Funny how people will say he's aged poorly when comparing him to other actors who have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on plastic surgery. Richard Dean Anderson looks exactly like what a man in his 70's is supposed to look like. In my opinion it's the ones that have had way too much plastic surgery that have aged poorly and a lot of them are 5-10 years younger than RDA.
Nothing wrong with the way Richard Deen Anderson looks. His series were hard to physical labor. He gave us some great entertainment. I hope he is enjoying his retirement!❤

Anyone making those rude and thoughtless comments about him obviously has no understanding of just how bad illness can affect a person. Aging is difficult enough. Add severe illness and pain, and it really changes a person dramatically. Compassion is called for here.
Richard Dean Anderson got the roll of Macgyver because the producers loved how he had no ego and didn't give a damn what people thought of him. He's in his 70's now. He still doesn't give a damn 😎
if you grew-up in the 80's you KNOW about the MacGyver T.v series. ONE thing I LOVE about MacGyver. he used his MIND to get himself out of a jam. NOT violence. very, very rare case did he use violence/he always used his Mind.

I am a Stargate fan and former Military, Rick has provided us with more entertainment than I can count... My youngest daughter is almost 25 and when she was young she spent an entire summer watching my collection of Stargate and became an instant fan.. People should not speak of things they do not understand. The man is retired and he is living the life that he wants support him for what he has done and support him for what he has done for the organizations that he has supported I respect a guy.
He looks just fine…Jesus, he’s 73. Not everyone feels it necessary to surgically alter their appearance or “battle” aging. He’s comfortable in his own skin. - a gift to anyone at any age.
This is why so many stars disappear to begin with. Here is a man that was genuinely talented and genuinely a good hearted person. Probably believes in God as well. And, has MS. I grew up watching Richard Dean Anderson and the show that really touched my soul was Macgyver and because of that show I made it thru a really tough time in my life and he basically saved my life in a lot of ways

He’s 73. He’s not going to look like Jack O’Neill anymore. He’s had health problems, and was taking steroids for a time.
That gave his face that puffy look. But I’ve seen him in the last year and he looks great.
As long as he’s healthy and feels good that’s allI want for him.

I am 72 and he is enjoying life and I have watched him grow up and for being in the movie business as long as he has he doesn't look that bad. I have seen a lot worse at his age and he is still enjoying life.
Had always a crush on him. Now i know, he has a good heart. He is a very kind man. He makes this rotten world a better place!!!
Some MS medications cause weight gain and bloating. His appearance shouldn't affect how a fan treats him. Christina Applegate found out she had multiple sclerosis and started treatment towards the end of her last TV show 'Dead to Me' and her medication caused weight gain and fans were quick to turn on her as well. So just remember that some of what you see can be a result of the life saving medication that they are taking.
"Time has not been kind to him"? Well, yeah. He got older, as ALL of us do. He's 73 and he looks just fine to me.

It is ridiculous that fans expect a 70 year old to not look his age. Richard is a senior, and he looks his age. I blame all the female actors who have had so much plastic surgery so when they are 70, they look like late 40s or early 50s. Nothing wrong with aging naturally. He looks his age.
He'll always be remembered as "Mac" to me, but I absolutely loved his portrayal of "Jack O'Neill" in the SG1 the best...
To this day I still say "Oh, for crying out loud".... Lol 😂

I think Richard Dean Anderson has done pretty well for himself and looks good, healthy, and fulfilled. We're all aging and don't look like we looked 20-40 years ago... so what? I still watch MacGyver streaming. The first 5 seasons did not have one bad episode.

@@FactsVerse The one where Mac had to train Pete to keep his field license. Pete had to pass a physical multi week course. Mac made some cool obstacle courses that Pete obviously had a hard time to finish. At the end end, Pete saved Macs life and passed the course!
Although I can't prove it, Rick did have some cosmetic surgery in the last 2-4 years as I saw an interview with him when he had grabbed the loose skin under his chin and said "WTF is with this?"
The next time I saw him on camera, he had no such loose skin under his chin.
Rick and I are the same age and I do have that loose skin under my chin, but I don't have the money, or ego to go have a face lift, and frankly I'm surprised he even did that.
But YES, he most certainly did have a face lift, although I can't prove it. A great actor and good person.
I did have the privilege to actually meet and chat with Rick on the set of MacGyver back in the 80s, although he would not remember me. Two young girls wanted his autograph and approached me while I was wearing a Swiss Army uniform/costume as I played a Swiss Cop for that episode.
They asked me about the autograph, and what I knew about Rick was that he would likely have no problem doing that as he was NOT a premadona or a deva.
So I walked right up to him and motioned to the two young girls on the other side of a fence, asking him if he would grant them an autograph. He just said "sure". After that, we chatted a bit. A really nice guy back then and still is.
"Hi Rick, I always enjoyed your performances" although he'll most likely never see this comment. (grins)

Richard Dean Anderson was and still is a phenomenal actor he proved that in the last 30 years in his career. Life is always about changes no matter how old we get no matter how our health is, or how we look physically it is a part of a change in life as well as many things around us. As far as I'm concerned Richard Dean Anderson looks good for his age. No matter what we all feel and say about life life is all about change no matter how we look physically mentally and spiritually. That is just the facts of life. Thank you Richard for all the things you did in life for over 40 years in show business you have made a great career and you have touched many lives as well thank you for the memories I've enjoyed watching you over the years and you have made a big difference in my life may God bless you. I loved watching MacGyver and Stargate SG-1 back in the 90s as a kid 🙂. MacGyver was a big thing on tv and i enjoyed the show so much and Richard Dean Anderson 🙂. I have all the seasons on DVD 📀.

Was always a McGyver fan. I always did things similar to that character, so I immediately identified with him. "Whatever works!" Was unaware that Mr. Anderson was such a stand-up guy. In my opinion though, he has aged dramatically due to being on the series MacGyver and how he looks now is living proof of that, but he still looks good for his age and he's living a low key life so good for him.
Never cared about Macgyver but he was fantastic on Stargate SG-1 as I watched every episode twice.

Men don’t usually keep up the whole beauty routine as they age. A bit of hair dye and some stage make up and Richard Dean Anderson would look almost as amazing as he did 30 years ago.

MacGyver is the best action show EVER! The original is FAR better than the reboot.
Funny, I've been watching a couple episodes of MacGyver daily for the past week... I hit a nostalgia moment and watched Scooby Doo meets the boo brothers, inspector gadget, naked gun and ended up on Mac... It's actually ok right now which always gives me that vibe like is it coincidence or something else...
