People are forgetting that the reason Gohan has so much potential is because he's the only hybrid saiyan born with a tail, which in so many ways allows him to access all of the saiyans transformation and with his human emotions he can do what Goku and Vegeta can't
Gohan isn’t just half human. He’s the son of Chi-Chi (who is no slouch) and the grandson of the invincible Ox King (who is one of the most powerful humans on earth). People seem to forget that Goku married into a powerhouse family.

Gohan's basically just a character created around "beware the rage of a patient man". Gohan's got a big heart. He's sweet. He's kind. Far more tempered and heroic than his father. He's never looking to fight. Which is what makes his rage so potent. Why his fury gives him such insane boosts. He wants peace-- and threatening that peace, hurting the people he loves, sends his power levels absolutely sky high.
The more you starve your inner demons/dark desires, the more extreme the backlash will be when they finally retaliate. It will be the ultimate Faustian deal made in desperation. You get what you want and need, but your whole life all that you love risks getting burned down around you. It's important to feed your demon little scraps. Gohan does not do this. So when he takes the Faustian Deal with his dark side, the collateral damage is amplified. Gohan's rage is all or nothing. Huge reward and payoff, but with a big price to pay with how he loses himself. Almost like he is selling his soul momentarily to attain the power he needs in the moment
Goku had to help him understand this was the reason that his potential so greatly surpassed his own, and in turn helped him beat cell. Gohan was always so scared of losing until that switch flipped
My interpretation has always been that Goku had it the hardest to become a SS because he basically rediscovered a lost ancient technique. Once he broke that barrier it became easier for others to transform since they could just observe him.
Correct but to add Gohan had a struggle a bit because he was born before Goku when Super. Unlike Goten... Future trunks struggled more than his Present counterpart because he had less people to observe

Crazy idea here, what if gohan also belongs in the special category with brolly. It would explain his berserker rage moments but can get himself under control faster due to being part human.
It wouldn’t really make sense as Gohan has that rage because he’s half human. Broly has it due to 50+ years of mental trauma living on a desolate alien infested planet while being electrocuted prolly daily

Something I think that's important to remember is that Goku, Vegeta and Gohan realistically had to achieve more by themselves than the rest of the Saiyans. Either achieving SSJ or SSJ2 by themselves. Once they figured it out, it's easier to pass down the knowledge. They had no guide initially. Goten and Trunks both had living figures that could teach them.
Literally what i came to the comment section to say. Goku and Vegeta had to unlock it on their own with no real direction on how to do it. Not even a visual in Gokus case. Everyone else after at least had a visual on what it looked like hence making it a little bit easier to achieve

One aspect I feel should be discussed is that Goku is a genius in one very specific way - battle intelligence. He learns battle skills and invents them at the a rate above other characters. His ability to follow and understand opponents battle techniques to find weaknesses is also unparalleled. A lot of this is natural skill going back to OG DragonBall too as how he learned the Kamehameha in one demonstration that took Kame 50 years to do. So yes, physically he isn't at the level of the rest latently, but mentally he's an autistic savant for battle.

He doesn't need it. He said himself in the anime even that he has chosen his own path and rather than God KI, he will grow stronger through evolving his Mystic form. That's what the next part of Super is, rather than everyone having the same form like Super Saiyan, they've all taken different paths. Piccolo through Shenron to achieve his Orange Piccolo, Gohan through his Mystic form to achieve Beast, Vegeta through his Ultra Ego, Goku through Ultra Instinct, and Broly through legendary Super Saiyan. Giving Gohan God ki would ruin the plans that Toriyama had set down for the next part of Super.

