Great take. I also enjoyed this movie when I saw it in high school, but looking back on it the entire thing revolves around two of my least favorite tropes: 1) If you don't want to date a 304 you're insecure 2) Men who care about other men are secretly gay.

      i don't know what a 304 is but i can guess. i don't think being a 304 is exclusively inherent in women- a man can be a 304 too.
      you gotta be a man.
a man don't ask questions if he know he don't want the answer. but some dudes gotta know because they are afraid. they scared. they are afraid of what OTHER men will think or say about them if and when they align themselves with women who does not live up to they're standard - thats why i respect Kanye West a lil bit. he married a known tramp and look, he even had kids with her because thats what relationships really boil down to- what we can build and make together.. what does it matter if a person has a soiled past?
if you were stuck on a desert island somewhere with the worst tramp in history would her past matter? i think like that so i can pull out the most important part(s) of things.
being overly concerned with another mans love life is... it is. surely it is not manly because a man is not overly concerned with anyone or anything that does not concern him. i mean, we just friends - you're not my father, son or brother so what right do i have to be concerned with your love life? i have no obligation to you and in reality when it comes to romance, i have no obligation to my father, son or brothers as fars as me interloping into their affairs.
there's a reason why people be in other people's personal business. a man should mind his own business.
what is it if a dude is overly concerned with what another man does with his dick?

@@abdulkhafidsulaymaan How did that work out for Kanye? Nothing you said makes sense. My male friends ARE my brothers, they're the guys I would bring into battle with me, so of course I would make them think twice before they made a potentially terrible decision.
We're not talking about who they take to bed, we're talking about who they get into long term relationships with. Are you saying that if you were Johnny Depp's best friend before he married Amber Heard, you wouldn't warn him?
If you want to go through life with no close friends and putting every woman you meet on the "desert island" pedestal, I hope that works out for you. But there's ample evidence to show that doesn't work for the vast majority of men, so you would be the exception and not the rule.

It's extremely important for us as men, to be very careful and vet the women we date. Dating or worse yet, marrying a woman with a bad enough past, will effectively destroy our legacy, as the woman on our arm, is a reflection of us.

@@Butterfly22593 Not really. Understand that there’s a big difference between men and women when it comes to sex.
Women give off a chemical called oxytocin, which causes them to get attached to the person they’re having sex with.
And scientific evidence shows that when a woman is having intercourse, that man’s DNA goes into certain parts of her body.
As for men, we don’t really give off chemicals like that. We release a big surge of testosterone during sex.
And also data has shown that if a woman has more than 5 to 7 partners, it’s gonna be difficult for her to pair-bond with someone. So, a woman’s past does matter.

"his pride gets in the way and ruins the relationship."
You are confusing an expectation of something, to be pride.
A man, not knowing a woman, sees her in the best light imaginable. He sees visualizes her wearing white on their wedding day because that color is represented to be pure, as what he thinks of the woman in front him. He will believe that she is of great character and morals, and that she has lived a life free from negativity ever being spoken about her. He will treat her in the best way that he can because he sees her life to be the best of what a woman can live. The same as you, going to the bank to apply for a loan. The loan officer sees your well put together attire and perhaps imagines that there will be no problem with you being approved for the loan given you are well mannered and well spoken. Then boom! The loan officer takes a look into your credit report. Awww, dam. Now that loan officer begins to treat you as you are. Unqualified for what you seek.
It is not pride that ruins a thing, but rather expectations. You exoect that a newly opened fancy diner has quality food. Yet you find out that the place unclean. Do you still dine there? Ha. Your pride was hurt? Sounds dumb.

