Think the closest I saw was star trek 6 with the original crew signing off. It was touching just like this was. I like that Richard Dean Anderson personally thanked the audience as himself. Gives it that personal touch.
It's sweet, but I wouldn't want every series doing it. It would get very cheesy, and imagine the ones that were cancelled too early... "Hi, this is Nathan Fillion. On behalf of everyone at Firefly, I'd like to say 'this is some bullshit'. Bye."
For me, the most emotional moment in television history. No speeches, no nonsense, no claims. Just "thanking the audience for seven great seasons." Goosebumps.

Guys, don't be sad, after this MacGyver joined the United States government and used an ancient alien device called the Stargate to explore the galaxy and defend the world against alien threats.
The hug was heartbreaking, because it wasn't just the last hug between MacGyver and Pete, but it was the last hug between Richard Dean Anderson and Dana Elcar as well. And you could see it in their face as well, that it wasn't just for show. It really made me cry.

Still remember that particular night. I was 10years old. I cried my heart out that night. Next day at school we were all sad.... Love you macgyver 💚💚 for giving me a happy childhood.
i watched every single episode of macgyver too. macgyver touched me on mental and spritual level. with him being the humanitarian that he is. it always made me feel good looking up to him. i had many of my family members die including my dad. But one episode that piqued my interest in particular was passages where macgyvers grandfather dies. it also made me feel that of my grandfather when he died i cried for that moment realizing how much i missed him and all the memories he brought me.
The episode is called "Passages" and for me it was also emotionally and spiritually strong because I was doing mourning for the death of my grandmother and it was my 15 years. It is one of the episodes that I love the most.
Richard Dean Anderson. I have so much respect for u sir. U are always be our Mac Gyver, our hero. I grew up watching Mac Gyver and I can honestly say that it is the best show ever. Best memory of my life. You played the character so well. Just to remind u that u are love by so many around the world. God bless u!!!!
Ethan Robison (& Meg), did you know Dana Elcar went blind on the show. The producers went above and beyond to help him transition. During the last season he was totally blind. I recall an episode of ET where they showed how they methodically led him through scenes with tape, props, etc. Dana Elcar was worth it. A fine actor.

I grew up with this show, too. The last season was released two years before I was born, but I've still seen almost every episode. I remember that for 5 years I watched this every day after school. I hope that one day when I get kids, they'll want to watch it, too. MacGyver was my childhood hero the way Indiana Jones was other kids'. I'll never forget him. Thank YOU for all the memories, too :)
Always brings me back to my childhood. Never killed anyone just incapacitated the enemy I wish the future was the same. His most powerful weapon was his mind. Long live this fantastic show.
If RDA never left Macgyver we wouldn't have his wonderful portrayal of Jack O'niell. So really, this was a blessing in disguise. Also, a fantastic and heartwarming ending to an amazing show.
I never really got into the show but that was one touching and great ending to a series. I have no idea why it came up on my feed but I'm glad to have seen it.
I remember watching "MacGyver's" final scene when it was fresh... I was five years old at the time and a HUGE fan of the show. When he and his son drove away on their motorcycles, all I could manage was a tearful "Goodbye, MacGyver..." while waving... Then, once it was all over, I just lost it... :.-(

This ending was deep, especially when he thanked the audience, all series should do something like this to their finale.