The main reason is much more simple… people forget.. Gohan is one of The only saiyans that was born from 2 pure souls. Two souls able to ride the Flying nimbus. This why DB writing annoys me. There's really just not enough depth for anyone outside of Goku and Vegeta. We shouldn't still be guessing about Gohan, Goten or Trunks' power at this point.
The concept of Heterosis makes sense. It makes the most sense with Gohan because of how his transformations occur. Goku taught him to use the power of loss to break through. Goku learned this through losing Krillin, his best friend. But the thing is that Emotion seems to be very strongly connected to battle power as has been displayed many times throughout the shows history. What is the difference between Gohan and his father or Vegeta? Well, you can see in Goku's case that when someone gets hurt he gets serious. This implies that Goku has a strong sense of right and wrong. It upsets him to see the strong hurt the weak. There have only been 2 occasions in the entire history of Dragon ball when Goku truly lost it. The first time was with with the loss of Eighter and the second time was with the loss of Krillin. Other than that, Goku merely just feels bad about people getting hurt or dying. it makes him angry but not emotional. Gohan on the other hand has a lot of compassion. He went SS because he was sick of letting his friends get hurt and sick of being weak. He went SS2 when he witnessed the death of 16 whom he was barely acquainted with. I would Argue that his compassion is derived from his Human DNA. It most certainly is not a result of Saiyan DNA. Saiyans are power hungry, blood thirsty warriors where strength is everything. I guess you could argue that Goku wasn't close to Eighter either. but that side story is basically just a ripoff of the Cell Saga. all they did was copy Gohan and instead make it Goku. Outside of that, Goku is a pure hearted Saiyan, but he does not have the same depth of emotions that his son has. Because there are many times where Goku did not express such deep emotions. he merely just felt bad about what happened. but it wasn't really personal for him. Further more. Motives play a big role. Goku just wants to fight strong warriors and test his strength and get stronger. Gohan has no such drive, But he NEEDS to protect people, therefore he NEEDS to be strong. And he gets angry when his friends get hurt. This is EVERY serious battle with Gohan. but it has only been the case a few times with Goku.
The main thing that holds Gohan back is all mental, it's why when he loses control he skyrockets to new levels never before seen. It's when we see just a hint of his potential. I could see Toyotarou start taking the manga in a direction where Goku and Vegeta start taking more of a back seat and a Gohan/Broly rivalry starting to take the forefront. Gohan already is starting to show Broly how to control his power, I could absolutely see them play off each other to reach new heights, especially since the source of their power while different is still comparable.
The reason why the saiyans from universe 6 was able to transform so easily was because Vegeta and Goku was able to tell them exactly how to do it and build up that feeling in their backs. If someone came and told Goku and Vegeta how to do it,mmm sure they would’ve reached it a lot sooner.
exactly & while people think it’s an asspull it actually has real world reasoning known as the sacral chakra. it’s located on your lower back & associated with emotions, particularly anger. It makes sense that focusing on that point in your back is the actually trigger for the transformation. u can even seem them perk up their back when they power up/transform
Forgot to mention that the whole thing about the Legendary Super Saiyans is that they can use the power of the Oozaru without transforming into it (but this is also why they grow so huge even as human form). This stacks with their base power or form. That combined with the other ability which is extreme adaptability and evolution, makes it so their power lvl continuously increases rapidly as they fight. Another thing about Gohan that people miss or forget is that he is that he inherited the ''rage'' part of Chi Chi which is pretty intense. While Goten is quite the opposite. This is why when he gets these outbursts of rage combined with his Saiyan genes it makes him jump exponentially in power. This is why also his Beast Form is so different from the SSB from Goku And Vegeta. It is called Beast because it is literally being fueled by a huge spike in rage, like a beast. It is incredible people miss this even though it's been show cased since DB with Chi Chi, and in every single scenario Gohan evolves in power. It even is a direct joke in the SBD Super Hero movie when Piccolo triggers Gohan on purpose with a planned scenario to abuse the way he increases in power. So while Broly needs to be in combat to grow. Gohan does so in bursts just by being in situations that make him rage.
yeah, broly's dad literally explains brolys power is him tapping into his Oozaru without transforming which is what causes the berserker state. combine that with him being super pure hearted because he's dumb as a bag of hammers, means he has a crazy amount of s-cells, then multiply that with going super saiyan and bam. i think my theory tracks because kale is an innocent idiot also that has similar power to broly.
When you really think about it Gohan and Broly are the same naturally pure hearted Saiyans with only extensive and targeted trauma being the main reason for one to transform while the other had many ways to overcome death or misfortune
I always figured part of the reason Goten and Trunks were able to transform so much earlier than Gohan is because they were both conceived after their fathers had achieved Super Saiyan and would have been exposed to it earlier (through Vegeta).

Kinda weird that gohan didn't go beast at the Tournament of Power. His entire universe and the universe of many others were on the line. He's not just a guy who cares about his friends, he seems himself as a literal superhero who is responsible for the safety of his fellow man.
Because he didn't train enough then..my man just got his mojo back just before the tournament..and since then he never stopped training (according to Super Hero)
He didn't do much training for it that time. It was only after the Tournament of Power that he began setting aside a little time from his day to train. Even this little training was good enough to get Gohan back into shape and unlock more of his potential and hidden power.
Gohan doesnt push himself like Goku, even when all seems lost he knows his dad has it covered. You only see gohan exceed his father and thats when his dad isnt there and its up to him and Goku CANT help. Gohan can't see his family and loved ones be completely destroyed. He loses his sh*t and hence a new form. You also have to remember he is half human and his emotions are far more potent which gives him a boost too. Gohan could be better than Goku, but why would he want to? He has a loving wife and daughter, he has all he wants.
But after the Tournament of Power, that changed. He started to set aside some time to train and realized that he can't always depend on his father to save the day. Also, he gained back the desire to fight and also satisfy his academic hunger as his new goal in fighting was to explore find an alternate path that did not need to use the emotions and aura of a super saiyan which was what eventually lead to his Beast transformation.
gohan is the strongest bcoz toriyama wants gohan to be the next main character after cell saga but the studio doesnt want it and wants goku to remain the main character that is why they bring back goku from the dead..

