It's such a great DLC. Where the story in 2 felt lacking in a lot of areas, Minerva's Den more than made up for it, despite its relative simplicity. The writing and voice acting more than sells Porter's character, and it's nice that Tenenbaum gets some finality to her as well, given how short her appearance in 2 was. Not saying that everyone has these kinds of problems with the game but a lot of people do (especially with the remastered version) which is sad cuz this definitly was a worthy sequel to the first game.
Cause it is. Don't get me wrong i like the 1st bioshock like anyone else but i feel like its only good that one time around. Maybe even 2nd time. The thing that keeps it up is that story but once you know it it kinda sinks. The gameplay is good but not great due to little variety & balancing issues in late game. The challenge rooms are a nice touch but not enough. 2 takes all of that and amps it up to 20, you can argue the story isnt good as 1 but it doesn't have to be. In fact it does the rapture story better id say with great added lore & an interesting take of individualism vs collectivism. In short, Bioshock 2 is good because its not trying to be bioshock 1, its good at being rapture.
Minerva's Den was honestly one of my best Bioshock experiences. I ended up playing it just after the base game and liked it more than Bioshock 2 itself.

It's a classic series, weirdly I've got into the habit of having a special Yankee Candle for every game - BioShock is my first ever candle - Pink Dragon Fruit. Even now, the scent hits me like a truck and immediately takes me back to Rapture. If anyone else wants to add to their gaming experience, it's strangely effective for putting you in a wonderful mindset for a game (along with coloured led strips etc).
@@Blue_Sonnet Dude that sounds like a badass way to associate smells with memories. That sounds like some Bioshock villian's experiment haha. Thank you for that idea though, my memory is terrible but if I associate something with an event then I can actually remember it better. @@alanwatson2287 Yeah, I read that memory and smell is strongly linked, I think everyone has had a moment where a scent just took them back to a particular moment without thinking about it. So I've had fun playing around with it - Sicilian Lemon for AC2, Water Garden for FFXV, Cherry Blossom for Persona 5 - its been quite a blast 😁 Although I wanted a forest-type scent for Horizon I couldn't really locate anything I liked - it's ended up with a tropical fruit one instead! Just created some manual scenes for my LEDs, I think I'm starting with Horizon since the reds and greens are so strong in the game... P5 and Nier Automata are white, black and red so those are hard to do, but BioShock can have all these rippling blues and greens, so that's gonna be interesting! Gaming is so involving & fun that is nice to take it outside the literal box, if that makes sense?

I've said it from day one and I'll always love you for this. You are always so good about keeping the story intact and serious. You treat the story how it is supposed to be treated (when it's a good one) and I appreciate it so much. I had to hug my hubby for a while after the end of this video, but I just adore that you are so sincere in your playthroughs like saving the little girls and being a good person. I know to other people they are just characters and blah blah blah. But I think that taking it seriously and making a real-world decision about treating them like real little girls and the desire to save rather than abuse says a lot about a person and you have always seemed like a wonderful person to me.
Just started this, working my way through all the games for the very first time. Just finished one & two and was about to do 3 when I saw this and realised I had forgot about the dlc so thanks for that.

i've played this and i am very offended that you would just assume that i di.... wait this isn't twitter..
I will never get enough of how goddamn cool and entertaining is the editing on Indeimaus videos
Had my brother play Minerva’s Den and the ending took him by surprise. IMO better than the base game of Bioshock 2 :)
I am so glad I caught this gameplay of yours. I would never have even gotten close to finishing this dlc. I loved bioshock and every time I tried to get Minerva’s den started I would quickly get bored or disinterested . Never made it far.
Because you asked: "Big Sister immune to gravity well"
Say if you need more written down, I got time.
Minerva's Den might have been one of if not the best piece of Bioshock media to grace this earth
1:58 gotta love the wolfenstein music
What track is it

