So few times in a persons life where a song can move you in ways that seem impossible. When its so hard for some to say it to the love of their life. Then you hear the way Larry sings ''i love you more than you'll ever know'' It isn't that hard anymore. Such passion and emotion pouring out . incredible , and to have the tape to go back to when we need that feeling back in our heart and soul is a blessing . Future generations will freak out when they discover this. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you
Thank you for your kind sentiments, Captain Moretokin. Larry is greatly missed by all who knew and played with him. We are so glad that people like you are enjoying and appreciating his talent here on UA-cam! Thanks again!
Damn! How is it that I'm just discovering this man now, after being an avid fan of Al Kooper and Blood, Sweat & Tears for decades? He is Amazing and his mastery on the guitar is blowing me away!
Why, indeed, was Larry taken away from us so soon, licksnkicks! He succumbed to cancer at the age of 45, after a valiant fight. He confided that he had so much more to give to the world of music; and expressed his deep disappointment that his musical life was being cut short. This is a big reason why we have made this effort to make sure his talent is represented here on UA-cam. That is why we are grateful for your expression of appreciation. Thanks again.
OMG! Larry! Just so amazing. Miss him so much. Tears in my eyes. I still can't wrap my head around the fact that he's gone. Not just an incredible musician, but a kind-hearted and hilarious person.
I still to this day always go back to this wonderful video of the one and only Larry DeBari - such a talent and dear friend who will never ever be forgotten! R.I.P. my brother What a great Band this was !
I was born in 1956, I rode the wave of the age of music - I like it all, classic rock, classical, blues, blue grass. But, I think the one music most in my soul is that of Blood, Sweat and Tears - they could do it all!!
Larry has an amazing voice! He is absolutely one of the BEST musicians on guitar that I have ever come across! He can shred like Eddie, play the blues like BB King, play rock like Satriani! He is absolutely with out a doubt one of the most talented guitar gods that ever lived!!
Thanks Glen…a beautiful tribute.I know he treasured his musical moments with you. We all miss him very much. Toward the end, he told me his biggest disappointment in falling ill so young was that he had so much more music to play…something we can all think about.
Touches my soul, reaches down deep, grabs hold, and yanks it right up to my throat, and then I have to hug myself, and sigh. Strong Real Emotions. That is what this song does to me. Thank you for posting, it is good to feel.
Thanks Frank... Touring with Larry and watching him wow audiences all over the world is a treasured memory of mine... still brings tears to this day.... Larry had so much more to give....Hie told me his biggest regret about his early departure was the music he would NOT get to play... a lesson for all of us....
Larry was a year ahead of me in high school. He and his fellow bandmates were our heros. I'm watching this video over and over with tears in my eyes. We all followed his career from back home as best as we could. I've not seen a video of this quality and this late in his life before. I am so proud :)....yet so very sad. Thank you so much for posting this. I have posted it on Facebook, so you are likely to get more than a few visitors soon :) We all miss him so very much!!
skifreak201: It’s 12 years late, but I want you to know your heartfelt comments about Larry are greatly appreciated. We continue to miss Larry very much!
@niwri7 Thanks for passing on that story, niwri7. That sounds like Larry all right. He would make every song he played his own! Indeed, this iteration of BS&T should have been called "The new sound of BS&T featuring Larry DeBari." He is greatly missed!
Very touching and sincere tribute to your former class mate, guitarist/vocalist extraordinaire and friend! It would have been a honor to have known him I am sure...He most certainly is PLAYING and singing with such style, grace and emotion on all these tracks and especially on this one adding so much to the sound of BST!! This performance is a particularly great one!! I have to Salute Drumcam for his continuing effort to respond to all these posts..WHAT A HELL OF A DRUMMER YOU ARE SIR!!
Wow this is a song that moves all of my emotions, I think it's a song rich in every way, in words, music and especially feeling. It's a song that will run forever in my life, each instrument is incredibly appreciated.
@skifreak201 Thanks, skifreak201 for your heart-felt comments about Larry. Indeed, Larry is greatly missed by all who knew him and played with him. The world of music is forever at a great loss since his passing. NO ONE ever has or ever will play and sing like Larry DeBari.
I can appreciate your respect for Al and he is a singer quite noteworthy...But for my money..and no disrespect intended, this guitar man tears this song up! He plays such a great guitar as well. I belive I heard from Drumcam he as passed on which seems hard to believe..It was only fitting that DCT gave Al some deserving credit for his original vocal work on this great old blues tune...How about that BASS PLAYER! LETS GIVE HIM SOME TOO!!!
A.c. Harris Thank you A.c. Harris. Larry was a very special musician and guy. He is greatly missed by all who knew him. We are so glad that his performances with Blood Sweat & Tears have been captured for the enjoyment of kind folks like you.
@@Drumcam I'm pretty sure I saw you at the Germantown Performing Arts Center (Memphis, TN), long ago! I know Larry was playing Guitar and Steve Gutman was Trumpet & Director. It was a great show. Funny thing, my wife (11 years younger) didn't particularly know BS&T. As we're leaving, I'm thinking, "Wow what music". She says, "Man that singer is sexy for an older guy!"
very nice job by Larry, I am very sad to hear of his passing. and I liked the tone on the guitar and he has a good crasp of the song, The band is much more than a "cover" band LOL
If you don't mind could I ask why this amazing man was taken away from us so soon? What a tragic loss. Talent like this inspires me to practice my guitar! Watching Larry in all the vids brings so much joy to me.
Geezus, drop about half the "Baby"s will you? Larry's got that "I'm a white dude with a whole lotta soul" thing going on. Should've given Kooper's version a few more listens...bay-ba.

These guys lifted me out of deep depression when I was young. I love this music now just as much as I did then. Long live them all.

Larry a super talent gone way to soon. This group made real music with no phoney
drums and electronic bs!
And no plastic keyboard just the raw sound of The Hammond B3

Jerry, Steve and Tim used to hang at our house in Studio City, and my dad gave them lessons on trumpet. Always cool, and free concerts.
Man, what a performance. I saw this configuration of BS&T live in Atlanta, and was blown away by Larry's rendition of this song.

This is Al Kooper's song and always will be. Can't listen to any other version.

made love to this song many times as a teenager
I would never leave you baby.
Wow! In my opinion this version actually beats "Al Kooper's". R.I.P. Larry.
A.c. Harris Thank you A.c. Harris. Larry was a very special musician and guy. He is greatly missed by all who knew him. We are so glad that his performances with Blood Sweat & Tears have been captured for the enjoyment of kind folks like you.
As soon as I heard 'Al Kooper' I'm thinking Alice Cooper? lol. your right, this is a great version.

방탄소년단 땜시 한참 헤매이다 겨우 찾았어요 최고!!
Larry Debari is changed to Al Kooper is changed to Steve Katz
Blood Sweat and Tears Guitarist
Geezus, drop about half the "Baby"s will you? Larry's got that "I'm a white dude with a whole lotta soul"
thing going on. Should've given Kooper's version a few more listens...bay-ba.
Why General Motors rather than Ford? This question will haunt me...........
Great song. Cant even hear the bass
I'm sorry but no body sang this song better than Jerry Lacroix the "count" when he was with BST
This is good - but the lead vocalist is defintiely no Al Kooper.
its probably better that way
BS & T without Al Kooper is a good as CCR without Fogerty. They suck. What's the photographer from "Just Shoot Me" do singing lead vocals ?
Hopefully you crawled into your cave and are still there.
oh mi god where are marijuana
CHIRRION
No good. No horns. Period.
Such a good song - originally! This is awful! Slap bass on a song like this?????? Ruins the whole song.