Gohan does have the advantage of being able to tap his full strength without powering up to a stronger form, after training under the elder Kai with the Z sword. He went soft for a while, prior to Resurrection of F, and fell short of his potential for a long time. Even during the tournament of power, he still wasn't as strong as he should have been.
I think he meant when they were flying back to beerus planet after being beat up by Black Frieza, Goku asks Whis if the Fish was talking about BFrieza being the strongest and Whis says maybe OR maybe the strongest warrior is somewhere else in the universe, which i believe this takes place just as DBS SUPER HEROES takes place
I think the exposure from other saiyan’s strength helps saiyans power up quicker. Almost how it takes centuries before the first computer is created, but now is taught in college
No one has more potential than Gohan and Frieza. Had Gohan Trained for the 7 years Goku was dead like Vegeta trains he would be so far ahead that he could have been buu instantly. If Frieza trained like goku and Vegeta he would be far superior to them.
Gohan has a perfect form. As in the turnament he doesn't require transformation to figh against blue forms. Thats what Wis was trying to explain to Goku about unnecessary transformations that really weren't that many boost of power. Again Gohan by training with Picolo is the only to reach true power and uses his transformation to multiply or add to his existing power and that's why he doesn't get as exausted in battle as Goku. Now he's new form as always just a glimps of his true power he doesn't need to go through the latter of powerups. And Gohan is the most skilled fighter of the crew based on intelligence and tactics which makes him the top fighter. They just need to develop this story line further as it was developed since the beginning
The whole storyline is messed up because of the fact that this is not Gohan’s natural growth. Normally, he would never be strong this fast he just had his potential unleashed by two beings he should’ve had made contact with. Under normal circumstances, the elder Kai and elder namek wouldn’t have met him and unleashed his potential for him to be this strong
one last note: Goten and Trunks saw Goku transform ONCE into Super Saiyan 3 and when fused quickly adapted it into their repertoire.....ONCE.....they observed it and then quickly learned, and that is phenomenal alone.
Kale and Broly are hybrids just not with humans. My belief is that they are hybrids of Saiyans and Tuffles. Any color of normal super saiyan that is not yellow/gold is a hybrid. The legendary super saiyan is just a myth for story purposes, it doesn't actually exist. Broly and Kale simply skip to ultra super saiyan without the loss of speed.
9:17 the answer is "plot" because the writer says so ... they appear later in the story so they have to be equally strong with the main characters at that point in time.

The second he chose college over training, he lost his status as potentially strongest, even with his awakened powers in Super, he's a shadow of Goku's power, Vegeta's power, and even his own GT counterpart that did start training again. I love Gohan, but at this point, calling him strongest because of the one time during the Cell games when he trained seriously is copium in its purest form. You may be able to unlock Super Copium 4 or Super Copium God with it it's so pure.
I think the reason that goten and trunks reached super saiyan so early is because they played together often as children, especially after they both learned how to fly. They each had the perfect sparring partner, just like goku and vegeta. And probably because vegeta trained trunks so hard with the expectation of him surpassing goten and rub it in goku’s face.
Oh they will find a way to depower him again, or get behidn in power, because he isnt the main protagonist. They done it before, they doing this beast thign now to satisfy a subset of the DB fanbase that wants Gohan on top, they will go back to Goku focus soon enough.
All that potential and goku still returns to beat everyone. Work and effort is everything. Gohan is Allen Iverson from basketball. Star talent from birth, and super huge potential, but because he never practiced, he isn’t in the same breath as MJ, Kobe or Lebron who trained day and night to get better.
One thing you forgot about Goku vs Vegeta is mentality. Vegeta has more innate potential, but his mindset holds him back. Goku's...what might be seen as mental deficiencies...allow him more focus. I don't necessarily want to give Toriyama much credit for consistency, but even from Popo's training through ultra instinct, Vegeta has always been thinking about training and fighting, whereas for Goku it has been more instinctual and reflexive. So while Vegeta has more potential AND works harder, Goku generally gets more benefit out of his work.
What you mean, he ha sshown that highe rpotential sicne the very moment he was introduced at the start of Z. His rageboost was shown a few times, difference back then he was way too young to meaningfully use it to finish someone off proper. The entire Cell games was about him finally cashing in on the longstanding potential. It's not like they decided in Super to give him the most potential out of all.

