17 year old girl in really complicated situations trying to do the best she can. Human Elena especially in the early season is so kind and you can tell that she's really mature and empathetic and giving, especially to those she cares for . Hearing you actually give thoughtful opinions and actually try to understand each character makes your reactions so good. I think because people generalize The Vampire Diaries as a cheesy teen drama it takes away that it also has surprisingly dark themes and the actors/actresses actually bring really amazing performances that pull on one's heartstrings.

I have a theory outside of plot hole for why Damon asked about why Stefan has issue with human blood: in basic therapy concepts like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), there’s a large component that focuses on self-acknowledgement of a situation (in this case addiction). Basically he was trying to get Stefan to explain it in his own words rather than drawing assumptions from his own observations. (Also, exposition for the audience)

i know people generally don't like matt but honestly in season 1 i really enjoyed him, especially his arcs with his mom. him really struggling with having to be an adult and not having anyone else take care of him, losing his family; it's very understandable why he's not a main character but honestly having a character from a different background is pretty interesting. i kind of wish this show had elena and jeremy deal with issues like that after jenna died or something, something maybe buffy the vampire slayer season 6 - esque (ik you said you haven't seen it but basically after buffy's mom died she became her sister's legal guardian and had to deal with money issues along with all the supernatural stuff), but that just might be me haha.
