This is really late in coming, but I just wanted to say I watched these videos to rebuild my 4r100 about 5-6 years ago. This guy is awesome - very detailed. My transmission worked perfectly afterwards. Thank you!!
I used this kit and video 2 years ago and the Trans is still going strong. I recommend this kit to everyone who asks about getting a 4r100 rebuilt. Great product and tech support.
Big thanks to this series and your teaching abilities! I just successfully rebuilt my 4r100 using your series. Runs better than ever and Ive earned a new understanding of how my truck operates. Huge confidence builder as far as mechanic repairs go. Thank you for your contributions and empowering us with this knowledge. 🙏🏻
This is an absolutely incredible series of lessons. I can't begin to thank you enough for all the time and effort that went into producing this extraordinary educational material. Superb !!!
Your videos are amazing. For anyone watching, spring the money to get a decent set of snap ring pliers, the cheap ones work but it's a massive pain. Feeler gauges are 100% a must

@@zacharybirt1742 Yes, I was in the military. We used to have civilian instructors that were awesome because they were retired vets. Obama cut military funding so they can’t hire retired vets or civilians anymore as instructors. Now it’s probably worse. 😂

Mr Williams, your transmission rebuild videos are the most detailed videos on UA-cam. You have taught me so much that I am considering rebuilding transmissions for people as a secondary source of income. Thank you so much for your time and effort in producing these videos. Please consider including the 6l80 transmission in your video lineup. Thanks again and I wish you well. THANKS!!!!
I’v watched these videos through at least once. and I have so much admiration and respect for Mr.Williams that there was no way I was going to buy any parts from anyone else. I went on the website to look at parts and decided to call the number in hopes of talking about my build with someone who knows what they are talking about. I was delighted to realize that he himself answered the phone! For me it was like talking to a celebrity idol hahaha. I am beyond grateful for your services sir!
Now I'm on Craigslist looking for something with a 7.3 just so I can pull the transmission out and take it apart. You're a bad influence sir, but I thank you.
Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge. You are a great professor. I have learned to rebuild. 4r70ws and 4l60s from watching you. I just saw the 4r100 and i will buy the 4l80 videos. Thanks again
Mental note- this is a 4x2 gas 2000 expedition 5.4 model, says specificly this is the 5.4, 5.8, and 6.8 configuration. Sure like to know the major differences and internal differences between diesel and gas as well as 4x2 and 4x4 models.
How much power would you say is safe to have with the deluxe super kit in this video. I'm looking to go from a stock 7.3 motor to 450hp-500hp over the course of the next year. I will be putting a triple disc converter and upgraded valve body in both from revmax as well. I would imagine that the Transgo hd2 tugger kit would not be needed with the upgraded valve body I plan to use but I'm not sure. Thanks and this looks like a great series.
after opening the pan on mine,I have an another valve body section between the solinoid pack and the filter sitting on top of the normal valve body sections.Should this just be treated as normal in the rebuild? and will the rebuild deluxe kit have the gasket?
So, my E4od lost forward gears, but has reverse, what could that be, I read that it could be my shifter linkage, but I’m not sure, and I also heard it could be my forward clutch
Yes, please. Your videos are very informative and help anyone who wants to learn. I've been wanting to learn the 5R110. I have several cores I can practice on.
Is this a video series that someone with some working knowledge of tools and automotive repairs can take their time and accomplish? Or is this just too big a project for someone with out any formal training or previous experience working on transmissions? Thank you
I had a 91' F-150. Now I can find out why the transmission went out. Apart from the fact that 3 juvenile delinquents stole it one night, went joy riding, got stuck and did who knows what to my truck.
#TransmissionBench.Wow, this is proper...Would a 4R100 bolt onto a 6.7 IDI International (come out a F-250 1987) w/Sidwinder Banks turbo? Please advise.
I can see this video series is going to prep me to build my 4r100. But the safety note at the end of the video after the mushroomed drift at 10:04 is a bit hard to take. I was always taught to grind off those mushrooms.... I'm going on with the series, though. Just saying.
I have a suggestion for DIY'rs. Don't do what I did. Go to this guys website and purchase HIS kit. It ISN'T more expensive than other places, despite what that numbers make you think. If I had just done that, I could have saved money trying to order from here and there to cover all my bases. Just get his kit, and a rebuilt solenoid pack.
Does his deluxe kit include all the Torrington bearings and etc.? I didn’t hear him mention it but on another website it gives me a option to buy bushing, Torrington bearing, all kinds of minor kits needed for the e4od rebuild...
@@austinsmith7131 I assume you're talking about those cylindrical bearings that you hammer in. Yes, I do believe his kits have those. His kit seems to be the most complete and highest quality, though this is an amateur talking.
Help!!! please? my 96 F250 with 7.3 and E40D trans. I had my transmission rebuilt 3 weeks ago. 1st test drive out of shop, I took it on the highway and back toward home. It seemed to be shifting great until I put it in reverse... it shuddered in reverse. I returned it to the shop and 2 weeks later, got it back. The mechanic said "he had to replace the pump" Now, after highway use, I have a delay and it does not appear to fully lock into reverse and feels like it is slipping as if not fully locked into reverse. I called the mechanic and he claims it is normal because of the transgo tugger kit he installed and the 3 disc billet torque converter they added. I called transgo and was told in a very matter of fact way that the transmission should still engage into reverse just as it did before the rebuild. Any input, advice will be greatly appreciated. I paid $3,800 for the rebuild and that was a huge hit on my finances. I just want peace of mind that I got everything that I paid for and knowing that I can take my truck on the road without worry. Thank you in advance!
Better pay a mechanic do it the job and get the warranty .. you not saving just kit it self will cost you $590 +295 plus other small stuff that u may need .. so you will be spending more $1000
Nothing like doing it yourself for bragging rights. I rebuilt a Turbo-hydromatic 350 trans many many years ago and it gave me immense personal satisfaction after it worked like new again. A mechanic you pay is not going to be as careful and care about doing as good job as you would be working on your own vehicle.

Yes.

I believe it will go into limp mode, 4th and Reverse only.