These are pretty much plot holes in other shows, but dragon ball is all about power levels, so characters need to catch up in power to be relevant
If you take into consideration his mother's background he's basically a legendary human hybrid and that along with his Wife's Dad is why Pan is so strong and has the most potential.
Since gohan is the most gentle saiyan in the 7th universe makes sense that he would be the strongest you said the gentleness of a saiyan means they will have more S cells.

I think the one thing most are forgetting about the potential of Super Saiyan and subsequent power levels is that there two types of saiyans: Those who are able to imagine a greater power and those who has seen the proof to achieve it for themselves. Until Goku turned super saiyan it was only considered a legend and after that it was seen as something that can only be achieved through rage (Trunks and Goten proved that there are ways around that) The other universes such as Cabba’s witnessed it learning that there is more potential to their version. So, honestly I would say from a potential stand point it is obvious it’s origins (specifically when you start considering that in future Trunks timeline because of the fact that Goku died there was no additional evolutions for the Saiyan race, half-breed or pure). It’s almost like Demon Slayer where if one person has the mark then the likelihood of all developing it is higher.
Correction. The intrinsic talent/potential in Vegeta is notably higher than Goku. Proven by the fact that he figures out how to unlock Super Saiyan God without the ritual that Goku got to benefit from...and did so in a relatively short time.
Goku said it once, the power comes from a need. Not a desire. Vegeta always only desired the power. Once he became part of the z team, he needed it. He got it.
You are forgetting something about Gohan, the reason he transformed to SSJ later rather than sooner was due to his particularly stubborn level of pacifism and trauma, he had mental blocks preventing a transformation, you also need to consider that from achieving ssj to ssj2 was quite a short time period, he got two forms back to back essentially. So his potential isn’t necessarily less than Goten & Trunks

Didnt make it past where you said Trunks and Goten had no training, Vegeta was training Trunks who in turn was training with Goten, who unlocked the transformation together and didnt bother to tell anyone until Vegeta threatened to not take Trunks to the circus or whatever thing he wanted to go to.
Can you talk about fan theory with transformation multipliers? There seems to be a misconception that SSJ is a 50x multiplier boost because in Frieza saga Goku became 50x stronger upon transforming. SSJ forms don't seem to be as high a multiplier in later sagas, strongly hinting at it not being a set multiplier.

I feel like the argument that Goten and Trunks are stronger than Gohan BECAUSE they went super saying at an earlier age is so silly. The reason why is because it's like saying we are all way smarter than Pythagoras because we figured out the Pythagorean theorem at age (I forgot how old but I'll say) 14. No take away from the feat of being able to go super sayin 3 at what was it 7. That's crazy! However, there's a scene of Goku showing them how to do it (Unless i just remember wrong). Where as Gohan was the 1st person to build upon super sayin, and made the form super sayin 2. To go along with that, he rarely trains compaired to the other fighters, yet he still sky rockets his power to compete, match, or surpass other's levels.
I think Vegeta has the highest combat IQ As in he could be a great commander of an army or figure out an enemy's fighting style But he is so obsessed with ONLY getting stronger
Its simple: Gohans greatest power is also his greatest weakness as we have seen across the series. Gohan has the most potential because of his genetic makeup with Saiyan and human DNA. He can reach untapoed wells of power yes, and because of his human emotions it amplifies this effect. However its also his greatest weakness because he has thoae emotions which hold him back from tapoing into it at will. That why he requires triggers more often than the other warriors.
Vegeta has always been stronger than Goku. Do you know how strong Vegeta would be if he knew how to use kai o ken like Goku? The technique is why Goku can even compete in the first place.
One thing that is overlooked here is just knowledge advantage. Goku had to figure out Super Saiyan was even a concept. Then it wasn't actually complete, what we tend to call SSJ1 wasn't truly complete until Goku and Gohan exited the time chamber in the Cell Saga. So Gohan has the advantage of knowing about the completed SSJ1 at 11 which Goku and Vegeta obviously never had access to. It is also highly likely that Goku's access to Earth's martial arts, which were considered weird throughout early DBZ due to their ability to vary power levels, was necessary to achieve SSJ1 to begin with. Another issue of just knowledge gap if it turns out to be true. Similarly SSJ isn't even apparently a legend in Universe 6, without Vegeta showing them it is likely they never get there.