Did someone make an onion chopping factory because I am SOBBING AT THAT ENDING
that ending genuinely caught me off guard wow
Just played this after finishing Falcon and Winter Soldier - had no idea Carl Lumbly acted both Isaiah Bradley and C.M. Porter
the voice for porter is agent 47 if you didnt know already at least that who it sounds like to me
It's actually Carl Lumbly. He also played the male Witch Doctor in Diablo 3.
@@earthnugs Yeah it's not the same voice actor but they have the same kind of baritone voice, I'm playing Hitman 2 right now actually and these two voices are super similar.
@@earthnugs I didnt look it up just going by ear so I was bound to be wring
Good prediction Indeimaus. I did not predict it and the reveal honest to god made me cry. Can an AI love? This game made me ponder that question like I have No Mouth And Must Scream made me wonder if Ais could hate. And no Skynet does not hate us, merely calculated it was optimal to remove humanity to protect itself.
OOOHHH! I get it!
Reed Wahl is “Read Wall” !
Man I’ve been having a few rough weeks so just knowing my underrated UA-cam is releasing more content for me to enjoy while eating snacks makes this week all the more worthwhile thanks Indiemaus 💯
I played this as a teenager. I remember it being sad but damn.
Minerva's Den
Mooncrash
Opposing force
The old blood
Some of the best DLC expansions ever.
''The Bioshock You Never Played''
Me: *looks at my steam library* _Play time: 52.4 hours_
12:47 as the years went by, many people started to adapt plasmids as makeshift weaponry, and made addition in kind.
I was literally waiting on this before I clock out, something gnawing at the back of my mind saying “would you kindly wait”
ATLIS!!!!!!!!!!
4:47 I was expecting the Skyrim intro meme, but discord light mode is also a worthy joke
Big sister immune to Gravity well.
i never knew this dlc existed, im so glad you played it because wow it looks AMAZING!!. I thought i knew all most everything about the games but clearly this shows there's still so many things i haven't seen yet, which makes me so excited!.
Man I love your content constantly making me laugh I've been going through watching every video over and over for like 3 dayss XD
Minerva's Den should have been its own game. What a beautiful story.
Can’t be the only one who thinks Porter sounds exactly like Morgan freeman
I'm so happy you played the DLC, it's just a great experience, and it's a shame so many people just skip it.
God I miss the bioshock franchise I want it to come back so bad!!
Last i heard ken working on 3 which is open world and real time, kind of like fallout76 but if an mmo is going to happen i think a lot of programming jank needs to become easier to fix and cheaper to maintain because they wont have the funds to pay for their perfect vision. I would however absolutely pay a sub fee to play a bioshock mmo anyday
there is always another lighthouse
I've said it from day one and I'll always love you for this. You are always so good about keeping the story intact and serious. You treat the story how it is supposed to be treated (when it's a good one) and I appreciate it so much. I had to hug my hubby for a while after the end of this video, but I just adore that you are so sincere in your playthroughs like saving the little girls and being a good person. I know to other people they are just characters and blah blah blah. But I think that taking it seriously and making a real-world decision about treating them like real little girls and the desire to save rather than abuse says a lot about a person and you have always seemed like a wonderful person to me.
I've.... I've actually never played this. CAN THE MAUS READ MY MIND??
Just started this, working my way through all the games for the very first time. Just finished one & two and was about to do 3 when I saw this and realised I had forgot about the dlc so thanks for that.
"ohoho, master hacker-- oops"
ah yeah, it's hacking time
I've recently subscribled and I've been binge watching Indie's vids from most popular down. Not disappointed at all
CM Porter sounds like he is voiced by the same guy who voiced Agent 47 in the last three games, (the World of Assassination Trilogy), David Bateson.
It’s Carl Lumby(?) I think
@@chefofthetrash You are correct. I only really know him as the Witch Doctor in Diablo 3
He is also in a TV show called Brooklyn 99, I believe.
Not even the first five muinites in and he guesses the twist. This guy has played *too much* bioshock
12:54 what's that song?
I hope someone answers you
@@shermanwaysome4643 me too :(
@@nicobychok1037 bruh same
I wait in agony
Made me tear up at the end, man I wish I had bioshock.
Day 5: I ask indiemaus to play co-op games with Sallie until he does.
Great play through.
What I remember about this DLC is how much fun it was, how powerful the ending was...and how just before I got on the bathysphere at the end, how much I didn’t want to, because I knew it’d be the last time I’d see Rapture and I didn’t want to go.
(Although it was nice to see pre-fall Rapture in Burial at Sea.)
Hey! I DID play it!
This channel deserves a lot more subs, keep it up!
