- 2014 RAM Cummins 4 x 4 30K transfer case maintenance. Sleep well at night and do your maintenance. Very simple procedure only takes a few minutes. I found a very loose drain plug so it's worth the effort.
Great video, I was able to do this in about 30 minutes and most of it was just cleaning up the oil that seeped out of the pump. Appreciate the info about not over tightening. I saved $95 from what the dealership wanted.

On a straight thread the teflon becomes a lubricant to prevent galling when tightening under certain applications.

@@gtowncasey111 you are incredibly observant on a 4 year old comment. Sorry. The point is, from 4 years ago Teflon tape can be used in multiple ways. I was once young and critical and saw Teflon on a carburetor fitting. Then someone explained to me it wasn't to seal but to lubricate. If it's not a straight thread, it can be a sealant.

2 quart will do it. It's the easiest fluid change on the truck.

Does the serv 4×4 light go off
Yes if it's not in 4 x 4
So my ram says serv 4×4 and it dosent go into 4×4 i got transfercase and front and rear diff oils. Once i change it it won't say serv 4×4? And 4×4 will work?
No, changing the oil won't remove the message. You need to see the dealer to reflash your PCM with an update probably. First take it to autozone or O'reilly's etcc... and have them check for codes.