what makes gohan insane is that even with years of not fighting and living a domestic life without training he was able to achieve a new transformation that can keep up with goku and vegeta who trained intensively yet gohan caught up like it was nothing

I've said this before on another video like this but the U6 saiyans and goten/trunks proved that transformation in saiyans seems to be more of a technique than anything and your power level prior to doesnt determine if you can do it or not.
Gohan is an emotionally weak boy/man, only reason he is even relevant is because plot armor he got when goku was going to be killed off in the andriod saga. Which is why goku gave gohan lead to defeat cell, he got a power up from guru and mystic unlocked and still just as soft as simba and i dont mean soft like fur but soft as in a weak leader.

Gohan's basically just a character created around "beware the rage of a patient man".
Gohan's got a big heart. He's sweet. He's kind. Far more tempered and heroic than his father. He's never looking to fight.
Which is what makes his rage so potent. Why his fury gives him such insane boosts.
He wants peace-- and threatening that peace, hurting the people he loves, sends his power levels absolutely sky high.
This is how I've always viewed him. He's the ultimate FAFO character. If you're peaceful, so is Gohan, but if you really ask for it, he takes souls.
The more you starve your inner demons/dark desires, the more extreme the backlash will be when they finally retaliate. It will be the ultimate Faustian deal made in desperation. You get what you want and need, but your whole life all that you love risks getting burned down around you. It's important to feed your demon little scraps. Gohan does not do this. So when he takes the Faustian Deal with his dark side, the collateral damage is amplified. Gohan's rage is all or nothing. Huge reward and payoff, but with a big price to pay with how he loses himself. Almost like he is selling his soul momentarily to attain the power he needs in the moment
Goku had to help him understand this was the reason that his potential so greatly surpassed his own, and in turn helped him beat cell. Gohan was always so scared of losing until that switch flipped
My interpretation has always been that Goku had it the hardest to become a SS because he basically rediscovered a lost ancient technique. Once he broke that barrier it became easier for others to transform since they could just observe him.

Something I think that's important to remember is that Goku, Vegeta and Gohan realistically had to achieve more by themselves than the rest of the Saiyans. Either achieving SSJ or SSJ2 by themselves. Once they figured it out, it's easier to pass down the knowledge. They had no guide initially. Goten and Trunks both had living figures that could teach them.

One aspect I feel should be discussed is that Goku is a genius in one very specific way - battle intelligence. He learns battle skills and invents them at the a rate above other characters. His ability to follow and understand opponents battle techniques to find weaknesses is also unparalleled. A lot of this is natural skill going back to OG DragonBall too as how he learned the Kamehameha in one demonstration that took Kame 50 years to do.
So yes, physically he isn't at the level of the rest latently, but mentally he's an autistic savant for battle.

That's what the next part of Super is, rather than everyone having the same form like Super Saiyan, they've all taken different paths. Piccolo through Shenron to achieve his Orange Piccolo, Gohan through his Mystic form to achieve Beast, Vegeta through his Ultra Ego, Goku through Ultra Instinct, and Broly through legendary Super Saiyan. Giving Gohan God ki would ruin the plans that Toriyama had set down for the next part of Super.

This why DB writing annoys me. There's really just not enough depth for anyone outside of Goku and Vegeta. We shouldn't still be guessing about Gohan, Goten or Trunks' power at this point.
The concept of Heterosis makes sense. It makes the most sense with Gohan because of how his transformations occur. Goku taught him to use the power of loss to break through. Goku learned this through losing Krillin, his best friend. But the thing is that Emotion seems to be very strongly connected to battle power as has been displayed many times throughout the shows history.
What is the difference between Gohan and his father or Vegeta? Well, you can see in Goku's case that when someone gets hurt he gets serious. This implies that Goku has a strong sense of right and wrong. It upsets him to see the strong hurt the weak. There have only been 2 occasions in the entire history of Dragon ball when Goku truly lost it. The first time was with with the loss of Eighter and the second time was with the loss of Krillin. Other than that, Goku merely just feels bad about people getting hurt or dying. it makes him angry but not emotional.
Gohan on the other hand has a lot of compassion. He went SS because he was sick of letting his friends get hurt and sick of being weak. He went SS2 when he witnessed the death of 16 whom he was barely acquainted with. I would Argue that his compassion is derived from his Human DNA. It most certainly is not a result of Saiyan DNA. Saiyans are power hungry, blood thirsty warriors where strength is everything. I guess you could argue that Goku wasn't close to Eighter either. but that side story is basically just a ripoff of the Cell Saga. all they did was copy Gohan and instead make it Goku. Outside of that, Goku is a pure hearted Saiyan, but he does not have the same depth of emotions that his son has. Because there are many times where Goku did not express such deep emotions. he merely just felt bad about what happened. but it wasn't really personal for him.
Further more. Motives play a big role. Goku just wants to fight strong warriors and test his strength and get stronger. Gohan has no such drive, But he NEEDS to protect people, therefore he NEEDS to be strong. And he gets angry when his friends get hurt. This is EVERY serious battle with Gohan. but it has only been the case a few times with Goku.
The main thing that holds Gohan back is all mental, it's why when he loses control he skyrockets to new levels never before seen. It's when we see just a hint of his potential.
I could see Toyotarou start taking the manga in a direction where Goku and Vegeta start taking more of a back seat and a Gohan/Broly rivalry starting to take the forefront. Gohan already is starting to show Broly how to control his power, I could absolutely see them play off each other to reach new heights, especially since the source of their power while different is still comparable.
Main thing holding Gohan back is his mom, who wants him to be normal and not a warrior

