Amazon DA here, on my way back from Springfield I hopped on I90 and saw this, luckily I was going back to Erie so I missed all the traffic but it was heart breaking seeing all those vehicles in the median and so many people just stranded in the snow in there cars. Stay safe yall 🙏🏽
I once encountered this unexpectedly in early November while heading home to New England. I immediately pulled off at the next exit and stayed at the first hotel I could find. It can flare up in an instant.
I used to live in Western New York- now in Eastern Maryland- people ask me all the time, what am I afraid of, I should be used to this? My response is yeah, I am- that is why I stay off the roads
Prayers up for those truckers trying to get goods transported. 🙏 Cleveland, Ohio residents tell travelers NOT TO GO EAST on 90 during the winter unless they want to spend a few days in beautiful Erie .. ( worked at the Cle airport)
Im a truck driver as well... my question to the other drivers... what in the af are you doing driving in this.. ??? You should be parked .. no excuse for any of it
We had as much or more snow in Ontario's highway 11 between Orillia and Huntsville, no accidents because we slow down under these conditions and snow tires help too
Ratio of smart to dumb people are still the same, there’s just more people on this planet now. Plus we are a society of smart phone users, so information about dumb things gets to everyone instantly.
5 FEET OF SNOW & MORE -2024** Over the heads of all I meet Falls winter's life giving snow. Upon the rooftops and the streets Filling the sky and earth below. Dancing, swirling, skimming along, Like the snows of yesteryears. There's lots of ice on the windows As my lashes freeze over with tears. It's so cold; it's too cold to snow Yet the snow continues to fall. The land is covered blanket white As the winter winds wail their call. There's a red-hot fire awaiting me That will thaw out my every part. It's not the glow of a fireplace But the love that dwells in my heart. By Tom Zart
Lake Erie really went all out this time, but not in a way anyone hoped for. Wishing everyone a speedy recovery from the storm and hoping all the vehicles get back to driving straight instead of stacking up. Stay safe, Erie County!
The melted snow will freeze and creates spots of so called black ice, only when you drive slow and not hit the brakes you can drive/slide straight over it. But because drivers in front of you suddenly hit the brakes you can do nothing but slide as your brakes abs is trying to help you but you are not stopping because it is too slippery and you (and almost all i can see ) drive too fast to do anything. So adapt your speed and leave a big gap in front of you and try not to hit the brakes and stay focussed. With a white out snow best find a parking spot cause you will not see what happens in front of you.
I've been a commercial driver for going on 40 years. The best place to be when this inclement weather is going on is parked! No load that I transport is worth getting into an accident or being stuck.
@@tabbott429 see, we were doing just fine making fun of the hick then you had to go say something silly. Dude was right. Stuck overnight in a blizzard is not the time or place for an EV.
Thats a lot of trucks. Ive never seen a highway with so many trucks and so few cars. Truck drivers should know how to drive as they actually do it for a living. Probably going to fast playing on their phones and get caught off guard. they shouldnt be so out of control to jackknife and block the entire road for everyone else to suffer.
Not the fedex trucks. Now I know my delivery ain't coming in on time. Oh, and I pray the people stuck on that expressway get out of that situation as soon as possible.
With all those cars and trucks at a standstill surely the batteries run flat having the lights on? We don't experience storms like that in New Zealand. Cheers.
Trucking companies all over the USA have been going bankrupt one after another because their drivers are too dumb to slow down and increase following distance in fog, rain and snow. And the trucking companies' management places too much pressure on the drivers to rush, rush, rush rather than on safety.
Where y'all thinking when driving in this weather? A garbage truck too? When will you all ever learn? Only snow ploughs and emergency personnel with studded 4x4 should be out there. Glad I'm watching this at home.
Many of these trucks are transporting goods that we all need. Not referring to your comment, but everyone is saying to stay off the road, yet, go into a business and alot of shelves are pretty empty and people are complaining to staff that they need to order more items lol.
Damn wrecks after pileups I watched one where a woman hung onto her sliding car ON A HIGHWAY AND IF GUY DIDNT GRAB HER WHEN HE DID ( A HUGE DUMPTRUCK BARRELED WHERE SHE STOOD AND CRUSHED EVERYTHING IN ITS PATH.. PEOPLE ARE BRAINLESS!!! ANYONE WITH ANY SENSE GETS AWAY FROM PILEUPS. F THE CAR
No, no, no, no, no. Everyone who knows how to drive in ice and snow also knows damn well that it wasn't "Lake Effect Squall..." that causes multivehicle pileups. It's stupid drivers.
This is a prime example of why more people need to get more prepared and think about "Emergency Preparedness Management" for both your home and vehicles. people keep faulting the truckers and bosses.. but you notice near the front is a big white truck in a ditch. Wouldn't be surprised if that was the person who lost it and the rest were trying to avoid. There are a lot of passenger cars in that line i guess they're bad people too.

Heavy snowstorm:
Schools: "we're closed so stay home".
Kids: Yay.
Truckers: I'm gonna power through!
Nature: No, you're not.
Terrible for those truck drivers. Praying 🙏
Great footage. Tough going
I used to live in Western New York- now in Eastern Maryland- people ask me all the time, what am I afraid of, I should be used to this? My response is yeah, I am- that is why I stay off the roads
The issue is too many people think it won't happen to me and it's too late when it does.
You sure do a fantastic job with the real time film footage.thank you.
I see a bunch of truckers that were told they had no choice by a boss or a bank account.
That sounds like a fair assessment.
For some reason there's almost always a FedEx truck in the middle of all this.
Because they seem to look out for their employees unlike a lot of these back room greedy trucking companies !
They run them! FX.
FedEx is 2nd in size only to UPS, so lots of their trucks on the road at any given time.
There absolutely positively has to be one involved!
Jesus please be safe all of you out there.
Wow. Thank you for showing this! I've been stuck downtown at home so it's hard to tell what everywhere else around town is like rn.
guys for one more winter season you are uploading great videos! thnks!!

