I appreciate the video, but it didn't fix my problem as hoped. My produce drawer light is out and I can't get to the connector tab to put in the new light. I replaced the LED Control Board per this video, and no change there, but at least I can check that off the troubleshooting. Be on the lookout for control boards with lower brightness (as mine was, but I'm returning it).
For the one without the tabs, slide a small screwdriver under the very front after you have removed the screw. Pry it down around the front and the whole thing will come down.
I disconnected and reconnected wires at the module and door switch and the problem was gone for a few days. Then I removed the door switch from its holder and let it say on all the time. The LEDs couldn't take much energy and they don't put out any heat and are also cooled by the fridge so I think it's safe and better than spending hundreds of dollars for the module replacement. I may revisit the possible contact connection issue at a latter date and maybe use some conductive grease but for a quick fix this will do for now.

my hubby just cleaned the connectors with contact cleaner. He's my hero...now after 2 days, we can move on to other things....hope this lasts... #WHIRLPOOLREALLYWECANDOBETTER
These LED light modules for modern-day refrigerators are just one big racket...why is this unit failing just after the warranty expires...especially when one doesn't use the refrigerator much?

that's the way they design them. I live near Whirlpools world headquarters, so their employees are my neighbors. They tell the engineers to design everything to fail, just after the warranty. Most companies are doing this these days though, no big news flash.
@@mattfinnigan8414 Same here. No tabs. No seams. Looks like one piece but don't see any mounting screws and don't see a replacement module on line. Purchased only 22 months ago. If I push on the 8th dim LED bulb in hard, all of the lights come on, but it's temporary and the lights usually doesn't come on when the door is opened a few minutes later. Did you guys get a response?
So, the confusion when ordering my LED module is that the parts place shows the hardware surrounding the light panel gets replaced? This wouldn't be the case, I hope. I would think that the job would take no more than 10 minutes and no need to call my technician as he charges $100. Tell me what I'm spending, $66 is for just the light panel with the dozen or so led lights attached?
Anyone else notice the flicker when he plugged the new module in. The video never showed this fixed the issue. I would have liked to have seen the door switches activated again at the end.

This Whirlpool is just out of warranty and the lights have gone out. This thing is junk. I still have my Canadian made Whirlpool in the garage and it still works great. I will never buy another American/China made appliance again.
THANK YOU! This is exactly what is happening with my unit - Now just gotta buy a new control panel!
TRY JUST RECONNECTING WIRES --IT WORKED FOR ME! APPARENTLY SOME RESIDUE GETS BUILT UP ON CONTACTS...MOVING WIRES OFF AND ON WILL RE-MAKE GOOD CONTACT!

On mines it was very dim with one led bulb out, i pushed up on it and it came back on, what a scam these modules are so expensive.

Do we need to Power Off the Fridge before replacement? Thanks

Thank you so much for this video!
Mine is similar to this fridge in video but my lights don’t have the tabs, it looks like a whole piece. Any help would be great
Same -- no tabs. I got the cover off but can't get the light module out because there aren't tabs. It's basically the same Whirlpool

Did yall figure it out i have the same problem no tabs
What model do you have? I have Whirlpool WRX735SDHZ02 and there are no tabs as shown, and I need to replace the light.
Same here, any help??
I've already changed the LED top light 3 times in 4 years and a new one doesn't last long. any idea why they're not lasting long?
Already did this. Lights still flicker!

Need part number of the led light module used in the video. What is it?
Look at Fridge inside for the model no. Pl search on Google for the Lights Part no. Or go to manufacturer's website to look for part no.

I think the initial power draw on a new product makes it flicker, not an issue.
thank you
What tabs?
Mine doesn't even have screws, it's in there good. I hate this thing