The reason why the saiyans from universe 6 was able to transform so easily was because Vegeta and Goku was able to tell them exactly how to do it and build up that feeling in their backs. If someone came and told Goku and Vegeta how to do it,mmm sure they would’ve reached it a lot sooner.
exactly & while people think it’s an asspull it actually has real world reasoning known as the sacral chakra. it’s located on your lower back & associated with emotions, particularly anger.
It makes sense that focusing on that point in your back is the actually trigger for the transformation. u can even seem them perk up their back when they power up/transform
It's the "new kid on the block" treatment. The order is literally in order of introduction, with beast gohan being most recent.
Forgot to mention that the whole thing about the Legendary Super Saiyans is that they can use the power of the Oozaru without transforming into it (but this is also why they grow so huge even as human form). This stacks with their base power or form. That combined with the other ability which is extreme adaptability and evolution, makes it so their power lvl continuously increases rapidly as they fight.
Another thing about Gohan that people miss or forget is that he is that he inherited the ''rage'' part of Chi Chi which is pretty intense. While Goten is quite the opposite. This is why when he gets these outbursts of rage combined with his Saiyan genes it makes him jump exponentially in power. This is why also his Beast Form is so different from the SSB from Goku And Vegeta. It is called Beast because it is literally being fueled by a huge spike in rage, like a beast. It is incredible people miss this even though it's been show cased since DB with Chi Chi, and in every single scenario Gohan evolves in power. It even is a direct joke in the SBD Super Hero movie when Piccolo triggers Gohan on purpose with a planned scenario to abuse the way he increases in power.
So while Broly needs to be in combat to grow. Gohan does so in bursts just by being in situations that make him rage.
yeah, broly's dad literally explains brolys power is him tapping into his Oozaru without transforming which is what causes the berserker state. combine that with him being super pure hearted because he's dumb as a bag of hammers, means he has a crazy amount of s-cells, then multiply that with going super saiyan and bam. i think my theory tracks because kale is an innocent idiot also that has similar power to broly.
When you really think about it Gohan and Broly are the same naturally pure hearted Saiyans with only extensive and targeted trauma being the main reason for one to transform while the other had many ways to overcome death or misfortune

I always figured part of the reason Goten and Trunks were able to transform so much earlier than Gohan is because they were both conceived after their fathers had achieved Super Saiyan and would have been exposed to it earlier (through Vegeta).

Kinda weird that gohan didn't go beast at the Tournament of Power. His entire universe and the universe of many others were on the line. He's not just a guy who cares about his friends, he seems himself as a literal superhero who is responsible for the safety of his fellow man.
Because he didn't train enough then..my man just got his mojo back just before the tournament..and since then he never stopped training (according to Super Hero)
Also. He always relies on his dad. Every time he was the strongest, was when Goku wasn’t there or able to do the job for him.
He didn't do much training for it that time. It was only after the Tournament of Power that he began setting aside a little time from his day to train. Even this little training was good enough to get Gohan back into shape and unlock more of his potential and hidden power.
The Tournament was held before the movie, the SUPER HEROES movie took place after the ToP in which he never had it unlocked.