This happens on 90. In the winter of 77 we had a big storm and the Mayor called for people with snowmobiles to rescue everyone.
Im a truck driver as well... my question to the other drivers... what in the af are you doing driving in this.. ??? You should be parked .. no excuse for any of it
i agree GG, but the boss said drive thru.
💯
Bosses, managers, dispatchers don't ask...
Most company's don't care and will send their driver's through it anyway.

Sometimes you want to think, "Are people getting dumber?" Perhaps it's just always been this way.
Yes, it's the great "dumbing down." 😞

People are getting dumber

Snow/ice and ego are the mortal enemies of 4WD.
What a nightmare...Glad that lake effect don't make it down here to philly...Must be horrible to be stuck in crap like that...
Images are humbling. Pls be careful everyone. Don't put yourselves in harms way to get the video footage.
What is this, the 6th day of this snowstorm?
Always have food, water, supplies! candles! have a hand radio!
Lake Erie really went all out this time, but not in a way anyone hoped for. Wishing everyone a speedy recovery from the storm and hoping all the vehicles get back to driving straight instead of stacking up. Stay safe, Erie County!
They Didn't Slow down 😢😮😅
Never can understand why they cannot ever slow down. They have to go posted speed in no matter what condition....
I just wish people would slow down when the weather turns.
which day was this filmed?
Today
For Pete's sake use I-80 NOT I-90 !!
What do you think the percentage of those driving cars could have stayed off the roads but chose to drive anyway?
What percentage do you think were essential workers? Especially hospital workers!
@@ew4932exactly. And what percentage of those are mandated to show up for work no matter where they work.

Forget headlights being turned on in a whiteout. Use your hazards instead. Flashing lights are we easier to see than a solid light.
I'm in the Northeast; we got snow in the forecast for tomorrow night. Then rain for next Tuesday.
It took man 40,000 years to reach this level of incompetence.
Ever since they invented the wheel things have been going downhill. It's no wonder "brain rot" has been named the word or phrase of the year for 2024.

Still??? Day 6!
Imagine being in an EV watching the heating deplete the charge 😳🤡
If you own an EV you are probably smart enough to not be out there. Calling people "clown" is soooo overused. Move on to the next thing, please.
Imagine paying for gas LOL
Imagine being so ignorant that you dont know how efficient EV heat pumps are.
@@tabbott429 see, we were doing just fine making fun of the hick then you had to go say something silly. Dude was right. Stuck overnight in a blizzard is not the time or place for an EV.
@@gmc182 I have a PHEV. I may get 100mpg but the money saving between gas and the electric portion just isn't worth the premium.
The number 1 rule is slow down, you drive as fast as the condition allows. This storm has been a multi-day nightmare.
No ones going anywhere for a long time! 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
People better stay home
how awful! hope everyone was ok. speed limit should only be 40 mph in this much snow
What a nightmare!
Gotta slow down in bad weather folks.
They just can't get a break there in Erie.
Words almost fail. Thia happens every time there is a bad snow storm.
Wow!! What a mess...😢
Why I won't drive on 90 in the snow. Say a prayer for the tow truck drivers. They have been working non stop since november29
Not the fedex trucks. Now I know my delivery ain't coming in on time. Oh, and I pray the people stuck on that expressway get out of that situation as soon as possible.
STAY AT HOME!😮
What time did this take place?
Yep WB .................. SCAREY VIDEO ........ but nice Job ........................ Stay Safe out There On The Big Road
Here’s a Novel Idea…. FREAKING SLOW DOWN and REAL TRUCKERS DON’T WEAR FLIP FLOPS !!!
This is what I saw on video !!!
With all those cars and trucks at a standstill surely the batteries run flat having the lights on? We don't experience storms like that in New Zealand. Cheers.

And the trucking companies' management places too much pressure on the drivers to rush, rush, rush rather than on safety.
It just doesn't seem to be part of psyche of some people to accept that driving conditions are bad enough to require a stop until matters improve.
Where y'all thinking when driving in this weather? A garbage truck too? When will you all ever learn? Only snow ploughs and emergency personnel with studded 4x4 should be out there. Glad I'm watching this at home.
Well, there goes the supply chain! What a terrible mess. And they will be sleeping in their trucks tonight! I hope no one was hurt.
They were off the road within a hour ... why lie ?
I 90 again?
The truckers wouldn't stay out of the left lane today, just cruising along causing traffic to be backed up and such.
Most areas that get a lot of snow REQUIRE winter tires but this is NY and they have Kathy hocul so enough said 😂😂😂😂
That was a stretch.
You need a Volunteer of people with sniffer dogs to check out these trucks who are just in a rush to get where they need to?
“Drive to the conditions” yeh but the conditions were MAD 😂
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Merry crashmas ho oh no
That's nothing should see near Watertown
😮Dang!!
Looks like movie The Day After Tomorrow.
why did they travel? enjoy the weather?

Snow is a four letter word 😂
Today truck drivers are not like yesterday's truck drivers. Have y'all seen who they give CDL's to?
No, no, no, no, no. Everyone who knows how to drive in ice and snow also knows damn well that it wasn't "Lake Effect Squall..." that causes multivehicle pileups. It's stupid drivers.
WestBound ???????
Commercial vehicles limited to 45 mph yeah like that would ever happen
How dumb can you be to even try to push a rig through this mess?

To fast and to close, as always,
why are they all white trucks???
stay home