@@Butterfly22593 How can you be a lesbian and also sleep with men? That's bisexual. She presented herself as being lesbian, letting him believe that she hadn't been with men, only to find out that wasn't true.
If a woman believe a man is rich, sleeps with him, then finds out he's not rich, she's going to feel tricked. We don't say "her pride got in the way and ruined the relationship," no, he misrepresented himself. He lied. And she has every right to reject him for that lie.
If a woman lies about her past a man should not be expected to accept or forgive her. He can, but other men will make fun of him and look down on him for doing so. Men need to raise their standards higher as it is.

maybe thats true what Silent Bob was saying- being overly concerned with your dude's romantic life is subtle homoeroticism. cause in the G CODE we have huge boundaries when it comes to another dude's affairs. thats probably why your college roommate (not your homie) didn't pull your coat on that chick you was with because in our code being overly concerned with another dudes pipe and what he does with it is pretty... but thats a G thang and not a Bro thing...
"Whats understood don't need to be explained." This is something we said in the old country. if you don't know the chick you loving while everyone else does then thats entirely on you! I mean, what stopped you from asking around about the chick before you got serious with her? i mean both Codes compels a man to speak the truth if asked but dudes ain't just volunteering info on chicks freely, for all we know you could be a lame that like sloppy seconds, yeah, they exist; dudes out there who try to wife-up a known runner.. i don't know about the Bro Code but in our Code on the behalf of a G, thats a huge NO NO to attempt to save a simp whose trying to wifey a tramp 😂😅 what a laugh.
a homie is someone from your hometown, from your neighborhood, from your street, someone that spent the night over your house when yall was kids- some dude you met in college or prison aint your homie.
the G CODE forbids a G from getting into a man's love life. because a real G don't need anyone to tell him anything about a female and a real G would NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER help a simpa$$ dude whose engaged to the Preacher's daughter.
some dudes can't see a slut for what they are- that was clear to me about you when you started off by describing the chick- like that supposed to make a difference... like just because YOU thought so highly of her she in turned WAS of a higher standard 😂😢. no don't ever put anyone on a pedestal -ESPECIALLY a pretty female. those chicks be more corrupt and broken than the worst hood killers that we know. plus a real G can see a tramp...

For the person who keeps all of the laws except one is as guilty as a person who has broken all of God’s laws. For the same God who said, “You must not commit adultery,” also said, “You must not murder.” So if you murder someone but do not commit adultery, you have still broken the law.

some of the things you say about women i strongly disagree with. a person's past is not the sum total of who they are and I implore you to reconsider your propagation of this 304 stuff- it kinda make you look bad man, it ain't no G shit I'll tell you that.
you make it seem like a woman with a sorted and sullied past has no future and is beyond redemption and that ain't something a man of God should promote and spread.
we make mistakes bro, sometimes we make the worst mistakes so we can reach our best level and sins ain't who we are because thats what the alphabet people are saying -that their lifestyle choices IS their identity. A slut is not an identity much like other lifestyle choices, it is an experience that comes and goes while the person remains just a simple and flawed Creation of God.
take it easy on the ladies bro.
you make it seem like a chick can't overcome her past like her lifestyle is an addiction that could spring out of her at anytime, like being a tramp is being a crackhead. but man, if theres redemption for a bass head surely a tramp can be redeemed... we all can.
lastly i don't like the message that you're stressing here, it make you sound scary and afraid to trust or even love a woman like one day if you do love her she'll jump out the tramp closet on you when you come home to find a cho cho being ran on her or something.
    chill 😂😅

This is your second simp essay in this comments section. If your clown ass accepts your girl’s past of being spit-roasted and/or ran through like a stunt, cool. That “you still a queen to me” shit don’t fly here.

      Verrrry simpy of you, man.
The OBSERVABLE REALITY is that wimmen with a 304 past are HIGHLY likely to have:
      Trauma.
      Baggage.
      Single mothers.
      STDs.
      Divorced.
      Negatively impacted ability to pair-bond...
      Prone to cheat.
Prone to divorce so she can return to the streets...
      You want em?
      You can havvem, yo.
Just leave the rest of us outta you delusion, ok? 🤨

@@thejakker6369Weak argument because everyone has some form of trama even if they aren't 304s. Plus, you can have sex with only one person and get an STI.