Gohan doesnt push himself like Goku, even when all seems lost he knows his dad has it covered. You only see gohan exceed his father and thats when his dad isnt there and its up to him and Goku CANT help. Gohan can't see his family and loved ones be completely destroyed. He loses his sh*t and hence a new form. You also have to remember he is half human and his emotions are far more potent which gives him a boost too. Gohan could be better than Goku, but why would he want to? He has a loving wife and daughter, he has all he wants.
But after the Tournament of Power, that changed. He started to set aside some time to train and realized that he can't always depend on his father to save the day. Also, he gained back the desire to fight and also satisfy his academic hunger as his new goal in fighting was to explore find an alternate path that did not need to use the emotions and aura of a super saiyan which was what eventually lead to his Beast transformation.
Broly is just a different animal, Gohan is a different beast, there's no explanation needed.

Gohan does have the advantage of being able to tap his full strength without powering up to a stronger form, after training under the elder Kai with the Z sword. He went soft for a while, prior to Resurrection of F, and fell short of his potential for a long time. Even during the tournament of power, he still wasn't as strong as he should have been.

Gohan has a perfect form. As in the turnament he doesn't require transformation to figh against blue forms. Thats what Wis was trying to explain to Goku about unnecessary transformations that really weren't that many boost of power. Again Gohan by training with Picolo is the only to reach true power and uses his transformation to multiply or add to his existing power and that's why he doesn't get as exausted in battle as Goku. Now he's new form as always just a glimps of his true power he doesn't need to go through the latter of powerups. And Gohan is the most skilled fighter of the crew based on intelligence and tactics which makes him the top fighter. They just need to develop this story line further as it was developed since the beginning
The whole storyline is messed up because of the fact that this is not Gohan’s natural growth. Normally, he would never be strong this fast he just had his potential unleashed by two beings he should’ve had made contact with. Under normal circumstances, the elder Kai and elder namek wouldn’t have met him and unleashed his potential for him to be this strong
Kind of like when Future Trunks during the Goku Black Saga
one last note: Goten and Trunks saw Goku transform ONCE into Super Saiyan 3 and when fused quickly adapted it into their repertoire.....ONCE.....they observed it and then quickly learned, and that is phenomenal alone.
Kale and Broly are hybrids just not with humans. My belief is that they are hybrids of Saiyans and Tuffles. Any color of normal super saiyan that is not yellow/gold is a hybrid. The legendary super saiyan is just a myth for story purposes, it doesn't actually exist. Broly and Kale simply skip to ultra super saiyan without the loss of speed.

I love Gohan, but at this point, calling him strongest because of the one time during the Cell games when he trained seriously is copium in its purest form.
You may be able to unlock Super Copium 4 or Super Copium God with it it's so pure.
I think the reason that goten and trunks reached super saiyan so early is because they played together often as children, especially after they both learned how to fly. They each had the perfect sparring partner, just like goku and vegeta. And probably because vegeta trained trunks so hard with the expectation of him surpassing goten and rub it in goku’s face.
I give it 2 arcs before Gohan isn't able to transform into beast mode again.
Oh they will find a way to depower him again, or get behidn in power, because he isnt the main protagonist. They done it before, they doing this beast thign now to satisfy a subset of the DB fanbase that wants Gohan on top, they will go back to Goku focus soon enough.

One thing you forgot about Goku vs Vegeta is mentality. Vegeta has more innate potential, but his mindset holds him back. Goku's...what might be seen as mental deficiencies...allow him more focus. I don't necessarily want to give Toriyama much credit for consistency, but even from Popo's training through ultra instinct, Vegeta has always been thinking about training and fighting, whereas for Goku it has been more instinctual and reflexive. So while Vegeta has more potential AND works harder, Goku generally gets more benefit out of his work.
Remember the divine god ki came from Pan before she was born. This probably means as the youngest she has the most potential.

If you take into consideration his mother's background he's basically a legendary human hybrid and that along with his Wife's Dad is why Pan is so strong and has the most potential.

Dude,ssj1 and 2 are not relevant anymore thats why its easier to unlock now by U6 saiyans compared to kakarot or vegeta who are in anime ssj1 and 2 are just a new trans thats why they are older when they unlocked it than u6 cause ssj1 and 2 is still relevant new trans back then😂
It's more that the higher their power levels the easier it is for Sayains to achieve SSJ.
I think the one thing most are forgetting about the potential of Super Saiyan and subsequent power levels is that there two types of saiyans: Those who are able to imagine a greater power and those who has seen the proof to achieve it for themselves. Until Goku turned super saiyan it was only considered a legend and after that it was seen as something that can only be achieved through rage (Trunks and Goten proved that there are ways around that) The other universes such as Cabba’s witnessed it learning that there is more potential to their version.
So, honestly I would say from a potential stand point it is obvious it’s origins (specifically when you start considering that in future Trunks timeline because of the fact that Goku died there was no additional evolutions for the Saiyan race, half-breed or pure). It’s almost like Demon Slayer where if one person has the mark then the likelihood of all developing it is higher.
Correction. The intrinsic talent/potential in Vegeta is notably higher than Goku. Proven by the fact that he figures out how to unlock Super Saiyan God without the ritual that Goku got to benefit from...and did so in a relatively short time.

