Miss those videos. Thank you so much for doing this. I absolutely love all your vids so don’t change any. I just love this back to memory lane. Bringing me back to opening youtube for one of the first time and look for miniature terrain and your video came out. The one you had a beer. I wondered…can I do that with 3D modeling? (Have chronic injury limiting me with my environment) So I learned 3D Modeling. 4 years later…I’m a creator. Thank you for inspiring me.
I like your hat and your hut.
This came out really sweet. I really love how easily you did the thatched roof, a lot faster and less messy. Well done.
These are my favorite type videos of yours! Pure detailed builds and painting. If you could do a broken down Castle and a a ghost pirate ship that would be awesome! Keep up the amazing work! You are an inspiration!!! 👍
This is SUCH a good idea. I love the immersiveness of D&D but the struggle is real finding time and scheduling as an adult (sigh)... but a casual "can play anytime for any length of time" game with terrain is literally genius. Thank you for the inspiration!
Banga vid Jeremy!
Straight up old school great great project.
That is an amazing little hut. I love that it can go between the board game and the D&D table.
I love how simple this is, but especially how genuinely excited you sounded to do it. It feels authentic, and we know this piece is gonna see some play time. And it comes across in your tone!
I finally bought my first sheet of XPS and it's such a game changer.
I went straight into home depot and walk away with a big 1" slate of XPS foam... now i need to build me a table for cutting it to size XD
@@noquedaniuno Mine only sells huge sheets and my husband keeps deterring me from buying one lol I'd have to break in pieces to get home prob anyway.
@@brieoshiro try to get it on 1/2" and cut it outside the store. You only need to score it then give it wack from the other side and it will snap... cut 4 pieces and bring it home XD
@@brieoshiroI just grabbed a 4' square, marked a line on the foam, and cut it on the floor in the store. they don't care lol
Simply sheer beauty loved seeing again the outfits that I fell in love with, had pull all the videos so my wife would believe me.
I love the dedication to the VHS aesthetic. I had a hard time watching it though. Maybe just the intro next time?
The door is an amazing idea. It looks great and detailed with our without the door(frame). Great work Jeremy.
I love the 80s synth in background. For thatch options, i swear i remember terrain tutor doing it on his burma build series where he bought teddy bear fur and manipulated the fur with pva or mod podge i think.
Yeah. Standard grognard wargaming technique. Back in the day that's what I used for my rohan village. A tip if you did fancy this method is to not cut the fur with scissors but use a knife of the back
I love the roof, it sells it. But can we mention how the music during the building B roll absolutely slaps? Damn
Thanks for another foam build, I have missed them!
Great built again. I like how you turn basic stuff like foam into nice looking terrain pieces.
11:20 this music is only for driving through the rain at night in LA during the 80's.
Took me back for sure, instant smile.
that is cool. This vid felt so classic BMC it coulda had the spooky music at the beginning.
I just love to watch to CRAFT something, Not use a Printer for the Buildings. It MUCH More FUN to see something made BY HAND, Hand MADE! Not from some printer! THANK YOU! This was and IS A GREAT BUILD!!! Gave me some ideas for my own type of Builds.. AWESOME!
I’ve never 3D printed a building
YUP thats my Point!! @@BlackMagicCraftOfficial
Cool house but the foam hat is what made the video special :)
The have some tea mate and beans on toast was an attack on us Brits I see but not all us Brits are the same. Originality and imagination are a thing to admire so don’t class us all the same, I’m certainly not going pick fault. Those who pick fault have sad lives and nothing better to do!
Thank you! Needed this wholesome awesomeness today! Hut turned out AMAZING!!! Loved the thatching!
That thatched roof looks perfect - but inside-out. 🧑🔧
Fantastic video. Thanks so much for taking us through this whole process. Lots of clever tips in here, and damn that’s an elegant way to work in a sponsorship. Respect. ✌🏾➕✊🏾
Awesome idea for the door of the hut! I bet magnets would work pretty well to hold it together better. Either way, cool idea. Cheers neighbour! 🇨🇦
Nice to see you back to crafting scenery Jeremy.
His airbrush control has vastly improved over the last year.
I think it turned out really nice.
Nice! Love seeing an old school type video. The paint job on this hut is really nice!
Not too sure who would knock that roof, you simply did more with less. That roof is legit man, you have gotten me to buy a Proxxon Hot Wire cutter, gets here in 2 days. I have shifted gears to take a break from my regular hobbies and try something different in terrain building. Love your series so far, I found it a few days ago and I am hooked.
Dude you’ve gotten so good it’s crazy. The video quality is gas 🔥
Appreciate it
Love it! The door solution was very clever!
I wonder if you could do something similar and smaller by using the cardboard inner from a roll of packing tape 🤔
Don't even need the foam for this build! You could probably build this out of cardstock or cereal boxes or whatever, without a foam cutter. But it does look amazing. Especially the applied textures.
Almost a trogdor hut. Good attempt. Love the vid and the interesting construction method from larger foam. Keep em coming
gosh I missed these type of videos 🔥
So glad to see another great crafting video from you good sir.
Oh, there are so many good board games out there. Good luck not destroying your bank account balance as you dive into this new hobby!
I remember seeing a video awhile back where someone used the hair off of coconut husks to make thatch. You may want to try that out sometime.
Great vid as always!
Very realistic! I’ve always enjoyed your videos. My friend remarried recently and her husband is seriously into gaming…if I ever build up the courage, I would like to try something like this for them.
Okay… now I really want to see some terrain for the Texas Chainsaw Massacre game! Great vid as always.
