The Metro pick ups were just used to run around the longbridge factory. I remember them when I started my YTS there.

Walking around these shows is like taking mind altering drugs! You find yourself thinking "i'd really like one of those" about a car you'd never really considered! Michellotti did a super job of updating the Triumph 2000 and giving it a family resemblance to the Stag didn't he. Love that Allegro 1750SS in Lagoon Metallic. Marina TC coupes looked good in that colour too.

Thanks for your humorous video ! Good to see so many pristine examples of our last volume British brand and the people who care about them. I remember the two Maxis I had back in the 80's both tough, reliable and comfortable motors even though our motoring journalists constantly rubbished every BL product...but in the end they got their way with the demise of MG Rover 😢

Excellent walk round, almost as good as being there and like your honesty in not pretending to know everything, instead preferring to choose if you liked the colour.
Who can't love a TR7 though? Pop up headlights, simple Dolomite mechanics , iconic 70's wedge and at least Harris Mann copied the iconic Bertone styled FIAT X1/9 before Toyota did with the MR2
Awesome video, but I think you might have just missed the Austin Maxi's out Paul, I didn't see any Aistin Ambassador's either. I guess we can't have everything in life, thanks for going and thanks for sharing.
Definitely missed out the Maxis, but I don't think there were any Ambassadors there this year.

There was an SD3 there and you skipped over it without a mention! Not an interesting car but very rare these days.
The red white and blue ones at 14:40 got a mention though.
Is it just me, or do ALL those old cars look fantastic? Such a variety of great colours too - have green and yellow been totally outlawed these days? Every different type makes me think, now why didn't I have one of those when they were around?
Modern cars look nothing like Sid James any more, they all resemble Fu Man Chu!! What might a car show look like in 40 years time I wonder? Rows of white and silver SUV things that nobody can tell apart?
