Then we get to the upbeat positive part which sorta describes the happy and active nature of A. I haven't watched Season 7 of MacGyver yet (I'm in Season 5 now), but seeing the Season 7 intro made me say "That's the end of a legendary era in television history." This show is an unforgettable masterpiece. Richard Dean Anderson and Dana Elcar were perfection when they were cast as Mac and Pete respectively.
I remember watching MacGyver on WGN after the late-evening news and before In The Heat of the Night. MacGyver always comes up with ways to troubleshoot problems and get himself out of a predicament.
The subtle changes have fascinated me for so long. For example different peeking, pointing at the map, the snake, eating ice cream in front of traffic lights or clock.
4:24 I remember that. While I do remember the older openings, this one particularly got "stuck" in my brain. And I do remember Dana Elacar scene where he gets out of a Škoda 742 sedan (Škoda 105/120/Estelle model) in a particular scene.
One of the best - possibly THE best - TV intro scores in the history of ever. Could hear it on loop for hours! That red/blue dead-eye shot from the later openings gave me nightmares as a kid. Any reason why the 3rd season opening (from 2:24) was super short?
I find it interesting that in season 5, they re-recorded some of the shots show in season 1 and 2, like him against the wood door, and just making it out of the gate. Even him resting against the plane.

I LOVED MacGyver, but after a certain point, he went from CIA MacGyver to civilian MacGyver. The first few seasons were the best, then that last few seasons it felt like they were just running out of material =\
for me the first is the best ! but I noticed from saison 2 and the others, in second half of the music like in 2:00 the violin is more louder and it gives better feeling with the music !
You've missed some out. Off the top of my head there is the opening from "The Pilot". MacGyver is overlaid on the exploding labratory. There is also a different opening to "The Pilot". Here, you get to see the whole parachute jump. "Lost Love" parts 1 & 2 music is a bit more classical. "The Secret Of The Parker House" includes a clip from "Hell Week" with the trigger sprays to see if there is a lazer beam. It also include a longer version of of the scene from "Back From The Dead" where Mac drops holding onto a net and then knocks over someone. You also have a more funky short version of the theme on the episode "The Challengers"
Original Macgyver = One Man Army, Masculine Qualities of Determination, independence and self Reliance. Remake MacGyver = DEI diversity patrol Collectivism is the key to success! one lasted 7 seasons and is still beloved today the other struggled for 2 until an unnoticed cancellation.

Interesting how the drums get bigger in the later versions, and how they reshot some of the older iconic clips with modern MacGyver for season 5+.
Not only the drums.... the intros of the later sessions have much less synthesizer sounds in there, it's more orchestral.
