10:34 - Beautiful fish. Yak fishing is amazing. Please spend time training to ingress egress from deep water than you can stand in. Self-rescue is the most important tool you have when seconds count. Caught your bay vs flats talk. Good points. But five boats would be ideal. When I am asked what is the one boat I would want to keep, I always reply the next one I buy. Style and need changes with the targets and area. Nothing is ever enough. Compromise is an essential skill in this game lol. I like comparing my boat history to my carry tackle selections. When I started fishing, I needed a triple deck and stuffed it with everything others said I needed. After fishing a bit, I realized what worked for me and switched to tackle trays set for specific targets. I got lighter and learned to use what I had when out on water. But back at the shop, my case selection would make Bass Pro blush. The point is that the one you use is the most important when you are using it. And when you are tooling for the next targets, options are best when considering your ability to organize for the opportunity. I will never forget my first and best boat ever, polar kraft 14 w 25 rude. That craft went places I never should have taken it. But the simplicity of the ride gave me the confidence as the captain to push to get the most from. In the end, that is the lesson I employ when picking boats and tackle. Keep it simple, keep it safe, keep it fishing. Whatever that looks like is the best boat for me. I'm curious since you started yak fishing, do you feel drawn to kayak more? I find it caused me to really learn how to work smaller areas and perfect my techniques of locating fish. I don't use electronics, but I can almost smell the fish now lol. Thanks for the content.
Nice !!! Welcome to kayak fishing and welcome to Bonafide family!!! I do fishing in swfl with a ss127 and I love it . I’ll recommend it to get a anchor trolley and a Yakattack rod holder for the front part of the kayak, but otherwise nice set up !!! Tight lines!!!
What do you recommend for tossing artificials? 7’ or 7’6? I like the added length for casting but I find it less fatiguing and easier to work lures with a 7 ft
Welcome to the kayak world! I would love to see you do a video sometime on your process for deciding which kayak to purchase and some of the others you were considering.
I would highly suggest the Berley Pro steering upgrade. It looks like the same steering system as the Natives (Bonafide and Native are the same company now). When you are a couple miles away from the ramp and the rudder cable breaks is incredibly annoying. It will improve turning radius too. Might also want to get the seat risers, makes standing up much easier. Happy to see you in a plastic boat.

I really prefer a 7 foot light or medium light depending on the baits I am throwing.
Dude you are killing it with the videos and everything ! Good stuff man. And I’m jealous of that shop/bay lol
Nice! My bro-in-law down in St. Augustine has one and loves it. Stable for a big guy.
Nice barn, JB. Jelly, for sure. 👊🏼

Nice!! What size shop is that? I’m fixing to purchase a new building. Looking at different sizes.

Nice rig... Welcome to the plastic Navy
Nice rig! Bring it to Greenville and let’s catch some Shad and Bass!
Love Kayak fishing in ENC. Looking forward to these videos. How are you mounting your transducer in your Yak?
