Send some snow down here to Connecticut. Hope all is well Tinman. Working on a Straight-Gassed Husky 455 Rancher with a Duke's Pop-Up Piston. Now I'll have to port the cylinder!
Thank you for the comparison Tinman. I have a friend building a 85cc bicycle engine with the clone MS 460/380 piston combo. He recommended I also strengthen it with a pop-up and 5th transfer port. So I sent him 1 of each. HL supply and red roof or red box.
Howdy Sir would love to hear your story! If you think parenthood is good just wait for grandparent hood, its amazing!!! Thank you kindly for your time, great video!!!
All this, or just run the shortest bar possible. Forget the intake port location, it's not in the combustion chamber. My 034 with a short bar on 25:1 will run for 100 years.
I put a big bore kit on my farmer G444 with base gasket delete and worker saw ported with everything I learned from you and Ironhorse. it squished at 32 so I think a pop-up piston would help me since I don’t have a mill or lathe
It will be nice to revisit your journey. My trailer plug builds up some oxidation and then a poor connection, a little clean up and back in business or The main ground wire breaks by the hitch. TC Mahalo Tinman 🤙🤙🤙
Thanks Tinman. That's pretty much the explanation i was suspecting. I like the what you said about sweeping the transfers. Would you do that to the primary only? I just finished up some grinding on a 353 that i bought. The cylinder was a little boogered up, but cleaned up ok. We'll see how it runs. If it's a dud I'm going to get a 346 top end kit from Ryan.
I'm picking up what you're putting down!! Already bought a pop-up,.013 gasket and dual port muffler. Now since it might have a little more grunt, can I go with an 8 pin sprocket, and 3/8 chain on my cs2252 and still keep my rpms in the cut ok? I'll be limbing oak with it.
I never knew what a pop up did. I will confirm, angle the transfers upwards. 7310 ported, thats what he did. High and midrange power is ruthless. Gasket delete and base cut. I can barely start it without decomp. Its my sleeper saw, dont look like much. Oh but she cuts.
Tinman i just bought a 300th anniversary edition 268xp and was wondering do u think it's worth putting a 272xp top end on it? Or just do base gasket delete on the 268xp cylinder n port it?
😊😊 HI TIMAN IVE heard of places colder than Canada 🇨🇦 😮 mostly 4O degrees below O and IVE heard 75/ and 9O,degrees below O years ago and it's also alot colder overseas than here 😮😮 I had a auto mechanics teacher when I was in school 🏫, when he was overseas and in the war where he was back then it was so cold 🥶 😮, all of the equipment had 2 be started evey hour on the hour jeeps, tanks planes and anything else U can think 🤔 😮 of OMG 1 16 2O25
Very well explained. Thanks, Tinman, for sharing your knowledge with us!

Where in CT are you at? I might have some dollar/Makita saws I need worked on and my local shop doesn’t working on anything but Stihl
I picked up what you threw down! Great teaching!
Great explanation as always👍🏻 looking forward to some "OG" footage!

Very good demo, makes me want to do some hot rodding.
Many late model two stroke dirt bikes come with domed pistons wonder why that hasn’t come around on saws!? Great vid!!
I'm rebuilding a stihl 201 top handle saw that has a domed piston from factory and its a 2019 model so maybe they will start moving in that direction.
You are a proper man my friend! love to you all p.s stay warm☃
Howdy tinman just here working on my 395 build mild porting for a fire wood saw
Tinman I just bought a parts saw for the screw in gas cap for my ported 046 it's a 044 10mm wrist pin crank so I think I'm buildin a slant fin 😅😊😂

Them diesel powered recirculating coolant heaters work awesome in heavy equipment. And they’ve come down in price quite a bit

So the pop up kinda acts like a burr on one of your ports therefore making your air/fuel mix lag within its travels?
How does the popup affect the turbulence at the time of the squish? Could a popup be beneficial to a lazy squish type of saw?

Ah the endless argument between popups and flat tops. Its time for 🍿 !
Hey Tinman, what software do you use for editing. I have videos but struggle editing. Any ideas are appreciated
I use an app called video maker on my phone..been using that for the last 3 years, works great..
If all your trailer lights are flickering, check your ground probably bad or intermediate problem. Hope what helps my friend
👍
How's the Tinman and family.
