- The Marantz MPM-1000 represents amazing value for money but does it sound any good. The audio in this review is entirely with the Marantz MPM-1000 recording to the Zoom H6.

To my ears the recorded sound is clear and has a nice softness to it with out any distortion at all. Thinking this may be the best I've heard yet. Do understand it is directional of sorts as you demonstrated. Great review Bob.....as always. Thank you
great review, Just bought it with a Phantom and an XLR to 3.5
Thanks for the information! I bought a ribbon Marantz (very similar than this condenser one) some months ago and it made a strange sound and I had to return it... Now, I will try to get this one! Happy New Year!!! :)
Thanks for review!
Thanks for the review
Great Video i was in deep search for a Microphone that is within my buget this review really help me to get my last worrys away to buy it thank you.
Great review!! Just bought one off Amazon. Clicked "buy" on Friday night and it was in my hands by Saturday lunchtime!! Talk about fast delivery. Anyway, this mic is a solid little performer and definitely worth every penny of its competitive price if you're music-studio building or podcasting on a narrow budget. More expensive mics may well outperform it, but this mic definitely outperforms everything else within it's price range and lower....Good build quality (it's heavy in your hand) and that includes the included peripherals that come with it. A cheap little Behringer UM2 or UMC22 interface will be plenty enough to power it (48v Phantom) and you can then record or stream a very respectable, pro sounding audio track for just under £100.....which will by no means shame itself next to "like for like" hardware costing 3 to 4 times that outlay.
Well done in your detailed description
Brilliant review Sir 👏 just got it for my brother who does voice over narrations looks and sounds very similar to Rode nt1 cheers fro Salt Lake City!
im getting this in like 6 months thanks.
Thank you for making this video. I am convinced this is now going to be a good microphone for our awesome facebook live podcast.
Job well done! Love your personality as you spoke through the video. Your review gave me confidence to purchase this mic as I’m looking to start a channel of my own.
nice review!
thanks for this video, you have probably been asked loads of times but can you recommend what audio mixer is a great match for this on a budget
Nice video old timer!
thank you!
Great Mic - I just picked one up secondhand for $60 AUD which is around 30 pounds I guess and I have a Zoom H1 digital recorder I use with a Saramonic SmartRig II pre-amp in between the mic and the H1 (with an adapter) to provide the +48V and XLR input.
I really enjoyed your video. I purchased this microphone months ago and did not like it and did not use it. However, after learning about cardioid mics along with your explanation, I have given it a second chance! Well done. My question is about your set-up with the mic and H6 together on a stand/pedastal. Is that something you created or did you purchase it? Thanks so much!
Hello! How do you connect de Marantz micro to the Zoom?
I wanted to point out that it also comes with a tripod, which I was very impressed with. Metal legs that pop into place smoothly. I did not measure, but it looks to put the microphone about 4-6 inches from foot to mic.
Thanks for the great video! I wish I had seen it before I purchased one; I would have used your link.😔 On the plus side, it arrived today and this video has me excited to start playing with it.
Thanks, I am really pleased you found the video of interest.
well.
Can I connect this mic to my phone?
Not that I am aware of . This mic has an XLR connection for using with pro audio and camera gear, someone may make an adaptor but I do not know of one.
You’d need a compatible interface.
You can find XLR to 3.5mm or USB on Amazon.
Remember, you still need phantom power for maximum output. I don't know how this will sound without it, though believe I read a review that said it does work but is much quieter.
Nice review! (please drink a glass of water in advance though)
Honestly I can barely hear any background noise
Hi everyone,
Can y'all recommend me some microphones that:
-can be used to record with a smartphone
-can also be used with and benefit from an
audiointerface
-versatile enough to be used on most
instruments and singing.
-studio quality.nstruments and singing.
-studio/high quality
Not many microphones work with smartphones!
