Roy Orbison was a Rock ‘N Roll star who started making records in 1956 and was huge in the ‘60’s. His material was so popular that it was used decades later in movies like Blue Velvet and Pretty Woman.

"You Got It" is a song from Roy Orbison's 22nd studio album, Mystery Girl (1989). The song was released posthumously on January 3, 1989. The song was recorded at guitarist Mike Campbell's garage in Los Angeles, California and mixed at George Harrison's residence Friar Park in Henley-on-Thames, England. Orbison's fellow Traveling Wilburys bandmates, Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne, co-wrote the song and played instruments on the record.

Great singer , my Nan loved him, even when she was really poorly she was up dancing to him with my mum and aunties. He gave her a second wind.

Sadly, he died soon after this song brought him back to the top of the charts. This was released in 1989.

Hi Erin...you cannot go wrong with Roy Orbison or the Big O as he was referred to. Elvis Presley referred to him as the greatest singer in the world and was intimidated by how good his voice was when they toured together. When Roy came over in the 60s to the UK in London , one of the Beatles shouted back stage to "clear off Yankeee..go back home" due to how popular Roy Orbison was with the audience, and considering the Beatles were riding high at No1in the UK charts with the single "Love me Do" this was pretty amazing. Keep going with Roy.. One of the great falsetto voices. Amazing to think how many great songs such as Crying, In Dreams, Only the Lonley he produced with such personal tragedy he suffered throughout this life losing his first wife in a motor cycle accident and his two sons burnt alive in his house whilst he was away touring in the UK. To comeback and team up with Jeff Lynne of ELO who produced the single You Got It, and George Harrison to form the super group the Travelling Wilbury's is quite incredible. People have spoken fondly about Roy Orbison in being the most gentle, kindest, humblest non showy performer you could wish to meet. A very spiritual man who sounded like a preacher on some tracks , particularly "Pretty Paper" ( perfect tune for Christmas!)but with a voice that was so soulful it was almost unearthly . When asked how he would like to be remembered he replied..." I would just like to be remembered". There will never be another Roy Orbison. Thanks for posting it!!.
