Eminem created lyrics that are strong, and powerful, but she made it hers , she made it raw powerful, dark and angry. Our Aussie secret is our secret please tell the world.,
Dude, as an aussie who loves EM and Kasey, she did fucking brain melting heart crushing rendtion; show your wife stat. This is 100% a homage by KC to EM, but is a fucking bomb. I love both, EM hits me one way, KC hits me another. But both hit hard., How fuckin cool is that.
Mate, as soon as Kasey pulled the plectrum out of the headstock, you knew that banjo was gonna cop a flogging. I have two favours to ask of you - 1) Please tell everyone you know about this song. The whole world needs to hear it. 2) Please keep this to yourself. She's our best kept secret. She's ours. She's an Aussie. We ain't sharing her.
All you have to do is look at her Tour dates. She’s playing Lightning Ridge mate. A life on the road playing a lot of small country towns where the profit margin is not going to be that big. She travels, writes and plays because she loves doing it and with the family is top shelf. FYI it’s available on Spotify which means Eminem has heard it and given permission for it to go up. Great lyrics, great cover. It’s a new beast from the original and it’s awesome to see the original creator acknowledge that.
"...and I was playing in the the beginning. And the mood all changed" - The mood does change and she brings the anger and pain. The way the first 2 verses leads to that line it what helps set it up. She sang this like she's lived it, which in some ways she probably has. Dad Bill is on the slide guitar. Em's writing is on full display here, you can NOT do something like this to a song if if it's not well written, and for her to sing using close to the original cadence sets it off nicely. Something I didn't mention in my pitch but will mention here... 90% of reactions I've seen of this the reactor claps their hands at some stage during it. You didn't let me down 😂. To me this sits up there with the greatest covers where someone has made a song their own like Johnny Cash and Hurt.

Oh shit is right. I was lucky to have seen her do this live in April at Bluesfest in Melbourne, Australia. OH MY GOD. Tears were streaming down my face. You could have heard a pin drop. The crowd was mesmerised. Amazing.
I’ve always thought the beginning is that tired, haunted sadness that trauma does to you & then you get tired of being sad. Then the angst & anger follows in all it’s fury. It’s an amazing interpretation of Em’s brilliant writing, a different expression of those emotions. Bloody epic! ✌🏼
Also, there’s the innocent simplicity of the beginning that the vocals match, building with intensity and grit and pain as the story grows more complex. Genius
I got legit chills when you mentioned Janis Joplin because that's what I thought during the 2nd half! Janis is hands down 👇 my favorite female vocalist. This woman is amazing.
She was one of the extremely few singers that made my mom cry every single time she would hear her. She regrets never going to see her live when she had the chance. It’s also a measure of a reaction skill to be on top of your game and spot the greatness. Some have failed the test. You are on point.👌

I’ve watched every reaction to this so far - and yours was best. Thankyou. Kasey’s been on my radar since 1994 when she was just a teenager I think, playing with The Dead Ringers. I was just blown away by her intensity and the way she commits to every syllable of a lyric, and that voice that can go from honeyed sweetness through to razor blade sharp, cuts to the soul. She is amazingly good, I just love her.
Kasey didn't just 'sing' this she 'LIVED' it. Started by just softly relating that life....then the emotion comes through and finally the ANGER! ...when that happened I had my hand on my heart and tears in my eyes. Just Brilliant!!!! The Civic Theatre is a stunning heritage listed building and the Grand Old Dame is the PERFECT setting for such a dramatic performance. G'day from Australia.
BTW, yes, Aussie pronunciation can be a bit of a trap, especially since we don't always agree on what it should be. The Nullarbor Plain is an almost featurless, flat area on the southern edge of Australia (think 1,200 km of almost dessert with a real desert to the north and the ocean to the south) and is usually pronounced 'null-a-bore'. As is normal in Aus, no gaps or breaths, pronounce as a single syllable.

That's why I like and respect artists like Johnny Cash, Willy Nelson and others that are placed in the huge pigeon hole of "country". I love this, from Kasey's delivery, to the insane "in the zone" pocket the band's in. They nailed it! Oh yeah. That's Kasey's Dad Bill on slide. 🇭🇲👍
Going to her book release and signing in November and got tickets to see Kasey preform in Perth, Kalgoorlie, Albany, Esperance and Bunbury in Western Australia
JEZUZ! Where have i been!❤☮️🇬🇧💥
7:08 That’s the Australian twang, probably from our Irish/English heritage, but definitely Australian
This is what music is all about!!! That is all
Listen to this lady sing PONY AND a few more of her songs we love this beautiful lady in Australia 😇❤️❤️😈🇦🇺,
Great intro and reaction! I never listened to Eminem until I heard Kasey's cover of Lose Yourself. Kasey's performance was phenomenal.
I have seen Kasey perform live😍 she is absolutely brilliant, and trust me she goes hard with this song EVERY time. Just brilliant ❤️🔥 chills n tears every time. Also proves that Eminem is brilliant cos those lyrics...💥
Great reaction, thank you! Subbed to see your wife react :)
This is the best reaction I've seen on this performance.
I’ve watched this 20 times and I’m brought to tears every time.
I really don't like rap and I don't much like country, but I loved this. First time I've listened to Eminem lyrics. Now I'll have to check him out too! Kasey knocked this out of the ballpark. If you're checking out epic covers, take a look at John Farnham's cover of The Beatles - Help with the MSO (Melbourne Symphony Orchestra) He's an Aussie legend with the best voice on the planet.😊
I too was impressed by the way she howled instead of 'yo' :)
Kasey is a national treasure over here 🇦🇺, one of the most emotive vocalists and an amazing musician.
Love the content and love the name 🐺.. +👍
Great lyrics are great lyrics.❤
Whole thing is amazing…that last verse though 😢😮
Fabulous reaction, I’ve watched many but yours is fantastic 🇦🇺❤️ she’s fabulous
Janis Joplin like lol, like minds…lol