The good old wire brush on foam for a thatched roof. So simple, and so effective. Well done man. Wish I’d thought of that before I spent hours cutting, scraping, and unraveling twine 🫠😂
The last time I did a thatch roof I used a metal pet come to unravel the twine in shorter lengths.
Messy, slow, and sore hands are the primary result.
This new tip will be used!
@@MonkeyJedi99 same here on all fronts!
The plaster looks so real!
I loved Stratego!
Turned out Amazing! So many possibilities for this
Here is an idea for a thatched roof - take Crepe paper or maybe something stronger and cut narrow little slits into one side to create a sort of "fringe" and then just wrap around the roof, in several layers. This idea would definitely need some "craft testing" for sure.
My favourite little pieces I made are three thatched huts. I sew, and had some leftover natural fringe trim. I used that as my thatch and it worked great with a bunch of glue. I could have made it fancier but I’m just wanting to make table ready buildings.
Creative, funny, and very nicely done, wonderful work!!
Excellent build! You are a master craftsman.
Love the retro vibe!
Love the foam builds!!! Awesome!!! ❤😊❤
Awesome build! If I may be so audacious as to offer a tip to the community, you can slice through 6" wide foam with a hand held hot wire, there are many with a 7" or wider bow. Tape 2 square dowels to your cutting mat that are the thickness of the desired slice, place the foam piece between them, and cut with the hand-held using the dowels as a jig. Why Proxxon don't make a table with 6.5" clearance instead of 5.5" remains a mystery, the vast majority of their sales are to the maker community.
There have been many a time where I have looked at a thatched roof and thought, "Hey!", or, more appropriately, "Hay!" LOL! (Re: your dialog beginning at Time Index 8:15)
I love the style of the video like watching the old VHS tapes with the random noise you would get as the tape broke down
Sick video
oooo somebodys edit got a glowup! looks great, Jeremy, and a really nice hut too.
so whats next for board-game inspired terrain? you gonna make us some monopoly hotels? haha
This was like bumping into an old friend one hasn’t seen in years.
Thanks Black Magic Craft! Great collaboration!
Good luck with your campaign, Will.
Great desk of oddments too!
awesome!! missed your foam builds like this. Cheers bud!
A good video, gives me some ideas to use on my Troll-kin village. I've been grabbing empty peanut/cashew containers and using the Shifting Lands stone jig to cut foam and wrap around them. I was planning on using the twine and glue method for the thatched roofs but I will try your idea instead. Less burned fingers from hot glue is always a better option.
I have done a thatched roof before, with jute twine, and that was painstaking, It turned out decent, but worse than doing shingles. Love the pant job to the hut. I will have to look into the Board game you mentioned in this video and as always thanks for the video Jeremy.
I don't make models or paint minis anymore. I love watching your videos though! Videos in this format or style are the most enjoyable. Trial and error, leaving the errors or difficulties in the video is great! Keep up the great work!
Hello thanks for the video. This game make me think of the first version of descent with the personalisation of the characters. Seems funny
Thanks for sharing this with us. Looks great.
Amazing man keep up the amazing work, this one’s just like the old ones and I love it! 👍👍
Man, this is such a cool little hut! I really love the playable interior, and the final paint job is *chef's kiss*. No notes, 10/10!
NGL, I wouldn’t mind a full size real life version of this hut! 😂
Awesome build! Thanks for sharing!
You're skills are incredible. As a beginner i'm so impressed ! Just WOW !
Cool build. I've been meaning to build an alchemist hut for my campaign for a while. I will be taking notes.👍
one more amazing build! wow, thanks for this video :) great result!
WOW!!!! just WOW!!! The textures are simply amazing!!!! I LOVE everything about it!!! Thanks for all your tutorials
Cool as always. 👍
Very awesome!
This one came out great!
Looks cool👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Awesome as usual.
I love this!
Welcome back, Jeremy! Love the technique shared in this video!
Awesome work
I made something very similar a few years ago! I used fine copper wire to make the "thatch" for the thatched roof. It was a heck of a lot more work than this method, ha ha. It's so fun seeing a different way of doing it!
In mine I did a swinging front door that opened, and a fireplace that opened as a secret door. I wish I had thought of making the front door as a single removable piece like this, it's very cool!
Good 'ole foam terrain crafting! It was super nice to watch.
Wow, the thatched technique really worked in the end - so cool! Looks amazing
Jeremy, love the build mate! Fantastic video, love the discovery you share with us. Always come back to your vids for inspiration! Cheers!
Looks good bro.
Really awese build, gonna be trying my hand at makong some 3D builds for board games now. Should try out the caulking method for thatched roofs
Love it! Now about that thatch.....
AWESOMENESS! Inspiring as always!
nice art work❤❤
nice classic build, I love it
A BMC fantasy build! ❤❤❤
Very cool idea. I think the thatched roof looks much cooler that way than it would if the beans were inside. It definitely adds a fantasy element to it. Love how you maneuvered the hotwire to suit your needs. Great video.
On top of everything else, your soundtrack choices are also always top notch!
Very nice video and i like the paintwork. Thanks for sharing 😊❤
love the filters and style approach of this video! give it a great personal look
great idea bringing crafting to board games
Ive been itching for a foam house build. This one is great.
Great vid Jeremy! I've gotta get me a Proxxon!
Great vid, love the thatched roof, I tried a different method using twine that was so-so but this looks great!
I wish I had one iota of talent you had. I really love the channel.
That's a great little hut. The plasticard widows are absolutely inspired. I'm so tired of making windows with matchsticks so I will definitely be trying that idea out.
Nice!
