I gave up make-up about 6 years ago, including when I still went in to the office. I now work from home. I can’t tell you how freeing it is. Nice clean face all the time, saves me money and TIME!! I did splurge over the last few years and got permanent eye liner and eyebrows so that makes me feel good and not completely “naked”. I also still color my hair-I’m not ready to let the gray take over!! Do whatever makes you happy. You look just fine in this video!

I just finished the book you highly recommended. The Last One. Amazing. Loved the short chapters. Loved where it took place. I could not believing the ending. OMG! Thank you for suggesting this book. It goes on my book shelf now! All I have left to say is WOW! 😂.

Even though I thoroughly enjoyed your retreat vlogs I totally understand you’re wanting to simply enjoy the retreat’s. I’ve mainly done stamped cross stitch because I found counted cross stitch much harder. Later in life I discovered needlepoint which I did for many years. After watching all the flosstubers (you were my very first) I realize how much neater counted cross stitch is. The stamped x’s are usually blue, you still have to follow a pattern of what color goes on what cross stitch (same as counted). Unless your stitches are perfect (the stamped x’s are never perfectly even) you can sometimes still see a little of the blue (I don’t know if there’s a way to wash that out). No holes, just material - and not the softest either. Also I stopped wearing makeup about 7 years ago-takes up so much time and also my eyes are so sensitive that my eyes would tear up after I put on mascara. I can’t wear contacts either-same reason. I just try to wear makeup on special occasions. I definitely feel better with makeup on but it’s my life now!!

The material does have holes. If you wanted, you can also just use the pattern and any material that you have. So far I have been truly enjoying this! 👍💓
I am doing my first stamped cross-stitch. There may be different types. The kit I bought is color and symbol coded just like a diamond painting. It is 14 count adia. I'm trying it because in my new home , I do not have the room to stretch out as required. I can't find a place to put my pattern!!! Now I don't have to worry about it.

Hi, love watching your videos on books, and cross stitch. I have not read fiction since my sister died in 2015 from STAGEIV BREAST CANCER. My late cousin-in-law from Nova Scotia has tried teaching me cross-stitch, and ended up giving herself shots of Tequila.
I am all about Something About The Sun! OMG! That one is a MUST do. About the make-up thing, I don't wear make-up. It's just never been my jam. at 63, I don't see that changing. BUT...I do sometimes do mascara. Just cause my eyes disappear behind my glasses. But, my wife wears make-up on the regular. She is beautiful with and without. Conventional societal beauty measurements have no place in normal life. It's just to darn stressful. Girl, you do you!!!
You don’t have to justify what you like to stitch on ,be it printed or counted cross stitch ,yes there a holes in the fabric of stamped crossstitch.l have done one ,easy for someone to follow the colour key than count at a retreat .😍 as Danielle says do what makes you happy .
I haven’t worn makeup in years. When I did I usually only wore mascara and some blush. My MIL wouldn’t leave the house unless she had her makeup on. Even when she wasn’t going anywhere she put on makeup. Btw, bought 4 CM patterns. 😅

You go girl! I had a good laugh on your comments about aging and makeup. I also think women look beautiful when they accept their beauty, instead of trying to cover it up. Women can look stunning when they go natural or close to it. I also used to be so into beauty products and trying them all. But now, heck... no one is looking and quite frankly my dear 'I don't give a dam'. That has to be one of the most freeing things of getting older.
Danielle you inspired me to try a Carol Manning Design on perforated paper. Like you I bought 4 patterns. My question for you is do you convert to DMC yarns from Classic Colorworks Threads or do you use the called for?

The Carolyn Manning Designs patterns I purchased all call for DMC floss. No converting necessary.
