Agreed! I hated the first season and stopped. too dark ( literally dark as in cant see) and too many characters. Then gave it a second go and by the end of season 2 was hooked. by the end of the series I was a fan and bought the books. I never do that unless I'm in love with a storyline.
It makes way more sense to land on the cone. They’re already oriented the right way. That way you can use the ship as normal when you’re planetside, for something as simple as making a coffee. Definitely an upgrade from the books. The show does many things better. It’s like the writers get to do it better and get input and ideas from other showwriters, making the whole thing a goddamn masterpiece that will stand the test of time.
History of the expanse is that it was original a pitch for an MMO in the wake of WoW's success but it never got picked up so Ty took the material he had for the pitch and turned it into a table top RPG, Daniel was in the small group that he played with and upon seeing all the world building he had done told him that they should turn it into a book and James SA Corey was born. Then Syfy turned it into a show for the first 3 seasons, canceled it because it was expensive, then Amazon picked it up, ostensibly because of the fan #savetheexpanse campaign , but realistically probably more because Jeff Bezos is a fan, it was his favorite show and being the richest guy on the planet comes with a side benefit of you never have to let your favorite show be canceled because you can just buy the rights to it with your streaming service. The more you know 🌈 Bad ass model ship you've got there, display it proudly.
Best space show ever and one of the best TV series ever, and although Andor has now raised the stakes cinematically, I think the world of The Expanse still feels more real. If science fiction gets any better than this, how are we going to do anything but watch TV all day?
would be nice if the PDC hardpoints has a little recess so that they could fit snuggly on the hardpoint without moving all around. magnets is nice and all but they can still be nudged around.
Nice! But I still prefer the 3d printed version I am working on. It is pretty much the same length, got torpedo bays that open with torpedoes (that you can remove) in, an extendable air bridge/docking collar, each PDC is deployable from inside with doors that open to allow you to extend them or retract them - and even a drone bay with actual drones in! It's amazing. Sure it is taking an age to make, but I feel it is a step above. Which is actually amazing that you can now 3d print something that rivals a manufactured thing! Still, this is really cool
if you look closely at the show, you can see the rocinante/tachi models used in the show are painted lego builds. there was no need to wait for model kits.
If only it weren't relatively expensive because this thing is too cool. Seems to me the Donnager and Agatha King would round out things well though I guess scale might be an issue!
Just noticed it's not available anymore. 😔 I'm jealous you got such a nice model for only $200 I bought $300 worth of snapships to build my own, or something similar like the other ships on the Expance through kitbashing. The landing sequence is pretty accurate to real life... It's how Elon Musk's Dragon Spaceship hovers for a landing.
Indeed I wish I had this.... ....so I bought it when the kickstarter went live. I also built my own Roci, my own Scirroco, my own Morrigan, my own Truman, my own Protogen Stealth Frigate, my own Donnager and currently in the middle of designing my own Pella and Canterbury.

@@Fulou Obviously. He talks about the books. When he said “originally” he was referring to the tv show originally being on SyFy before Prime, not that the show preceded the books.
The best scifi series ever a must watch, great model looks so good
i guess it is kinda off topic but does anybody know a good website to stream new tv shows online ?
@Finley Eugene meh lately I have been using Flixportal. Just google after it:) -nixon
@Nixon Roger thanks, I went there and it seems to work :D I really appreciate it !
@Finley Eugene no problem :D

I'm SO SALTY I missed the Kickstarter for this. Great model, thank you for sharing!

In the rationale is that the drive plume would obliderate anything downstream, hence, landing with RCS on it's belly.
looks like our inner child never really dies.
Badass! Thank you for sharing.
I missed out. Just gonna build this from a 3D printed version. Thinking 3 feet tall. Excited.

This was the most joyful thing to watch. Exactly how i would have acted opening the same thing.

BELTALOWDAS was this worth buying? (big amos fan here- I live in Baltimore!)
Is this available anywhere?????
So sweeet you lucky bastard!

Where you buy that piece?

I looked for an online retailer to but one and cannot locate one. Where can I buy one?
where I can buy it?
Yes, Yes I do wish I had this

My only Expanse regret is not getting this model!

I think the PDC's should have been attached and retractable for 200 dollars.
One N is missing on the plastic box. What a stupid mistake...
Not Rocinate, but RociNante.
I’m pretty sure the instructions tell where the switch is.
Where!!!!!! Do you buy this?????
You don't really, it was a Kickstarter limited run so it's not available anymore. I just found out about it too....
@@thebl1ndbat oh damn. This would've been awesome to have!
3:13 Jesus... that sound
What about it?
Focus! Where is damn focus! :D
I wanna!
Would be a lot better if the landing gear wasn't showing whistling flight

Amazing. Wish we had a option to still buy. So much fake junk on the web for sale..

I was in the kickstarter for this but it was managed so poorly I back out and got a full refund.
looks cheap plastic wish it was metal or aliminum
Major cringe
Jealous.