Up to the end of cell saga the only difference was training methods between goku and vegeta. Goku knew how to work hard at training smart
Goku said it once, the power comes from a need. Not a desire. Vegeta always only desired the power. Once he became part of the z team, he needed it. He got it.
You are forgetting something about Gohan, the reason he transformed to SSJ later rather than sooner was due to his particularly stubborn level of pacifism and trauma, he had mental blocks preventing a transformation, you also need to consider that from achieving ssj to ssj2 was quite a short time period, he got two forms back to back essentially. So his potential isn’t necessarily less than Goten & Trunks
Goten and trunks did train… Goten trained with Chi Chi and Trunks trained with his mother’s technological advances.

Didnt make it past where you said Trunks and Goten had no training, Vegeta was training Trunks who in turn was training with Goten, who unlocked the transformation together and didnt bother to tell anyone until Vegeta threatened to not take Trunks to the circus or whatever thing he wanted to go to.

DBGT isn't canon . While Pan may have be the catalyst for god mode, I haven't seen much of Pan besides that. So that's a remains to be seen thing.
Can you talk about fan theory with transformation multipliers?
There seems to be a misconception that SSJ is a 50x multiplier boost because in Frieza saga Goku became 50x stronger upon transforming. SSJ forms don't seem to be as high a multiplier in later sagas, strongly hinting at it not being a set multiplier.

I feel like the argument that Goten and Trunks are stronger than Gohan BECAUSE they went super saying at an earlier age is so silly. The reason why is because it's like saying we are all way smarter than Pythagoras because we figured out the Pythagorean theorem at age (I forgot how old but I'll say) 14. No take away from the feat of being able to go super sayin 3 at what was it 7. That's crazy! However, there's a scene of Goku showing them how to do it (Unless i just remember wrong). Where as Gohan was the 1st person to build upon super sayin, and made the form super sayin 2. To go along with that, he rarely trains compaired to the other fighters, yet he still sky rockets his power to compete, match, or surpass other's levels.
People forget one thing...that Chi-Chi with a slipper in her hand > Zeno...

Its simple: Gohans greatest power is also his greatest weakness as we have seen across the series.
Gohan has the most potential because of his genetic makeup with Saiyan and human DNA. He can reach untapoed wells of power yes, and because of his human emotions it amplifies this effect.
However its also his greatest weakness because he has thoae emotions which hold him back from tapoing into it at will. That why he requires triggers more often than the other warriors.
Vegeta has always been stronger than Goku. Do you know how strong Vegeta would be if he knew how to use kai o ken like Goku? The technique is why Goku can even compete in the first place.
This is wrong on so many levels.
One thing that is overlooked here is just knowledge advantage. Goku had to figure out Super Saiyan was even a concept. Then it wasn't actually complete, what we tend to call SSJ1 wasn't truly complete until Goku and Gohan exited the time chamber in the Cell Saga. So Gohan has the advantage of knowing about the completed SSJ1 at 11 which Goku and Vegeta obviously never had access to. It is also highly likely that Goku's access to Earth's martial arts, which were considered weird throughout early DBZ due to their ability to vary power levels, was necessary to achieve SSJ1 to begin with. Another issue of just knowledge gap if it turns out to be true.
Similarly SSJ isn't even apparently a legend in Universe 6, without Vegeta showing them it is likely they never get there.

what makes gohan insane is that even with years of not fighting and living a domestic life without training he was able to achieve a new transformation that can keep up with goku and vegeta who trained intensively yet gohan caught up like it was nothing
Or, or because the author forgot a lot but wanted certain story lines. Human failure in story telling. DB and DBZ were good story lines, went all to crap after that.
DB and DBZ still had their flaws, but they were consistent enough to be enjoyable. Can't say the same for what followed.
I've said this before on another video like this but the U6 saiyans and goten/trunks proved that transformation in saiyans seems to be more of a technique than anything and your power level prior to doesnt determine if you can do it or not.
Gohan is an emotionally weak boy/man, only reason he is even relevant is because plot armor he got when goku was going to be killed off in the andriod saga. Which is why goku gave gohan lead to defeat cell, he got a power up from guru and mystic unlocked and still just as soft as simba and i dont mean soft like fur but soft as in a weak leader.