@Samson 92 ya and it is a stupid joke.
2019 here... Nostalgia, I grew up watching this, such an awesome and irreplaceable show... Thank you for showing this clip I dunno how did I end up here... They don't do series like this anymore just a bunch senseless reality TV.
I'm watching this scene, as a 53 years old, and it gives me chills.
"So uh...where to?"
"Hmm. I've got a cabin in the mountains that has a nice pond out back. We could fish, have a few cold ones, talk about movies we've seen at least a dozen times."
"Oh! I love fish!"
"Then we'll have to pick some up at the supermarket to grill."
"There's no fish in that pond, is there?"
"No?"
As a viewer I felt appreciated when I saw this last part of the series. Not many American series have a real ending, let alone thank their audience.
Hope he's being paid well for all the reruns, this show will be on forever.
I remember this when it ended and i was so sad. It was such an amazing show. It showed me nothing is impossible. All about how bad you want it
that is so emotional. I remember still. Missing Macgyver. Missing 90's era
Mohammad Hoque you mean the 80's?
my childhood memories, the one and only.
I watched most of the show as a kid...one of my favs of all time...you can even learn actually tricks in life by watching too.
Thank you too Macgyver you are one of the inspirations of my life. Being resourceful and getting things done using with whatever you have at your disposal.
Seriously, when Richard Dean Anderson's voice come in the end, i get goosebumbs. Fantastic actor, fantastic show, and seven fantastic seasons.
Now this was MacGyver. Not the junk on today...
not everything is junk
Still remember that particular night. I was 10years old. I cried my heart out that night. Next day at school we were all sad....
Love you macgyver 💚💚 for giving me a happy childhood.
Oh wow, an 80’s/ 90’s show with actual closure and a solid ending: no cliffhanger! 😀
i watched every single episode of macgyver too. macgyver touched me on mental and spritual level. with him being the humanitarian that he is. it always made me feel good looking up to him. i had many of my family members die including my dad.
Great comment!
Dont you ever change MacGyver
He won't beacause he lives in our memories.
Dana Elcar was suffering an eye disease, and the producers even worked that into his character. Truly awesome
You know how many things I MacGyvered in life. I owe him everything
Ditto
Reminds me of saying bye to my pops. Rest in peace.
The last episode should have been a final showdown with Murdoc.
That would have been awesome. I feel like he was a bit waisted in his final episode
@@ATOK_ They knew this was the last season and they left the Murdoch storyline unsettled not smart
The one and only MacGyver! ❤️
I give a salute to Richard Dean Anderson, Dana Elcar, Bruce McGill, ad the rest of the Macgyver crew for 7 awesome seasons.
"Thanks for the memories." And now a shameless remake will ruin it.
meg nope the REMAKE is in my opinion not macgyver but something unique . Nothing can replace macgyver
You said it. Merry Christmas.
It's Episodes are to how
Yeah with a young dumb dip shit. Can't stand that punk.
brought back childhood memories. loved this show
i love you MacGyver u r my childhood hero
I’m not going to lie here; I grew up years after MacGyver ended, but I grew up with the reruns, and this is legitimately making me cry
I grew up with this show, i'm 35 now, remember seing this show wth my grandpa, well he past away yrs ago, so as numbers of my relatives n friends, this show bring back old memories, 2 bad my kids grow up wth shows like "meet the kardashians"
Mac-"things changed"
Pete-"not always, gud ones dont"
U got that right pete, it'll always be there, thanks 4 the momories
how classy for Richard to thank the audience. Bravo, man, bravo....
i was lucky that i grew up in the 80s with shows like this one. My faves are Macgyver of course, Miami Vice, Moonlighting and Simon and Simon. Was a great decade for TV back then. They just dont make them like this anymore.
Thank u, for all the good memories richard :))
this show made me appreciate sciene at a very young age...7 seasons flew fast.. never thought this series would end then.. but Thank God for internet, i can watch it over and over again... Thank you to the creators, actors and staff for a very very good show...❤️❤️❤️❤️
I'm from Spain and here we love MacGyver too.
Onions damn these onions! :(
Always brings me back to my childhood.
This for me is the first ever tv show i've seen were the lead actor thanks the audience for 7 great seasons. How cool is that. I watched MacGyver when i was a kid. Awesome show!!
l Loved MacGyver and the ending was Really Touching From Richard Dean Anderson.
Most emotional moment,,,missing you much MacGyver
There's never gonna be something like this again bye guys
You said it. I saw the new MacGyver, and kept myself from throwing something at the television set.
Until this day, in Indonesia, people at 40-70, still called "Pisau Mac Gyver" (Mac Gyver knife) the Swiss army knife.
He is my hero when i was teen. He is very popular in my country on teh late 90's. Now I am 52.
I never saw the last series of MacGyver but in it apparently we found out what his first name was - Angus ;).
