I swear, you’re the Mr Rodgers of transmission repair. Such a calm and clearly spoken voice, that completely conveys all the information we need to confidently delve neck deep into this unknown realm of black magic known only as automatic transmission repair.
Getting a 1993 econoline 150 was told new transmission and as long as you don’t go over 55mph if you do it will apparently shift into 2nd gear. This is all been told verbally I’ve yet to see the van in action but I’m guessing a 6spd vs 4spd install would cause such an issue. Thanks for such a detailed instructional video. Hoping I find out this mysterious shifting error because from the pics and video everything else is solid and garage kept.
What should I do if I accidental removed the 2 bolts that hold the two together and they came apart? I know I can just put it back together but I have none of the check balls that were there… what size are they and how many should I need for a 1993 e4od
Hella smart love the vids but the small block will bolt to a 4.9 or 5.8 5.8 n 5.4 r different bells 351w or 352c r the same a 351m in big block the 5.4 in called a Modular engine so it will not bolt to the 5.8
Where are you located?? I’d love to do any modifications necessary for my 94 e150 5.8 E4od to make it last such as drilling the holes larger you mentioned in the valve body. Anything that can be done without removing the tranny. This beautiful conversion van only has 30,000 miles on it. Found it a couple years ago at 18,800 miles. Love it.
Sir, I have a problem with my 1993 f150 5.0 E4OD automatic transmission. It hesitates upon acceleration. I have no check engine light on but when I ran a code reader, it showed two codes. first code was 621 which shows to be "Solenoid/circuit failure - shift solenoid 1 - transmission". The second code is 629 which shows to be "Torque converter clutch circuit fault - transmission". The only thing I can think of doing is replacing the transmission solenoid pack while doing a fluid change in hopes that will clear the codes. If someone could help and give some advice on where I should start would be appreciated.
This guy is the Bob Ross of mechanics I love it!
Probably one of the clearest instructional videos I've ever seen.

Wow, if only other instructors were as good as this guy.
I just wanted to thank you for such an excellent quality tutorial. I deeply thank you for your work and sharing knowledge.
2022 checking in.. glad I came cross your video very helpful
I love how easy the case connector on the solenoid pack came out for him
because like he said he had already taken this apart previously.
i know right 🤣🤣🤣
Are there more than the few torx bolts and one but holding the solenoid pack in. I can't get it out but idk if anything else is holding it in
@@likicks9667the connector on top of the transmission is still holding the solenoid pack from outside
My solenoid has a raised lip that the connector clips onto had to break it and pull it from the outside

I'm eating donuts in my kitchen watching this with safety glasses and mechanix gloves. (See end of video 1.)
Ready to learn. Love your videos.
If you follow the bolts in box system you will lose your ass.
Put in baggies mark clearly. Place in box.
Hi explain very well, thank you
I'm about to rebuild an E4OD with 200K..... hope my torque converter comes off that easy
How’d the project go? Success?
It was also mated to the 4.9l.
also thought the modular was a different bolt pattern from the 351 and 351 has 2 bolt hole starter.
thank you I was worried for a second. im rebuild my e40d bolted to my i6 300 and this man did not mention it at all. so thank you for the comment
@@kjm00000 you're welcome. I know it's factory as my father ordered a 1990 Bronco with the 300 new and we still have it.

4.9 i6, 5.0, and 5.8 Windsor all use the same bellhousing. And what 5.8 modular engine are you talking about?
I have the high top big block for the 460 so im hoping all is reallly similar
My trans hesitates and slips pretty bad in my 1995 f250 w the 460

Is the check ball location on 98 f250 5.4 light duty 4r100 the dame as this?
What happens if you over torque the solenoid pack?
👍👍👍
set play speed 1.5
